🕸️ Know your GOTHS 🦇
🦇 Part One 💀
My very obviously ADHD mother got together with my high functioning, hiding as a normie, autistic father, and they had an, auhd, autistic, and adhd (probably all mixed of some kind) kiddos.
No one in this family is diagnosed.
Up until we were in our 30s, the children were “gifted” and “bright” and “perfectly normal.”
My mother didn’t start realizing she was ADHD until after we figured it out and started sending her vids.
We are still slowly working on my father.
You would think, all of us being “weird” and having our own little idiosyncrasies, we would just all get a long and make accommodations for each other.
I swear, every little spat my parents have comes down to them not understanding how the other’s brain works.
I am fairly certain my youngest sister’s “rebellious phase” was just her internally realizing before the rest of us that our family wasn’t normal, and her gut instinct reaction to try to be as “normal” (popular) as possible.
My family loves each other, and does much better than people who have one neurodivergent person fighting the tide of a near total family unit of allistic people.
The families I have seen with the healthiest dynamic? All know what flavor their brains come in and have worked to make accommodations for each-other, or even better, build a life that is based around and makes use of them.
Get that shit diagnosed early. (If you have the money)
(She says as someone who refuses to be diagnosed so it can’t be used against her. Maybe just get it labeled without the official documentation?)
Idk- know your brain, know your loved one’s brains, be intentional about building a good life together. Other wise you end up having the stupidest arguments at the dumbest times.
(I write this while trying to tune out my parents argue because mother arrived home at a time that interupted his lunch, then snapped when he didn’t get up fast enough to help her bring groceries in)
Reading another fic, I reached the point where I have to ask:
Who are you people who keep writting “Went upstairs to Christopher/Eddie’s room/shower?”
It is very clear that Eddie’s house has only one floor divided to rooms, I mean why would Eddie choose a house with stairs of any kind when he has a kid with CP? It will be extremely dangerous and not accessible for a kid with crutches who is very independant.
Also I went back especially to check that in the episode featuring Eddie’s house, so unless Christopher and Carla waited for the two in Buck’s apartment there is no reason to write “went upstairs to shower.”
Sorry for the rant but it really bugged me.
Can I just go off for a moment?
I just love it when I’m questioned about underage issues by literal children online who are more underage then I am, when I’ve done a two year study with the help of my FACS teacher about underage sexual issues.
It’s not like I know that schools in the south(not all school but some) are legally only allowed to teach abstinence as their “Sex Ed”.
Or that the majority of teens who send nudes don’t know that they and their significant other can be charged with position of child pornography unless they both are over the age of 18 and you or your partner depending on your ages can be charged as sex offenders.
Or that consent has to be given verbally, both parties have to be in a clear state of mind no drug or alcohol. So you know that one time you got drunk with your friend and you both ended up having sex yeah that’s technically sexual assault/rape on both ends of the party, and is absolutely reversible no matter how far you get.
I’ve studies and researched this shit for two. 2 years. I think I know what I’m talking about.
Some girl in my math class talking with her friends about how hot Tom Holland is and how's she's going to marry him: Okay but is he even like British tho? Cuz his accent is traaaassshhhh
Them: Oh, idk.
Me, internally: Are you fucking stupid?
Me, later after contemplating the situation: You're going to marry him and you don't even know if he's British? Back the fuck up. Bitch.
I don’t care if a director tells me to take 10 frames off—because I don’t take 10 frames off. I take off what I think would be appropriate. Most directors have no idea what 10 frames looks like. If you work with Sidney Lumet, he knows what 10 frames are. Milos Forman does, too. But most directors, when they say “take 10 frames off,” they’re just kind of showing off to you. I’ve learned through the years you just do what you think is right. And they’ll think that’s great because they’ll never count the frames.
