Kingsman - watched The Golden Circle yesterday. More of the same formula, but turned to eleven. Kingsman is great fun, it just works for me in a way that Kick-Ass and other slow-mo-heavy films don’t. In a similar vein, while red check isn’t a staple of men’s bespoke, I am a fan of the cut of this jacket.
I wrote in detail about the making of this coordinate on my blog: Coordinate Closeup: Kingsman
jacket - MOGAO
blouse - offbrand
vest - offbrand, BCVOGA
skirt - Bodyline l325
tights - offbrand
shoes - Clarks
bag - offbrand
bow tie - improvised from a satin sash
It’s a shame that this is the one film that prominently features spectacles, and I forgot to wear mine. I’ve been so used to putting on contacts for lolita that I did it that morning out of habit. It seems I’m always in a hurry when it comes to daily dressing; lolita takes me time to put on, and sometimes I see the point of collecting one-piece dresses.
A fun fact: I got a huge kick out of the music they used for the trailer, because Frank Sinatra’s My Way is something of a local legend.
Karaoke is massive in the Philippines. Karaoke can be as cheap as P5 (approx. 10 US cents) in open-air karaoke bars; and the problem is that when anyone can sing, everyone who can hear you has an opinion. Some people are so passionate about singing the song just so, that it gets to the point of fistfights and shootings; the phenomenon has been dubbed the 'My Way Killings'.
Solution? Get a private karaoke booth. And maybe some vocal lessons. It always helps to sing on-key.
Simple coord for Shavuot eve with my FoO.
Everything is bodyline (skirt, blouse, headdress) except underskirt (MeLikesTea), tights (Off brand) and shoes Teva Naot).
I'm just starting in lolita, and planning to get L325 in brown. Would it go with a white blouse/white tights/small brown hairbow/black mary-janes? For steampunk, can it work with brown boots that go to just below the knee + lace up at the back?
In theory all of that could work but there are so many variations of all of those things that it’s hard to give you a definite answer without actually seeing the specific items.
Chiharu - the Japan Foundation held a series of exhibits and activities celebrating the Philippines - Japan friendship month at Shangri-La Plaza. Eiga Sai was just the start! I redid an older Wa coordinate, changing out the shoes and hair. It’s also surprising how much difference a juban (under-robe) makes in the overall shape! You can see the difference from the older coordinate is HERE.
blue kimono and tsuke obi - present from a friend of my mother’s. This is a full-length silk robe, and very heavy.
scarf (worn as obiage) - MOGAO
juban from Sam Khloey
corset skirt - Bodyline l325
flowers (x2) - ToxicKitty
shoes, hat and bag - offbrand
tights - Bodyline
blouse - #21 from my wardrobe post; I’ve since reconsidered my stance on full blouses under kimono, as they help to even out the silhouette and so the kimono sits better (curves = bunching and wrinkling)

Akiha - Eiga Sai with the KimonoPH crew! It was a very enjoyable day- we watched ‘Anthem of the Heart’ [trailer] and had tea at TWG after. The mall staff liked our ensembles so much they showed us around the exhibits the mall had up for this coming week, celebrating Japanese culture.
