my very generic, but elaborate sonic/mlp au! many more designs and lore and maybe even a comic series? Names & species below (this au is still a huge wip so these could change)
IF ANYONE HAS BETTER NAME IDEAS feel free to lmk! The ony names I'll probably not change* are Amy's, Silver's and probably Knuckles (aka Hoofhorn) and Shadow, but I'm still open to ideas
(Left to right)
Hoofhorn Guardian of the Yaks (Yak)
Miles Perhour 'Trails' the Mechanic (Unicorn)
Blue Blur 'Sonic' the Fasted Pegasus to Ever Live (Pegasus)
Amy Rose the Face of Love (Earth Pony)
Shadow Echoes the Ultimate Lifeform
Rouge Quarts Equestrias Top Secret Agent and thief (Bat pony)
Silver Lining the Face of the Future (Abada + Zebra)
This is a redraw of a sketch I did a while ago. I've been wanting to redraw it for a while now. I'm playing with the idea of adding Knuckles to the Brothers Unleashed AU
If we are getting "Shadow Generations," then we should also get "Knuckles Generations," "Blaze Generations," "Espio Generations," and even "Silver Generations!"
But, I think at first he would be angry and upset that he got thrown into a guardian position with no warning. Sonic is also freaked out that the Chaos Emeralds can take control of him at any point and he can’t fight back. Sonic also doesn’t like the fact the Chaos Emeralds talk to him through his mind. The voice the Chaos Emeralds have is hazy and hard to understand yet clear to Sonic. It’s like the ancients language but Sonic can now understand it perfectly. This means he can also understand koco and chao.
(Also a little headcanon I have is that Knuckles can understand koco and chao normally since he’s the guardian of the Master Emerald but it takes him a minute to understand it.)
Back on track, Sonic at first doesn’t mind that he’s always in his super form, but it quickly gets annoying since he is always bursting with chaos energy and can just give someone the effects of like ten energy drinks just by touching them. This also means that Sonic doesn’t have to eat, drink, or sleep. This doesn’t apply to Knuckles since Knuckles doesn’t have the Master Emerald in him like Sonic.
And about the extra strength, Sonic can actually control it pretty well, most of the time. He’s used to controlling his strength due to the Werehog experience, but Sonic will forget about his strength and high five someone…then they precede to crash into a wall.
Sonic also hates the fact he’s stuck in his Super form forever since the Chaos Emeralds refuse to release from him.
A bit of spontaneous discord writing, polished up for your entertainment. Little Z (or Zombie/Zombby) is from an au created by the knuckleheads on the Echidna's Parade server, and I spitballed how he arrived at The Sanctuary, the meeting place where all the different versions of Knux come together to socialize and interact.

Enjoy!

The boy who looked young but had actually existed for thousands of years opened his eyes. He wasn't quite sure where he was, but wasn't exactly a stranger to waking up in strange locations without prior knowledge of how he'd gotten there.
Well, it had happened once before, at least.
But that had been a while ago. He remembered what happened after that revival—he’d been alone on his island until his friends had found him. Where were they now? Somewhere close? For that matter, where was he? This place looked a bit like some of the ruins on his island, but at the same time, they were different. He couldn’t pinpoint what was different about them, but they didn’t have the same feel. It was strange.
He didn’t remember any strange happenings before he woke up. He was on his island, the chao chittering away as he napped in front of the Master Emerald. There were no ripples in the chaos energy around him, nothing to warn of an impending attack or invasion. Just calmness. Peace.
Then again, his memory wasn't what it should be—big swatches of it were dark and fuzzy. He still held bits and pieces from his life before, when he had been a young boy growing up in the temple. But those usually came to him in dreams. Nightmares. So he tried not to think of that.
He sat up, blinking as he looked around himself. He felt the familiar thrum of chaos as it flowed through him, and looked up instinctively to find the Master Emerald. It was there, but, strange. It seemed to hover in the air, over a large room.
Where was he??
Voices came to him then, and he furrowed his brow. They didn’t sound like those of his friends. They sounded a lot like . . . him. Some were deeper, some had strange accents, but they all felt familiar.
He stood, and wandered toward the voices. There were people there, and they were . . .
No. That couldn't be right. He was the last. Had been the last for a long, long time.
But the closer he got, the clearer it became.
They were echidna.
Fear and excitement battled in his chest. Where had they come from? Where had they been? Would they accept him?
"Hey, a new one," one of the echidna said, and the boy jumped, pulling his hands to his chest in his fear. He turned and locked eyes with . . .
Himself.
No. Nooooo. That . . . that was impossible. Right? He didn’t remember all that much from his childhood before, but he was pretty sure violet eyes wasn’t common for echidna. He remembered the priest saying something about it making him special.
"Hey, little guy," a very tall echidna said as he neared. He had some sort of bandages on his arms. Was he injured? "Welcome to the Sanctuary!"
The boy's brow furrowed. A word appeared in his head when he looked at the tall echidna—Boom. What did that mean?
"Boom?" he asked, and the other echidna smiled.
"That's me! And you're . . ." The eyes of the tall echidna—Boom—flickered green for a split second, and he tilted his head to the side. "Zombie?"
The boy flinched. That word sometimes made people afraid of him. Would it make these new echidna not like him? "Yeah?"
"Nice to meet a fellow Knuckles!" Boom said with a laugh, and pulled the boy into a bear hug. "There's always room for more!"
This was . . . unexpected. But what Boom had said confused the boy.
"Fellow Knuckles?"
"Yeah!" Boom said, gently placing the boy back to the ground. "I'm Knuckles." He turned to point to another echidna with a pirate hat. "He's Knuckles." He pointed to another one. "He's Knuckles, too. We're all Knuckles!"
Okay, this was either a really elaborate practical joke, or he was dreaming. He sometimes dreamed of being around other echidna again, so that wasn't strange. But they weren't all himself in his dreams.
"So," Boom said, breaking the boy out of his thoughts. "We all have different names here, and we don't really know where they come from sometimes. But . . . why are you called 'Zombie'?"
The boy bit his lip. He liked to joke with his friends about his, well, undead status, but would these new echidna . . . these other hims accept it?
"Boom!" the one dressed as a pirate hissed as he came closer. "Ye can't just go around askin' people why they be called what they be called!" He stopped before the boy and gave a smile that looked more like a smirk. That flicker of insight appeared in the boy's head again, and the word 'Dread' appeared.
Well that wasn't an encouraging name.
"Aye, greetings boy! I be Dread. A pleasure t' meet ye."
Dread reached forward and grasped the boy's hand, and before he knew what was happening, he was in the middle of a firm handshake.
And he just couldn't resist.
He shifted the chaos energy inside him, and released the hold on his arm at the shoulder. It came away, flapping as Dread continued his handshake. For a second, Dread didn't seem to comprehend what had changed, but then his face contorted into a look of shock and horror.
Behind him, Boom's face looked identical, and he grabbed the pirate by the shoulders.
"WHAT DID YOU DO??"
Dread tried to release his grip on the boy's hand, but the fingers stubbornly held fast.
"I DID NOTHIN'! I SWEAR T' ALL THE GODS!"
As the two echidna struggled with the fact that the boy's arm had come off, Zombie couldn't hold his poker face any longer. He started to laugh, curling his other arm around his belly as he did so.
Slowly, Dread and Boom calmed enough to look at him, the shock on their faces replaced by confusion.
"What . . ." Dread looked back and forth between Zombie and his separated arm, before his brow furrowed and his lip curled in a snarl. "Trickery!"
"So, he didn't rip your arm off?" Boom asked, pulling his hands to his chest in a very familiar expression of anxiety.
Zombie shook his head. "No!" he laughed, waving a dismissive hand. "I do it all the time! Watch!"
Another chaos shift and his other arm fell to the floor. The hand curled against the floor, pulling itself toward the two freaked out echidna before him. Dread growled, trying to avoid being grabbed by the crawling hand, while Boom looked on with a smile slowly spreading across his face.
"Oh that is so awesome!"
"How can ye do this?" Dread asked, pulling his hand from Zombie's and using that arm to push away the crawling one. "Some sort of witchcraft?"
Zombie shrugged his unhindered shoulders. "I'm dead."
Silence. Dread blinked. "Ye're what?"
"Dead." Zombie gave them a sad smile. "A long time ago I was supposed to be the guardian to the Master Emerald. I was taught practically since I was hatched how to do it. A priest was supposed to do some ritual to connect me to the Emerald, but . . ."
He trailed off. He never liked talking about this part. It hurt his chest.
"He hurt me. Tried to transfer all the power of the Emerald into me. I think he wanted to try and control it himself. But it was too much, and it hurt a lot. I . . . I died."
A heavy silence settled over the room, and Zombie felt all eyes on him. He blushed, casting his eyes down to the arm still crawling on the floor. He hated this. Now they'll be all sad and pity him and treat him different. Maybe they wouldn't want to be around him. People sometimes got too freaked out after hearing his story. Maybe they'd make him leave.
He hoped not. He'd only been here a short while, but he liked it here. It felt safe. Like home.
"The power he tried to push into me saved me." May as well tell the whole story before he was kicked out. "Kinda. It took a long time, but it kinda . . . well, I'm not sure what exactly happened, but it made me like this."
More silence, and somehow that was worse than if they yelled at him, told him to get away. He kept his head lowered, and he watched as Dread reached down to pick up the crawling arm.
"Put ye're arms back on, lad," he said, and his voice was softer now. "Ye're safe here. The rest of us lot have had hard lives as well. Ye're one of us, and we'll keep ye safe however we can."
Zombie lifted his head, looking between Boom and Dread in shock. He wasn't expecting that.
"You mean I can stay?"
Boom and Dread exchanged a glance.
"Why wouldn't you?" Boom asked, his brow furrowed and head cocked to the side. "You're a Knux aren't you? You belong here."
"As long as ye don't do that arm thing again, ye can stay as long as ye like," Dread added, a little smirk on his lips.
Zombie called his arms back, trying to absorb what they'd said. They'd accepted him? Just like that?
"C'mon, Little Z," Boom said, lifting the boy and perching him on his shoulders. "I'll show you around."
"Okay!"
Zombie took hold of Boom's dreads to steady himself as the tall echidna walked him around and introduced him to the other, well, hims. The boy couldn't stop smiling.
He was gonna like it here. He was gonna like it here a lot.
