Kryptonian biology, but this time nothing like the previous ones
So, let's start from this 2 points:
Kryptonians get their powers by the yellow sun, and Krypton had a red sun
On Krypton, kryptonians are divided into guilds:
- Science guild
- Artisian guild (creative people like architects, writers, etc.)
- Lawmaker guild (Lawyers, Judjes and Law people in general)
- Military guild
- Religious guild (the smallest and selective guilde of the 6)
- Technician guild (Basically everyone who does manual labor)
Ok, let's start from point 2
Most of the population on krypton had light skin, but there were some individuals who had darken skin, in the ancient times of the planet this individuals were called "The kissed by Rao".
One may think that because of their religious aspect they would be in the Religious guild, but no, these individuals had a peculiarity, their strenght and combact skill were of the best on krypton, and darker their skin, stronger they were.
Because of this, most, but not all, of the kryptonians that had dark skin are in the Military or Technician guilds.
Now let's get to point 1
Kryptonians get their powers from the sun, and differently from humans that have a darker skin to protect themself from the Sun, kryptonians have a darker skin to better absorb the Sun radiation. Like you know, Superman black suit was used because black absorbs the sun radiation better, so the idea comes from that.
Clark arrives on Earth with light skin, but then while grewing up his skin got darker with the years and with powers developing, not to dark, he reached a tan.
The same goes for Kara, who's skin remained lighter tan than clark but only because of her blond hair and that caused a slightly less absortion of the yellow sun radiation
For Kon and Jon it's a different story, and it depends on how their kryptonian and human DNA interact.
Jon has a lighter skin than Clark and with also his lilac eyes ressembles more like Lois
Kon on the other hand has more kryptonian traits, and has a tan like Clark
Is all of this because I headcanon that kryptonian kinda act like plants but with darker skin than greener leaves? Yeah, why do you ask?
Would kryptonians love or hate if their partner started using a strong cologne/deodorant/perfume/whatever?

Kryptonian headcanons
Im sleep deprived and a lil buzzed, but the grind goes on! hows everyones week been? I love talking about my kryptonian headcanons :3c
I think it depends on the kryptonian honestly. All kryptonians have this instinctual attraction and almost hunger for their partner’s scent.
But if the cologne/perfume went along with their natural scent, I could see it as acting as something akin to an amplifier. If you want to get the right fragrance, just bring your kryptonian partner and they’ll find one.
But I could also see some colognes or perfumes acting as a buffer or even clashing with your natural scent, which they wouldn’t like.
If it’s Clark, he wouldn’t mention it, hes way too polite to do so. You do end up noticing him being extra cuddly when you just get out of the shower, or you’ve sweat through your fragrance of the day. Like, face in your armpit kind of nuzzling, which gives you a clue.
For the most part they enjoy your natural scent more, especially if it’s a little extra ripe like after a long day or a workout, but most of the kryptonians we know also know about human standards, and knowing wearing cologne or perfume is expected.
This just means your natural scent is more of a treat for them to enjoy, or when you want to tease them and wind them up, or when they need comfort.
But kryptonians not raised on human standards like Dru-Zod, would be very verbal about his dislike for your “earthly fragrances” and start grumbling and complaining about it.
If it was up to him you’d never have to wear anything to cover up your scent, unless other kryptonians are around, since you’re only his to enjoy and find comfort in.
With people like Zod, you have to find some kind of deal to be able to actually smell nice, by your standards, and go out. Like explaining the importance in some situations, or giving him a treat by behaving.

If we do the canon way where Damian is CIS we need to go and check for Jon, if we want to make Jon the bottom or the one pregnant then is easy, alien biology and that's it.
There is the easy way, and that is test tube baby but kryptonian, where they go to the fortress and build a chamber like on krypton where they put the parents DNA and voilà baby
There is also the "magic way" and you pretty much it however you want, but you asked for kryptonian biology so

a little note: I didn't pass my development biology exam (for many reasons) but I did study, and I studied it a lot because I decided to take that exam and not specific zoology when I was in my biology year, so yeah, prepare for some science plus some fantasy with this (and because of language some terms may be wrong)

Ok so, the reason why Kryptonian started using the chambers to make babies is because when a pregnancy happens the chance of the mother dying is high.
Kryptonian uterine lining dosen't grow much, and their placenta tends to be really invasive, plus ectopic pregnancies between kryptonians were common
Why did they evolve like this? Well first of all, look at octopus, and a lot of insects, but you'll say "they only have 1 to 2 children per pregnancy, and they need the mother to survive", and you're right, so I propose:
Maybe when their sun was younger it didin't happend as often. maybe because of some kind of an epidemy this trait was connected to the advantageous one. maybe in the same cromosome or gene location, it was like "oh yeah, you won't get ill/die from this virous but if you're pregnant you'll have like a 40% chance of dying"
Now, for the second one
They're aliens, we don't have to think as if they're animals from earth (like us). Maybe on krypton during their preistoric or really old civilazation they had like bigger group, maybe females were more common than males, we're not even sure if they produce milk, but considerring how Kara and Superman look like we could say they do, maybe both male and female kryptonian produce milk, we have no idea, so just make up something.
How does a male from another compatible species (human) get pregnant from a kryptonian?
How do we count the fact that Jon is a half kryptonian?
For point 1 I'll start by mentioning on how kryptonian powers work (go check that post out because this one is getting long enough). so, what if kryptonian babies need a "powerful" (Yellow) sun to develop without risking the mother life? maybe that's why kryptonians had high risk pregnancy, the baby needed more energy that he would usually get from the sun but because it wasn't enough on krypton they took the mother one too.
And I propose you this, because of this reason when a kryptonian is pregnant under the yellow sun they slightly lose their powers, or just generally they aren't reliable anymore, because that extra energy that gives them power is used for the baby.
Now, let's go to the Mpregn part, well first of all I need to explain in really simple terms on why ectopic pregnancies happen:
the ovaries aren't really connected to the tubes, so an egg with the sperm can "escape" and go where they shouldn't
the uterine lining is just a way for the mother to not bleed when the placenta attaches, so the placenta can attach even if there is no uterine lining, but the mother risk to bleed and die are high (there are various type of placenta and lining but I won't explain those, they depend on the animal and bla bla, there is also a pseudo-placenta that some chark have but that's another story)
Now, how does the man (in this case Damian) not die? well 2 options that we can unify if we want
because of the yellow Sun the fetus has more energy and it modifies the body (and a little bit of the DNA) to create a space were to safily grow
Let's be honest, Damian for sure was, at least once, dipped in the lazarous pit has a baby, so I will just say "✨MAGIC✨"
Bonus: boypussy
Now, for point 2 (and the end of this post hopefully) How does Jon, an Half Kryptonian comes to this. Ok let's start from the fact that kryptonian have a longer gestation than humans (like 2-3 month more, so a full year). Kryptonian DNA tends to expand to the human, like what happends with Kon, so let's just go from there.
Now the real question, how do we have a JonDami baby? well, check the Bonus option of point 1, or we can go to the egg option (re-check the master post link because in one of those I talked about mpreg), plus if we consider the DNA that the baby modiefied to create a save space to grow, we can just say that it absorbed it and mixed it with Jon OG DNA

So, let's get to the headcanon / post / kryptonian biology idea, however you want to call it
yes, this is about *a word I removed to see if it got shadowbanned*
So, what if kryptonians are like seahorses
Let me explain, if you didn't alredy know in seahorses is the male that "gives birth"
Basically the females lays the eggs in the male pouch, and then he fertilizers them inside that same puoch.
The male seahorse will carry those eggs until they hatch, and then little tiny seahorses will come out of it (only few will survive, but that's another story and nature being nature)
So what if something similiar happens with kryptonians, basically the females have a pseudopenis (like hyenas) and males have an inside reproductive organs, and also tits to later nurture the child after birth
And maybe like hyenas, females are bigger than males
Then at this point you may ask: "but Clark (and also Kara at this point)? "
Well Kara was born on Krypton, she didn't know english before arriving on earth, keep that in mind
Clark was found as a baby by the Kents, who where human farmers, that knew biology by Earth standars.
If you asked a random person if they could distinguish a female hyena from a male one (without them knowing about the pseudo pp) they'll probably think that everyone that you showed them would have been males.
So it's kinda understandable that Martha and John tought that Clark was a male and raised him accordingly.
And then you will ask: "but the gender is a mind/social construct" bla bla. But hear me out, I give you 2 options:
Clark is trans male, no one just ever tought about it because everyone (him too) tought from the start that he was male.
Gender works differently for Krypton and kryptonians. Hear me out, they're aliens, but even before that, here on earth we humans don't really know what animals think, we interpret their language, but sometimes those animals, to comunicate with us humans, change that language;
an example are cats, cats don't usually meow to comunicate after puberty, but they continue to do so to comunicate with us humans. And this is just for general comunication for like asking atttention, food etc.
But for more complex things like gender and what's their toughts we don't really know what they think.
So apart from that, kryptonians are aliens, so they could have the most neutral gender society ever, and only mind their sex for reproduction, especially after they started the whole test tube babies and eugeneticts thing.
And Clark grew up in an environment where he was assigned male and felt the label fitting, so continued to use it, maybe on Krypton the roles are reversed than the humans ones and he actually rapresent a tipical female kryptonian
And for Kara, if you remember I said she arrived on Earth that she didn't know english, just kryptonian, so I propose this to you:
A language missunderstanding, because on how the kryptonian sexs work and on how Clark started teaching her english she tought that "human male" = "female kryptonian" and viceversa when translating, and Clark called himself a "male", but Kara knew she (Clark) was a female krypronian, so she (Kara) just tought that was the word for it. After she got a dictionary and searched for the words description it said that the "females carried the child" and so it worked for kryptonians and all of that. So just a big language misunderstanding.
Plus add the gender thing that you can see at the end of point 2 for Clark.
Anda again, you may ask : "but how could Clark ever find out that he's not actually a male (apart from asking directly to the fortress or some other third language space dictionary)?"
Glad you asked, and the answer to this is again seahorses
Let me explain.
Kara finds out about seahorses, she maybe watched a documentary, goes to the aquarium, idk, your choice. and it's in that moment that she realizes that she misunderstood the whole english language and the whole concept of males and females on Earth.
The next time she sees Clark she goes and explain everything and all of that
and from here it's your take on how you wanna write it, so yeah, enjoy

Now other science and zoology stuff
Now you maybe could ask, what determines the Sex, in the sense in an animal who's the female and the male.
Because genetically that changes depending on the animal, some change sex mid life, in some animal it's a multi genetic factor with an ambiental influence, like temperature.
But physically in animals the females are the ones that produces the "egg cell" a really big cell that contains not only the genetic material but also all the components to start and produce a complete new life, the males are those that produce a "sperm cell" a really small an mobile cell that cointains just the genetic material that will fuse with the egg cell genetic material to produce a new life.
But this only if the offspring has double set of chromosomes, but that's a story for another time because then we should talk about partenogis and this is just a random biology fun facts put to explain an idea of kryptonian biology with oviposition.
So yeah all of this was a post for another idea of kryptonian biology and maybe a little angst for a middle life crisis for Clark. Hope someone will use this for a fic, because it would be fun to read

I got a kryptonian biology idea, so you know how some people write E-rated fics with kryptonian biology and oviposition, so here my opinion on it, and some alien biology ideas
ok from now on some terminology may be wrong, because I learned it in a different language and I'll put the world in italian like this (termine in italiano)
ok, so you know how a lot of people write the eggs as actual reproductive cells (gameti) , and (at least for kryptonians) make the excuse of it as having more chance for impregnation or things like that? Well, I got a better Idea:
first thing first, some basic biology how egg cells are actually made (remember all of this is a semplification):
the egg cell (cellula uovo) is one of the biggest cells ever, you can litterally see it with naked eye (even the human one in the right conditions).
Let's take for an example a chiken egg, we can divide it in 3 general parts for simplicity:
eggshell
egg white (albume, formed in the fallopian tube)
yolk (tuorlo, formed in the ovaries)
the yolk it's the egg cell itself, and it's composed by the yolk itself that act like the starch (amido) you can find in seeds, so to give nutrients to grow the embryo (us mammals have little to nothing of yolk in our egg cells because we use the placenta to give nutrients and other things to grow the embryo)
Ok, after this small bio lesson let's get to the Kryptonians
so, Kryptonians started having tube babies because they had difficulties getting pregnant and generally having succeful pregnancies (apart from all of that eugenetic shit that they started at a certain point) so, here to you my idea
Kryptonian embrios have a really small umbelical cord, or at least it's pretty small for like the first halfish of the pregnancy, it's big enough for gas (like oxygen) and waste material to pass, so the fetus can't really get the nutrients from the mother.
Kryptonian egg cell has yolk, but not enought for the first half of the pregnancy, so the males produce 2 tipes of "reproductive cells" one that is actually a reproductive cell, so the sperm and the other that acts like yolk (the eggs for the oviposition)
so the kryptonian eggs in that male kryptonians produce don't have any genetic material, only nutrients, then during fecondation the 3 (egg cell, sperm, and yolk egg) merge togheter and this increase the chances for a successful pregnancy
and that's it, that's my headcanon about kryptonian oviposition

timkon baby au (specifically what Kara says about trans kryptonian)
Ok so, male and female kryptonian have similiar reproductive cells, and male kryptonians produce eggs (and with this oviposition), but they only contain half the DNA needed to have a child
so, to obtain mpreg it's kida rare, because except the partner dosen't produce eggs themself or this egg dosen't get fertilized with sperm, the egg will dissolve after some time.
so, to make so that there will be a pregnancy, because kryptonian pregnancy are usually flexible in where they happends thanks to their biology it can also sligtly modify the host (the pregnant person) body to sustain the pregnancy itself
but for this pregnancy to happend the egg inserted needs to have a mutation that will make it so to be diploid and not aploid like it would normally happens
