Time for another Korper fic! This time, I’m filling a lot of things. First, this was written for the @quakeriderwritersguild flowers challenge where I was given gooseberry, symbolizing anticipation. When thinking of this, I also decided the story would also fill the “First Apartment” square on my @marvelfemslashbingo​ card. And, since Kora and Piper are lesser written about characters, this meets the @agentsofchallenges​ “We Love Them All” challenge.

Preview:

Kora was brimming with excitement. Finally, after a few years of being in this new timeline, she was beginning to feel settled. Beginning to have a real life.

Things had been strange, and adjusting to this time had been difficult at times. Kora had depended a lot on her sister to help her, and she had made friends with some of the other agents as well. She felt that she was probably closest to Sousa actually; being fellows persons out of time seemed to have bonded them.

And then there was Piper.

Kora hadn’t actually been too surprised by her feelings for Piper. After all, Kora had seen some of the timestream. She had seen so many possible futures for herself, and some of them had included Piper. Kora had still approached the idea of a relationship with some trepidation though.

Of course, Daisy had helped move things along. Actually, it was probably safer to say that Daisy had pushed them together, but Kora was grateful. Mostly.

Either way, here she was, ready to go look at apartments with Piper. It was a big moment for them.

“That’s”, he frowned, “that’s it?”

Kora frowned back, “Why, what’s wrong with that?”

“I just-”, he let out a saddened huff, and “I thought it would be more exciting than that.”

“Drinks are a very normal way to ask someone out.”

“It was way different in our time.”

“What was it like in your time?” Kora asked, intrigued. She’d known Flint was from a doomsday-esque future, 2091, but she was still fuzzy on the details.

“Lemons.”

Kora blinked. “I’m sorry, what now?”

time for some korper frei, my shsl snake charmer, who is also an even more mysterious snake charmer in my normal oc verse too!!

he always has one or more snakes on his person. literally. his best friend and favorite snake is siegfried the carpet python, or siggy for short. 

siggy is always wrapped around korper’s neck like a scarf and has been mistaken for one before. those were not good moments.

he also has a very large boa constrictor named brownie who is always in his room because she’s just so dang large. she doubles as a guard snake.

he’s a narcoleptic, and has taught himself to sleep upright because when he fell asleep (literally) this scared his snakes and caused them to either bite or suffocate him... not enough to be lethal, of course. but this made him feel guilty (and it was very uncomfortable to wake up to) so he learned how to sleep differently.

now, when he nods off, his snakes have learned to stay calm. siggy’s even learned to catch and cradle his head when it happens.

he doesn’t use a flute to charm his snakes, since snakes can’t really hear wind instruments well. he uses drums, they can feel and hear those better

if you couldn’t tell from the name, korper is german

he takes very good care of his snakes. he’d never hurt them and trusts them deeply. the feeling is mutual

he acts like an airhead and can be goofy, but he’s quite smart. if only he didn’t zone out all the time...

korper is very soft spoken and doesn’t talk often. he’s self conscious of the way he talks because he has a slight lisp, but it’s hardly noticable. besides, it’s always harder to just hear him speak in the first place

even though he loves snakes, because of them, he’s never been able to own any other animals for the sake of their safety

that being said, he loves dogs. he will point at every dog he sees, whisper “puppy”, then immediately attempt to pet it

he lives vivaciously through every other dog he's ever met. his friends have to drag him away from packs of stray dogs

korper wears loose and roomy clothing so he can hide snakes in them. secret snake in his sleeve

due to his narcolepsy, if he gets too excited, he’ll pass out, so siggy gets kind of tense when he laughs hard

he’s the polar opposite of selfish. he’s the most generous and selfless person ever. but he also tends to forget about his own wellbeing sometimes... like eating.

korper likes to gently and quietly descend upon his friends while they’re doing work or talking and lay his head on top of theirs or hug them. he’s a tall 6′3″ so he does it a lot

he’s also very skinny. a string bean boy
