I'm Ozymandias (You can use any kind of nickname from that). I'm Deaf and possibly got the 'tism or ADHD. I'm a severely mixed POC Trans-guy. My brain is constantly in sports mode zoom. I love to write and feed my brain worms. I'm in too many fandoms to count for myself and have too many WIPs.
Just as a FYI - Most of my writing is 18+ cause of violence, swearing, and a lot of fucked up things that varies between each story. Also activity/posting may be slow as I have to actively fight myself to post or interact with others that I do not know IRL in some kind of way.

on the topic of disabled characters, though, i think a LOT of artists give characters mobility aids that their character wouldn't actually benefit from using.
i'm sort of having a mild brain fog moment rn so i can't fully articulate what i'm on about, but i think a lot of able-bodied artists view things like canes and crutches as interchangeable. and they often don't know enough about the wide range of mobility aids to make an informed decision about what their character might actually use based on their disability
i also think that aids like walkers and rollators are sort of viewed as "cringe" on some level, and many people view them to be "just for old people," so many artists will opt for giving a character who has full-body pain and fatigue a cane (which, in many cases, can potentially WORSEN full-body pain) instead. and a lot of people don't realize that most wheelchair users are able to walk, so they don't consider it an option for characters with chronic pain
idk it's kind of frustrating. i've genuinely never, ever seen a character that uses a rollator before. not once. i cannot name a single one. i know of multiple ocs who are described to have full-body pain, dizziness, and fatigue that are drawn as cane users and are never shown with wheelchairs or walkers, though
it's also sort of sad? i've been diagnosed since i was twelve years old, and i only heard of rollators LAST YEAR. and that was only because i saw one irl and immediately asked what it was. i wonder how many disabled people out there don't even know it's an option solely because they're completely underrepresented online and in media
if you're a creative with a disabled oc, PLEASEEE check out this link. it's a very nice and detailed guide for telling which mobility aids suit someone's needs best. it's incredibly important to make the right choice for your character! mobility aids tell you a LOT about someone's lived experience. picking the right one will communicate to your audience #1 what your character goes through #2 that you UNDERSTAND what your character goes through!
I’ve seen this circulating forever and genuinely thought “no way do I have any of them following me” until this week when it turned out I had all these fuckin “MAP” (pedophile) followers sad to find out I’m an “anti” (normal person)
Please leave and also please get guinea worm.
hey! came in to recommend some Black youtubers, i searched your blog and saw someone already recommended the podcast sad boyz (jarvis johnson and jordan adika) but i'd also like to recommend jarvis johnson himself, he makes commentary and reaction videos about current trends and he's very supportive of lgbtq+! he has multiple channels (the second one is slightly more professional/edited) so i'll include both!
https://www.youtube.com/@JarvisJohnsonGOLD
https://www.youtube.com/@jarvis
and i'd also like to recommend boze vs the world! i started watching her fairly recently under recommendation from a Black friend of mine so i don't know everything she does, but she makes videos about true crime and how to identify a narcissist + how to handle their behaviour, she's very clear and understanding with her explanations and i just love her silly reactions to the crazier things that happen in the videos she commentates on. despite the topics she's very energetic and fun and she's quickly becoming a favorite of mine
https://www.youtube.com/@bozevstheworld
(and i apologize if the links don't work, i haven't sent links through a tumblr ask before so i'm not sure how to embed 😭)
Idk bout the "spotting a narcissist" bit 😅 maybe try to stay off that path. Other than that, thanks for sharing!
🙋🏾♀️ Hello, I would like to add my two cents into the whole "spotting a narcissist" that Boze has, as a fan of hers for a couple years (I think, time is hard for me). Also feel free to ignore this and apologies for any rambling, hard to read stuff, spelling, and formatting errors. (I am doing this from my phone and not laptop).
(I've been kind of stewing on this since I first saw it when it was originally posted, because I really enjoy Boze's content and I understood what the asker meant, but I also know that I don't really have any perceived (in my opinion) leg room to speak out about it. Also it kind of activated my social fight or flight response, as I am someone who severely struggles with, one getting my foot into a conversation that isn't structured, and two, having an opinion or comment, saying it, then realizing that I can't form the right words to say it aloud and therefore have it be taken in a completely different way or ignored completely.)
TW: General talk/topics of true crime and serial killers
Boze has two channels(with one side podcast that is just about general pop culture news), the one mentioned by the asker(is that what they're called?), is her main channel BOZE vs THE WORLD, where she has occasionally a few bodycam videos that are cross-posted across both channels. But the primary thing on her main channel is a podcast/video cast where she does a deep dive into female serial killers(the quality has definitely improved as well as Boze just establishing/adjusting boundaries as her opinion on certain things change) and potentially why they did the things they did. Some of the examples that pop up in my head are her videos about (former) Dr. Amy Bishop and Jodi Arias, and what Boze tries to do in the deep dive videos is to humanize the killer, because behavior has to be learned somewhere, but. Also condemn the killer's actions.
Another part of Boze's main channel is watching court proceedings and explaining it to the best of her abilities, as I to my knowledge, I don't believe she went to college for anything within law or criminal justice, so you can take everything with a grain of salt, but that is something she heavily encourages.
Now, onto the whole "spotting a narcissist". (the quotation marks are not meant to be sarcastic, I am just using the wording of the asker and response.) Boze, herself, has announced that she doesn't like using the term "narcissist" because of how other true crime enthusiasts pretty much slap it as a label to anyone and anything for clicks smd views. The few times she does use it is during "Narc Week" which is hosted primarily on her main channel, but is also cross-posted to her second channel. It is a planned annual "week" where she posts at least five (5) videos daily, that are pretty lengthy, and are primarily bodycams, where the person that is being analyzed is used to point out some common abusive/toxic/negative behavior, phrases, "tactics" and other such things, that I believe are more associated as the negative aspects of Narcissist Personality Disorder, and to the commentators and the responder, I do agree there needs to be more positive light on NPD, but unfortunately within this situation, it's hard to have that in the sense of true crime. And Boze does this to help people figure out if maybe a person like their parent or a friend uses these "tatics" to try to get the advantage of them and then ways to potentially counter that. An example is the "explain my bad behavior to me", which is used to make you second guess yourself often, where a person may ask you to explain what they did wrong and won't budge until you either give up or finally give an answer they can work with(twist the narrative), and a counter to that is knowing that a. You have proof of the bad thing that happened, b. Having the ability to trust yourself and your gut instinct, or c. You plainly state the facts and don't repeat yourself. Other times where Boze'll use the word "narcissist" in her titles(which outside of "Narc Week" I think is less than twenty (20) over a five (5) year span) is where there is either a confirmed diagnosis of NPD, or there isn't one quite yet but all of the neon signs are pointing towards the negative aspects of NPD.
You can also take my opinion with a grain of salt as I don't had NPD or any diagnosis that would be similar to that, as well as the fact that, I, myself have been severely desensitized to anything related to true crime as that was/is the main thing that my mother and I could bond over from when I was quite young.
Why is it that every time I google something like "Are olives poisonous to cats" the top results are always like "Fun fact: Cats are carnivores! This means that they eat meat. There is no reason to include olives in a cat's diet. You should feed your cat cat food, which is dry or wet food especially designed for cats. You can purchase this at a store." like is there a single person alive on the planet who's googled "Are blueberry muffins safe for cats" because they're planning on switching their cat to a muffin-only diet??? No, I'm asking because the little bastard somehow popped open the packet while I was putting away the groceries and dragged one under the couch before I could react and now I need to know if I should call the after-hours vet. "Cats should not eat spaghetti." NO SHIT, SHERLOCK!!!! "Try to keep human food away from cats." i live in a studio apartment with a completely silent and permanently hungry apex predator who has the intelligence of a toddler and the desperate Machiavellian cunning of a creature who spent his formative months on the streets. He can already open doors and he is this 👌 close to learning how to open the microwave. He is stronger than me and covered in knives. So im gonna do my best but for the moment i just need you to tell me whether this yoghurt is going to kill my son y/n
I've been using the pet poison hotline's poison list cause it has a search function. It also tells you whether something is mildly, moderately, or severely toxic which can be very handy! It doesn't contain like everything but it might be a good place to start, it also includes plants for fellow houseplant lovers <3

For plants specifically, there’s also a wildly detailed set of posts and listings about toxicity on the old, wonderful, Plants Are the Strangest People blog
truly the idea of "this scene is (un-)necessary to the story" is such a fundamentally uncurious and anti-art way of engaging with fiction. the story itself is unnecessary, in the sense that all art is unnecessary, because art is not a fucking optimization problem. that's the beauty of it
(Also @ccmiyo if there's any of my children that i forgot to add that I yapped to you about, feel free to hound me also some of them won't be mentioned because they've most likely been sent to the depths of the production factory.)

finally grew the balls to do an update post in the middle of a muthafuckin heatwave where I live (makes me wish I didn't take a gap year and were already in Montana) :(
First things first:
I DID THAT MUTHAFUCKIN THANG!!!!!!!!!!!!! aka I graduated high school
second thing:
I'll hopefully give a update on the DC x POkemon AU I have soon. That unfortunately got put on a back burner to my other poke fic and then other fics. Trust that the teams didn't change much I just decided to make life hard for me by breaking the teams down via their roles in the team, movesets, and fifty-eleven other things.
third thing:
I'll be updating my fandoms list as well, but I got Final Fantasy 15 a couple weeks ago (I think? time is a soup for me) but I haven't started playing as I want to experience it with a friend who've I've been tormenting with my insanity about Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts @ccmiyo (I'm so sorry for dragging you into the chaos that is most of my fandoms and my mind), when we're both available during the summer. As well as restarting KH3 after a 6 year hiatus from it and am now onto the DLC to get the general story of the game down before doing a (hopefully) completionist run of it also with @ccmiyo as audience (again I am SO sorry).
fourth thing:
I hope to be actually updating more often during the summer and following gap year and giving you guys more opportunity to ask things and yap in the yap box. Starting with compiling a list of the current OCs that I have something solid written down about so you can ask about them and learn a bit of my insanity. Might even redo my CharacterHub to display those OCs as well.
Reblog to let your followers know that despite your current obsession your previous obsessions still exist and are simply lying dormant until they awaken and strike again
Wanted to thank everyone who responded to my last post! <3 (Which you can still comment and give your input! Also wanted to give an update and some more info that I think ya'll like (AKA, my OC for this story)! I'll go in alphabetical order (Excluding my OC since I want them to be a surprise for you)! The characters that have their names in a color mean that their team is complete. Also feel free to ask in my inbox or even the comments for my opinions and reasonings (which I give a brief reasoning before revealing each team) or just general questions you have about this story! Sorry this is a kinda a long ass post.
Starting with Bruce!
I imagine him having pokemon that can come off as scary but are actually kind, i.e. their pokedex entries across all games have a mention of them caring for others, or "service" pokemon. Like the pokemon we typically see in the background of the various medias that work alongside their trainers to do a service for the public. I also see him with having the smallest team in the family outside of Hal because I think that he didn't catch them, rather they caught him after seeing him do something that put him in their good graces and never left the man alone after that.
Did I lie saying I see her with fighting or psychic types? Yes. Do I care? No. I gave her the baby forms of her team because I think she's really like to (and should) be able to grow and bloom with her team. I picked pokemon where in their pokedex entries across the games have to do with them fighting or being a warrior.
Fun Fact: He was the owner of the first pokemon I knew for sure I wanted to add to a DC story with the whole storyline of my OC (Who had a complete personality and team shift from back then to now) gifting it to him out of his own boxes/storage because he thought Dami and the Fomantis would benefit from each other. And thanks to @hana-yori-dango-forever for suggesting one of Damian's team members and also giving me a way to honor the original form of my OC (Who I was about to straight up steal from another fic of mine) with said pokemon <3! I gave Dami pokemon that requires lots of care/ high friendship in order to evolve.
To be fair with Dick, I think He's the only one where I'm kinda breaking the rule that I typically make pokemon teams to (For fics or even just to play the games I have) where there is some sort of theme either with typings or a concept/ category. For Dick, I'm kinda freeballing here and I guess you can say he's following my rule because I typically see his pokemon as more "performative".
I wanted to give him pokemon that have a light motif in my eyes or in canon. I also see him being a strictly Z-Move user, Not because he's Black (that's weird, also I'm Black so still no with no excuses) but I can see a cute bonding moment with him and Cass where they practice the motions needed for using said Z-Moves. I also want to give him a legendary because I heard that he might be immortal cause his dad is(?).
I instantly knew which pokemon (shout out to Cam Steady on Youtube as I played his song for this pokemon on repeat) I was going to give Hal. In general all GLs would have some sort of space related pokemon, but I have Hal this one because, one I think their motives and passions are quite similar, secondly if I am to remember correctly (unless it was retconned or whatever) Hal is supposed to be THE Green Lantern as in the best of the the best or something like that, so that makes him more than deserving of this pokemon in my eyes.
While I know he's the "black sheep" and "emo and moody" one in the eyes of the current writers and most of the fandom, and I'm sure people that also have Pokemon AUs (I've seen very few) tend to lean into this perception of him, I'mma be different and throw a curveball, that is if you actually pay attention to the pokedex entries from across all games like me, but on a surface level it won't seem like I did except for one pokemon. That was a long ass sentence sorry. But I also know that Jason was one, if not THE, most compassionate Robins when it came to dealing with victims and what I mean is he didn't really need that skill trained/taught to him, hence why I gave him the pokemon I did. Also fun fact, all of his team is fem, cause I think it would be funny that he'd announce his team like "Did you meet my ladies?" or something along that line.
I immediately recognized Tim as being an Electric type trainer cause he is a tech bro in my head. but not a shitty one, he's a decent man with his uniqueness. There's only one (1) pokemon on his team that isn't a electric but its ok since it's entire moveset is only electric move. I see Tim being the only one, outside of my OC (Ignoring Bruce since he doesn't even have his team in pokeballs), to give his pokemon the opportunity to choose whether or not they want to be in their pokeballs. I also see Tim working with his pokemon in his day to day, even going as far as having the only non-electric pokemon on his team become a service animal for him.
He's originally from Lavender Town before he and his family moved to my new region, Laeta. He specializes in Ghost types, but more specifically the ones that deal with curses or negative energy in any way, seeing as he kinda grew up in a place that people say is cursed and avoided it like the plague or voice their discomfort often if they have to go to his hometown. That gave him compassion to the Ghost pokemon that most people tended to avoid just because of the connotations related to those pokemon.
Take a break. Take a sip of your drink, eat your snack, take a nap, sleep, whatever. This'll be a somewhat long-ish lore dump as I'll try to explain some things I did in the previous blocks that I didn't mention in the beginning as it would've been a spoiler in my opinion.
"...The region of Leata (Which according to Poke (Google) Translate is "Lush" in Latin) is a small one and was closed off to the other regions for widespread tourism until the recent century for a variety of reasons. The towns are few and spread out, the cities even fewer compared to the scale of other regions of similar size, preferring to integrate the lives of humans and pokemon more seamlessly by having "loose" borders for their towns and cities and not having defined "wild zones" as the belief throughout the region is that pokemon and humans were never supposed to be separated. Now outsiders might be very confused at this belief and they systems within the region, I mean it's not every day that you see a "wild" pokemon hopping on the northbound intertown/city bus by itself, no trainer in sight, but for the locals it's a very normal sight. See in Leata, they established systems where pokemon could have their own jobs in exchange for supplies, shelter, experience points, whatever they want, have hotels and services dedicated to just pokemon. And if you ask the locals, specifically the elders, they'll tell you that this way life is what makes Leata so special and is the founding grounds for a phenomena that happens in abundance in the region, Battle Bonding. I mean we all seen what happens in battle with Ash Ketchum and his Greninja, that whole weird new form that it gains without mega evolving, if you haven't hop on PokeTube (Youtube) and search it up, it's fascinating. Apparently, that's what was happening, this whole Battle Bonding of Leata is a whole new form pokemon and their trainers acquire in battle when they have such a strong bond that they seemingly become as close to one being as two can be..."
-Excerpt from a user on LuxForums (A blog website)
"Top Ten Things To Do in Leata!
... ... ...
Don't know what to watch?
Want something to watch in Leata? Well my friends, during my travels through the region, I discovered that there's a multitude of ways to entertain yourself via a screen! In Leata it's required for prospects of the Gym Challenge get a PokeTube channel and vlog their adventures so officials can ensure there's no cheating and to make the Gym Challenge seem more approachable for those worried to participate! On top of that Each gym is themed around a unique concept! With Historical Conservation efforts being spearheaded by Gym Leader Marcus and his Aggron to getting pumped up though second-handed energy from Gym Leader Harper and her Watteral while they display the multitude of sports out on the water! There's so many various topics one can watch from because of the Gym Leaders and Elite Four, but the best one in my opinion is a secret little thing. Champion Austen, a Strong Ghost type trainer, supposedly has 6 pokemon, but no one, and absolutely, no one has ever seen his 6th member and many believe it's either his Battle Bonded partner or that he's not even battle bonded for having his pokemon team from the start of his Gym Challenge! He never even switched his team around, even if he would be at a type disadvantage!..."
Now that I got those little fun blurbs out of the way, let's do some explaining. As briefly mentioned in the first excerpt, Leata's whole gameplay mechanic, if it were a game, is Battle Bonding, which is inspired by Ash Greninja. It happens when a trainer and a pokemon have a really close bond that they can understand each other without words. For the Batfam teams that I have solidified the highlighted pokemon is the Battle Bonded pokemon. Battle Bonding causes both the pokemon and trainer to have a change in appearances, while some trainers may lean more into the aesthetics of their battle bonded partner completely, like going all out gijinkas, others tend to be more subtle with that. The appearance of Leata is that there's no visible way to tell where a town ends and where the Wild Area starts because there is no discernible difference in this region, as long ago, some historians state since the founding of Leata, the citizens of Leata been building to integrate spaces for both pokemon and people to live side by side as separate entities. Here you'll see some poke centers or marts run solely by pokemon on the first floor and the above floors being apartments or hotels for pokemon and people alike, people and pokemon riding the same bus to head to work or for travel, ect. As well as pokemon specific services, centers, and communities.
I'm working on my DC x Pokemon AU! right now and and stuck with making the teams :( and would like your inputs. I'm mostly deciding based on pokedex entries and typings over vibes or move sets(I'll decide the moves later but those are really dependent on the typing, how I see what their battle style is, and what role that pokemon would have on the team).
So far I have the full team for my OC Austen, and Hal Having Rayquaza and only Rayquaza. I need help deciding for the other batfam teams. I have some vibes or pokemon for them which I'll list.
Bruce: Zoroark
Cass: fighting or psychic types
Damian: Fomantis gifted by my OC
Duke: fire/electric types or based on light
Dick: ?
Jason: has Indeedee, want to say dark types mostly with the theme of taking care of others
I like to think that before Jason died, he start a little collection of library cards and continues the collection through his travels or whenever he's renewing his library card after he’s revived.
Before Jason's death- imagine Bruce taking Jason to the library after taking him in and upon Jason’s request. Jason is panicking and struggling to choose which library card design while we have Bruce trying to tell him that it's okay (the entire batfam- Bruce, Alfred, Dick, and Barbara at the time ends up getting one of each design for Jason to feel a little more confident of his choice and of course, Jason borrow theirs whenever he feels like it)
Bruce and Alfred giving Jason their library cards from their youth which he's fascinated by how different and unique the designs are
During/After Jason's death- I would say Barbara put aside some library card designs that she thinks Jason would like (benefits of being a librarian) or Dick collecting a few from his travels/Blüdhaven in a way to honor Jason
After Jason's return to the batfam, Jason is complete "awe" of all the past library card designs that he missed during his death and has a big binder for all of them
Bonus: If there's a special and limited edition of library cards based on strong female authors (Example- Jane Austen for Pride and Prejudice , Mary Shelley for Frankenstein, Charlotte Brontë for Jane Eyre, and Emily Brontë for Wuthering Heights) in different locations like Gotham City , Metropolis, Central City , and Star City.
Which Bruce either sends out the rest of his kids or uses connections to get the other card designs for Jason who is panicking and struggling to decide which city to use his alias to get (Bruce def reminisces a young Jason before his death) or Jason annoying his family about it
Inspired by the limited edition of Laufeybookclub collaborative cards and tiktok videos of California Library Cards Collection
Plus the hcs of Tim Drake having photos during his stalking days (pre-robin) for his hobby and honestly why not let Jason have one too!
