Me at 4:30 PM today: Well hell, chat. What if I just learn to 3D model
Me an hour later:
Like... I fully recognize that it's the world's ugliest and simplest pine tree but I also recognize that when I woke up this morning, I could not have opened Blender and successfully panned the screen or added an object. I could not have told you what a vertex was and I certainly couldn't have started creating simple shapes out of cubes, cones and circles.
I am thirty or forty years old and just learned a completely new tech skill in an hour. You have free will and neuroplasticity. Fuck doomscrolling. Go learn something cool for free
Yes maybe we should abolish student fees and student debt!
And maybe universities should stop treating themselves like a brand or a business!
They’re not supposed to be that!
Seriously!

Only $30 right now!
In this four-day class across two weekends, students will learn everything they need to know to write their own fantasy novel or short story. They will learn the basics such as what the genre of fantasy is, what makes it different than science fiction, common tropes and elements found in fantasy fiction such as magic and magical creatures, as well as how to create compelling characters, how to create a magic system and a world bible, and much more. Students will be encouraged to share their own ideas, come up with new ones, and create a story portfolio. By the end of the course, students will have the start of their first novel and the knowledge to continue it, finish it and then write another one!

“There is only one way to read, which is to browse in libraries and bookshops, picking up books that attract you, reading only those, dropping them when they bore you, skipping the parts that drag-and never, never reading anything because you feel you ought, or because it is part of a trend or a movement. Remember that the book which bores you when you are twenty or thirty will open doors for you when you are forty or fifty-and vise versa. Don’t read a book out of its right time for you.” ― Doris Lessing, goodreads || personal preference
The discourse on rhetorical curricula emphasizes their complexity, differentiating between explicit, hidden, unwritten, null, phantom, and contemporaneous types.
