Mystic Falls Gangs From Various Generations Materlist
Some of these are still technically in the OC oven but!!!! They exist enough that I'll mention them here even if they don't make it into other posts. Again I stole the format from @theabditories!
The Oldies ✶ (Sheila’s era!)
Heathrow Melrose ✶ The heir of a minor founding family that has run the local funeral home for generations. I have a whole family breakdown here. He’s married to Madeline and is Sophronia’s father.
Madeline Donovan ✶ Kelly’s older sister by, like, twenty-ish years. The Woke Left will point out that her younger sister dropping out of school at sixteen and her mother trotting out little Kelly as the result of a cryptid pregnancy was a little weird. Do they have a point? Perhaps but please stop asking about it!!!
The Proto-Gang ✶ (This is Grayson’s era. It includes: Abby, Bill, Carol, Grayson, Kelly, Liz, Miranda, Richard, and Zach. Rudy, Gail, Tripp, and Pastor Young are typically adjacent members.)
William “Liam” Sommers ✶ Born in 1970, Liam is two years older than Miranda and graduated with Carol and Richard. He is a lifelong bachelor, a known slut, and an infamous third in several relationships. He had a threesome with Liz and Bill (a long time in the making) and was unofficially the reason for their divorce. On the flip side, he accidentally saved Richard and Carol’s marriage during theirs. He also had a thing with Abby/Rudy and some deeply strange energy with Grayson. Despite the reputation, Liam is surprisingly responsible—he’s been the Whitmore College IT guy for, like, twenty years so he’s pretty stable. Vicki calls him to bail her out of trouble all the time because he’s friends with Kelly, and he is the Designated Adult the rest of the gang sends to check in on her kids. He’s basically the gang’s fun uncle, except he’s slept with half their parents. (AU: a different Sommers sibling gets custody of Elena and Jeremy.)
Known kisser of: the entire proto-MFG at various points. He was an object of affection for Jenna’s generation (much to her disgust) and kisses Mason a little bit when he comes back as an adult.
He was sort of infamous for being in love with Abby’s cousin Pauline in high school, but in his main AU she’s murdered (more on that in her entry). Every few years he donates another significant portion of money to one of those cold-case organizations that offers cash rewards for any information leading to a conviction.
Pauline Bennett ✶ Technically!!!! Not an OC but I’ve claimed her! She’s Liam’s lady love, but she exists in my stories even when Liam doesn’t. She is most often the Bennett I have Grayson and Abby kill to put Mikael down, which gets Abby cut off from the ancestors. When Pauline doesn’t die, her father—August, another Bennett OC of mine and one of Sheila’s unnamed siblings—is the one they kill and Pauline dies soon after. A very tragic girl. In rare AUs where she survives, she takes over raising Bonnie.
Marigold Lockwood ✶ Richard and Mason’s sister, born between them but much closer in age to Richard. She triggers her witch gene around the same time Richard triggers the werewolf curse, and throws herself into finding a cure for lycanthropy, no matter the cost. Because Marigold is a Lockwood, close with the Gilbert brothers, and evil, she becomes involved not only with the Council, but also with Augustine. She plays the field by selling daylight rings to Slater on the side in exchange for information. Eventually, Marigold’s hunt for a cure takes her to New Orleans, where she meets Marcel a few years before the Crescent curse. When baby Hayley needs somewhere to go, Marcel chooses the not-quite-friendly, but at least familiar Lockwood witch he knows—and, well, Marigold isn’t maternal, but Carol very much is. (AU: Hayley is raised as a member of the Lockwood family.)
Known kisser of: a big proponent of evil polyamory among the proto-MFG. Long-standing situationship with Zach Salvatore. Sometimes she dog-walks Elijah with Katherine. She kisses Rias’s (@theabditories) OC Poppy religiously.
The Bridge-Gang ✶ (This is Jenna’s era. It includes: Andie, Jenna, John, Logan, Mason, and Meredith. Sometimes William Tanner, Isobel, and Trudie Peterson are adjacent members.)
Sophronia Melrose ✶ A gaslight-gatekeep girlboss wakes up in a world she remembers from TV reruns and wiki binges, stranded in a small-town funeral home twenty minutes outside Mystic Falls—and directly in the path of the Mikaelsons. Unfortunately for her, this reality comes with soulmates. (AU: sideways fix-it fic meets a secret comedy of errors and the isekai soulmate trope, featuring a secretly psycho FL.)
Known kisser of the Mikaelsons. Sometimes she gets to dog-walk Damon. OG!Fronia was canonically a Jenna and Mason kisser.
Eleanor Gilbert ✶ Grayson and John’s younger sister, though she’s significantly closer in age to John (he’s, like, four-ish years older than her) than Grayson. She’s a member of The Five, and accidentally triggers her curse as a teenager, becoming part of Alexander’s weird, curse-given hive mind, where she has dozens upon dozens of former hunters bumping around in her head and bossing her around. Initially tis was meant to be a soulmate AU, but I’m rethinking that. I like the storyline, but I think it’s probably more fun if I take it in a different direction. (AU: Jeremy isn't the Gilbert family's first supernatural hunter.)
Known kisser of: Elijah. This will probably change though—in my most recent review of her outline and the chapters I’ve written, I realized I don’t love the version of her that emerges after she gets entangled with him. In another life, she could be a Tristan kisser, but he’s too much of a coward to try this luck. Definitely a Silas kisser if they ever meet.
If you ask me, she is secretly a kisser of many of Rias’s most dangerous hotties but!!!! A rare L where I have not discussed this with them. Perhaps in another life (a few weeks from now) I will update this post to include some of those.
Christopher and Seth Fell ✶ Christopher is the father of the three Fell sisters: Valerie, Tina, and Blair. Seth is Violet’s father. They’re Logan’s older brothers. They’re keeping secrets together and doing creepy stuff with the Augustine Society with Wes Maxfield and the Whitmore siblings.
Opal Bennett ✶ Abby Bennett’s baby sister—she was going to be around eleven when Mikael rolled into town, but I found out that Rias had a whole squad of 1991 OCs and I started to feel left out, so she’s, like, four or five now instead. A few years later, she finds out portions of the truth and decides that if Klaus Mikaelson is destined to come for Elena one day, then someone ought to be ready to put him down. On her quest to become the person to do the putting down, she gets witchnapped by Tristan and becomes part of his pet coven. Eventually (because she is a trained Bennett witch and therefore not especially stoppable) Opal leaves the Strix behind and heads to New Orleans, where her research into the Mikaelsons continues through more kidnapping, minor breaking and entering, and the usual gradual collapse of everyone’s best-laid plans. (AU: get in, losers, let’s make the golden dagger right this time.)
Known kisser of: Kol and Rebekah, mostly. A notorious Freya kisser and they end up accidentally hurting each other in such acute ways that neither of them ever really gets over it. Sometimes I let Tristan sleep with her because I think it’s hot.
Rias’s Anthony Lockwood is her appropriate teenage boyfriend for a hot minute before he starts kissing someone else and Opal gets really into supernatural murder mysteries professionally. She kisses the entire Koriam + Atlas group (Atlas is her favorite, which is typical) on the regular and sometimes @neeeeeklaus’s Freya II.
Tyla Lockwood ✶ aka Female!Tyler Lockwood. In several versions, she is a kisser of the Mikaelsons as a messed-up unit… and sometimes Klaus digs his nails in too deep and she never gets to kiss Rebekah like she so deeply desires. In every AU she gets to make out absolutely sloppy with Hayley—in at least one of those versions, she runs off with Finn the night of the Ball.
Famous kisser of Rias’s Tyra (bowshipping <3 my beloved) and Atlas (also famous to me btw <3). Soren enjoys kissing her but is turned off by how absolutely insane Klaus gets about it. Tyla finds him to be a little spineless as result—which is maybe a cruel interpretation of the facts… but not entirely inaccurate. She probably tells him the best part of kissing him is his husband at some point. I look forward to seeing whether that hurts his feelings or makes it hotter for him.
She gets absolutely dog nasty with Freya II btw.
In versions where Liv shows up, no one else manages to kiss her without going through Liv. She has a weird situationship with fellow Mikaelson victim Jemma when they exist together.
Natalie Gilbert ✶ Born dead due to some doppelganger nonsense and brought back by Abby, so Nat grows up as a medium who can see the ghosts of pretty much anyone with a vested interest in her existence. Unfortunately, in a practical sense, this means other doppelgangers and anyone with a reason to be interested in Klaus’s curse—so, a lot of former Mikaelson Brides and Wives—which means she grows up knowing she is destined to die.
Leading up to the sacrifice, Klaus tosses a coin and ends up killing Elena in this version too, then snatches Natalie and Stefan in the aftermath. After some trial and error, he realizes he can use Natalie’s blood to make his hybrids. With no reason to return to Mystic Falls, he drags the pair to New Orleans instead—leaving Elena, Jeremy, and a surviving Jenna searching for her.
In New Orleans, Klaus (for reasons) decides it’s finally time to reunite the band—so suddenly Finn is free after nine centuries, Kol has access to New Orleans witches again, Rebekah is trapped in the same city as Marcel, Stefan, and a doppelganger, and Elijah is lowkey disturbed by what Klaus’s relationship with Nat has become. Meanwhile, Natalie, Stefan, and Marcel quietly ally against Klaus and save Monique and Davina from the Harvest along the way. While all that is happening Jackson breaks his sire bond and becomes Natalie’s Tyler-equivalent, Eva starts kidnapping children, Celeste returns to town, Kieran tells Sean the truth, Henrik’s ghost starts demanding Natalie rescue “his sister” from a witch asylum, the Mystic Falls gang stumble onto Hayley while searching for Natalie, and Klaus, unfortunately for absolutely everyone, starts developing human emotions for the girl he has already thoroughly ruined things with. (AU: obligatory doppeltwin AU.)
Known kisser of: many, many, many people, but chief among them are Elena, Sean, Davina, Monique, Kol, and Rebekah. She is an infamous Klaus kisser and hater. Elijah wishes they were kissing sooooo badly. She would like to be a Vicki kisser, but Vicki thinks she’s sort of lame most of the time. In some versions, she kisses Stefan, but they’re both secretly thinking about Elena the whole time. Spiritually Natalie is always a Tyler kisser, but she rarely gets the chance to try. There is an AU where Tyler and Natalie are both Klaus kissers against their will and are willing to do unspeakable things to save the other.
Nat is highkey married to Rias’s Astoria and by extension Jeremy, and she is also a significant figure in the Soriam poly monster ship. She enjoys kissing Soren and is trying to get him to scheme with her in any AU where they exist together—but she will happily settle for Atlas, whom she finds more reasonable. @endless-natterings's babe Jimena and @mariedemedicis’s OC Abby kiss her often (in my heart)
Cosette Donovan ✶ 1994 baby!!! Exists as the twin sister of @theabditories’s OC Lizzie Donovan. Very rarely does Cos exists on her own, but when she does, it’s palpable that she's missing something.
In her main story she goes to cheer camp the summer the Gilbert parents die and gets final-girled by a vampire, but manages to kill him after he rips through everyone else. She is an absolutely turbo-bitch conspiracy nut after that (and a little bit before too) who knows her sister didn’t run away. She eventually uncovers the full truth and makes a deal with the Martins—she’ll free Elijah in exchange for them killing the Salvatores. She holds up her end, but then the Martins die, so she pivots and makes the same deal with Elijah: she’ll help with the Klaus plot if he kills the Salvatores. She follows through. He doesn’t. So she pivots again. She makes a deal with Rebekah when she comes to town—same end terms—but then Rebekah gets daggered. Then it’s Mikael. He dies. Then Klaus. She fulfills her side and helps him find the coffins, and he doesn’t follow through because of his whole Stefan-shaped situationship. At some point, she saves Finn’s life at the Grill and makes another deal with Finn and Sage. (AU: local final girl’s conspiracy board is starting to deeply concern the people who love her.)
Known kisser of: Rebekah, usually. She kisses Lizzie and fem!Matt. She also gets really weird with Elena—and Natalie and fem!Jeremy as an extension. In my head, she tries talking Rias’s Mikaelsons into making even more deals—how successful that goes is undecided. If you ask me she is a famous Tyra kisser.
Laurel Lockwood ✶ Tyler's little sister!! The werewolf member of the 1994 gang!!! My favorite version of her damage is where Tyler is Tyla, but she’s fun regardless! A bit bitchy, sure! But she’s funky and fresh.
She’s wanted to kiss Jeremy for most of her life and then he started kissing Bonnie, and Laurel realized that actually she wanted to kiss Bonnie too!! She joins Qetsiyah as a member of the “both of my crushes have decided to bypass me in order to kiss each other instead” club. She takes it very poorly and retaliates by trying—and failing—to kiss Elena. She shoots her shot one more time, drunk as hell, and successfully kisses Katherine Pierce (based as hell btw) then gets extra embarrassed because Elena acts like nothing happened the next day. Now they are enemies forever and she’s decided that she will kiss Jenna in retaliation, only to miss her chance when Jenna dies, which means she’s back to square one!!! Which means she’s needs to kiss Jeremy or die trying!!!! That’ll show Elena!!! And Bonnie!!!! And Jeremy also, somehow!!
In the end, she trips and falls into becoming a Jackson Kenner kisser through the power of ending up in NOLA after Tyler kills his girlfriend (who Laurel was also in love with!!! She was trying to angle for poly with Liv!!! But it didn’t work!!!! She’s surrounded by clowns.) Things get even weirder she finds out apparently her former crush Hayley Marshall slept with Klaus and had his baby and apparently Laurel’s brother tried to kill her, and, like. Okay. Get over it. Obviously he didn’t try that hard because it’s a baby and it’s alive. Are you stupid? It’s not even that hard to kill a baby. Bring Laurel a baby right now and she’ll prove it.
She also makes out with Hayley but resents that Hayley is also kissing Elijah on the side so every night Laurel prays for Elijah to explode and die. She ends up as Hope’s babysitter a vast majority of the time and she makes that kid a thousand times weirder. She and Klaus have mad beef, on account of her breaking her sire bond forever ago, but Laurel is of the opinion that they’re even because he’s always such a bitch to her. She also prays he’ll die so she can use Hope to babytrap Hayley and her husband. (AU: If Dahlia has a magic/legal claim on Hope, then Laurel would like to have one too!!! Time to go to magical paternity court!!!!!!!)
Jemma Gilbert ✶ aka fem!Jeremy! Not much else to say—Elena gets to be insane and develop a chronic stress ulcer after noticing the way that Kol Mikaelson is looking at her sister. Someone get her a gun.
A Kol and Davina kisser canonically. Part of the infamous Soriam + Davina + Atlas + Vivi + Co polycule, which has long since run well into the double digits. It’s Soren’s dream to collect her for Kol and Davina so they love him forever with the added benefit that Miriam has a buddy now!!! Which also means that all his kissing partners now have buddies!!! And he has no buddy to worry about trying to die on his behalf!!! It’s his dream!!! This man sees odd numbers in his nightmares istg.
Claudia Salvatore ✶ A baby!!!! A 1999-2000-ish baby!!! The result of a short lived relationship between Zach and a sort-of friend that fell apart because he was still reeling from Stefan’s shoddy compulsion. Damon kills her dad anyway... which sucks but now they're sort of stuck with a kid. (AU: Damon and Stefan get a practice baby. They viciously disagree on the subject of childrearing.)
