It’s me, the Editor. Join me as we delve into what Sugar Glass Cookie can do in this preview…
At given intervals, she (and yes, it does mention pronouns in the official preview video) enters the Greenhouse of Memories to complete unfinished stained glass windows by observing Memory Flowers. As she flies towards each Memory Flower, constantly tap the “Slide” button to observe it and release the Fragmented Memories, converting them into a panel of the window itself. Complete all four panels and Sugarglass Shard Jellies will appear for bonus points. Keep in mind that you can still use the “Jump” button to adjust her flight path to collect jellies that you might miss out on because the passive magnetic field didn’t attract them.
With her Magic Candy, Sugar Flowers have a chance to bloom on obstacles. Each flower bloomed will destroy the marked obstacle and create Sugar Shard Jellies of varying sizes.
With her pet Nectar Delight, this pet’s skill is twofold. At the start of the run, it gives the Cookie a shield to absorb one collision without consequence… and when the Cookie faints, it revives the Cookie to keep running!
Truth be told, there were no secondary game events announced in the video. Make sure you complete Chocolate Bonbon’s Trial, Bingo with Blueberry Pie, and the “Collect Honey Jars” event, as those will end with Sugar Glass’s release tomorrow. While I still have you here, I have two opportunities to get you plenty of Rainbow Cubes!
For Ovenbreak, a YouTube subscriber challenge is currently underway. The total number of subscribers on ALL of their channels combined when the event ends on November 14th determines how many Rainbow Cubes everyone will get!
For Kingdom, they’re celebrating 30 million downloads with a coupon code. Enter 30MILLIONKINGDOM on the redemption page before New Years Day for 3,000 Crystals AND 3,000 Rainbow Cubes! (The introduction of Rainbow Cubes to Kingdom will be covered in another post)
Now, some of you might be wondering compared to my other posts: why is the Editor doing this one instead of calling on someone else on the cast?
Well, as someone who grinded the entire event in roughly a day and a half from the initial launch a couple weeks ago to get all the lore out of it (practically like the Tower of Frozen Waves last July), with all the lore, art, and spellbinding musical scores composed by the dev team, it made me reflect on my own life’s journey a bit. How I got here, doing a news blog for a game about running pastries on Tumblr. How I managed to get this far in my education. The fond and the fuzzy memories of my life. The decisions I made this far and those I’ve yet to make. All the joys and tragedies of life that come with it. The times I laughed. The times I cried. All the friends I made and kept, and those lost to time now long gone. The doubters and the supporters. The times where people helped me, and the times where I helped them in return. Sometimes, you just need to look back on the past and laugh. Maybe cry a little if you need to; there’s no shame in it. Call on others nearby for help when you need it most. Remember the good times and the bad times to better yourself for the future. Even if you’ve made your mistakes and the entire world is against you, there is always an opportunity to create a better future by looking to the past for answers… and all that’s left to do from there is to take that first step towards a brighter future.
