Loki turned to you.
"What did he say? What did the Prophet require?" he asked.
You fiddled with your hands.
"He...he required that...he said that the only way to defeat Grendel...is...is to gather the trove items and shove them in the cauldron, and..."
"And?" Loki raised an eyebrow.
"And Stella must agree to come to him...but Loki, we can't! We can't do that!" you cried.
"Y/N, I know how dear she is to you; she is even dear to me. But...we have to," he replied.
You curled up your fists and dropped them at your side. Your face felt hot and your blood boiled.
"What! We...we can't! Do you realize they'll brutalize her! What things they'll do to her?!" you shouted, gesturing out into the air. "We can't put her through this!"
Loki folded his arms, his eyes serious at you. None of that mischievous twinkle.
"What if that doesn't happen?" Loki asked.
"But it will happen! It will happen without a doubt!" you replied.
Loki folded his arms.
"Did it ever occur to you that the Prophet has always been right?"
"Well, what if he's wrong?!"
"Y/N, you have to trust him."
"Trust him! We just burned his corpse!"
"The Prophet knows all of these things!"
"I can't let Stella be raped. Or even killed when they're done with her."
"They won't kill her."
"We might as well. We might as well be sending her to her grave," you spat.
Loki stepped forward and touched your shoulders.
"Listen, my love- I know...your heart was broken in the past. I know you were hurt by someone you trusted...but you have to trust the Prophet."
"And why would I do that?"
"Because he was your friend. Because he died to give you vital information. Because he said it's the only way to defeat Grendel."
You had to pause. He was right. You knew in the pit of your stomach he was right. A gust of wind blasted from outside.
"Then...if it's the only way to defeat Grendel...it's the only way to defeat Grendel," you said with a sigh.
Loki summoned the portal. You both stepped through it. This time, the lights were orange all around you. You got a strange floaty feeling, then you landed in the throne room.
It was pure chaos.
Armed soldiers were running around everywhere. People were shouting, even crying. Gaurds were talking to each other. You could smell the smear of paint as Asgard warriors were polishing their armor. There was a warmth of fires as a few small fireplaces were put to forge weapons. The rhythmic clanging of metal and of practice training was everywhere. The stench of sweat and of men was in the air.
Frigga looked over the crowd at the throne. Loki ran to her
"Father- gather the circle. Emergency meeting," he begged.
Frigga nodded. She then went to a few servants and sent them out. Something about it made your heart race.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your heart was still racing by the time you got to the throne room. You paced about.
"I'm going to vomit, I'm going to pass out," you said.
Loki got up.
"Come here, my love-let me hold you," he said.
He wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close. You froze, then relaxed. He smelled of citrus. Of pleasant things. Dreamy things. Calming things. You took him too, keeping him close. He stayed there, and tears welled up, coming out despite you.
"Loki..." you muttered, letting it all come over you.
"Oh, my dear, you are brave, the bravest woman I know. All will be well."
"But we're about to face a battle; what if we die?"
"Then I will wait for you in Valhalla. And I will cross each lifetime and each realm to find you."
He kissed the top of your head. Soon everyone filed in. You sat beside Loki, clutching his hands.
"Well, what did he say, sweet lady?" Hal asked.
"The good news is that he knows about your true love. Her name is Catherine, and she lives in France."
Hal's eyes widened; he smiled.
"Well then, I shall tarry for her."
"But...there's a catch...The Prophet says that for Grendel to be defeated...Stella has to go to him."
Jonathan gripped the table.
"Grendel, that sick fuck!" he hissed. At once he got up out of the table; Robert put a hand on his shoulder and guided him down.
"It is the only way. The Prophet was killed while delivering this information; it would be what he would have wanted," Loki announced.
"But we can't let him do that to her!" cried Jonathan.
"No...I'll go."
Everyone's heads turned. Stella was quiet. But her eyes were sure. She put a hand around her beads, and then stood up.
I know it’s not a big deal but can we please stop writing in small text. It’s hard to read and it strains my eyes and it makes it hard for me to comprehend the text. I know it’s probs for the aesthetics or something but please I’m begging you

Summary: You're starting to question whether Loki really has feelings for you
Warnings/tags: Angst, soft Loki (probably OOC), periods, mention of bad period pain (ten out of ten at one point), mention of joint pain, mention of hospitals, mention of legal paperwork, mention of painkillers, mention of heartbreak (nothing actually happens), mention of mind control, mention of injuries, mention of arrests
Today has been one of those days. You overslept, and missed your alarm somehow. Then you managed to trip, and fall down the stairs, which actually hurt a lot, but you figured it's probably just bruises.
And then you got your period.
You're not sure if you're meant to get joint pain, or cramps that make you so miserable that you can barely function, or horrible bloating that makes you feel like you can't eat anything (even though you've barely eaten all day). You figured it was just regular period stuff, or your sensory issues exacerbating the problem, but now, you're not so sure.
And on top of all that, you're now somehow dating Loki, a guy who was supposed to be a villain, but who is now somehow accepted(?) into the Avengers. Not that that's a bad thing in itself; Loki's always been very kind to you.
But you're not sure if he really does have feelings for you like he says. Sure, he said that he didn't want a relationship based on obligation, but did he really mean it? Was he just trying to make his mother happy?
Grimacing, you force yourself to stand up. Maybe Bruce will have something to help the pain. He's the only Avenger you really get along with, apart from Thor - but then again, Thor might just be being nice because of the Loki-soulmate thing.
As you shuffle towards the medical bay, you wonder yet another time why Loki seems so convinced that you two are soulmates. Sure, you can tell what the other is feeling, you can read each others' thoughts if you're in the same room, and Frigga and Thor both seem as convinced as Loki, but you're just not sure. Is it really possible to be so decided about someone that fast?
"Ooh…"
You almost double over when your cramps suddenly intensify.
Come on! you tell yourself. The sooner you get to Bruce, the sooner he can help you.
But it's a losing battle. The pain gets worse with every step you take, until you're in so much pain that you can only take very small, slow steps, and you have to stop a lot.
It's only after half an hour of struggling that you finally give up, sit down, and fumble around for your phone to text Bruce. You're determined to get that painkiller, no matter what, but you just can't face going to the lab.
And then you remember that Bruce never looks at his phone when he's in the lab. He always has it switched to silent, so he won't see your message until probably the next morning.
Your shoulders slump, and you stare at the floor, wishing you could cry. Crying would make you feel better, but you're in so much pain that even trying to summon tears is too much, so you just sit, staring at the floor, gasping.
You have no idea how long you've been sitting curled up on the floor, but you can see that the sun's moved in the sky, so it must have been at least a few hours. The longest few hours of your life.
Unfortunately, this corridor's one of the quieter ones, and nobody's noticed you yet.
The pain isn't much worse, but it certainly hasn't gone away. And you're still not inured to it. All you want now is to somehow get out of your body, wait until this wretched period is over, and then get back in your body again.
Suddenly, you feel someone accidentally kick you.
The pain immediately gets worse, but you don't scream or cry, although your face contorts with agony, and you let out a whimper.
"Lady Y/N!"
It's Thor.
He immediately crouches down. "Lady Y/N, what is the matter? Are you unwell?"
You wish you had the words to explain, but there's a block between your brain and your vocal cords.
"I will take you to Banner," Thor decides, realising that you're in too much pain to talk. "Do not worry, Lady Y/N. I am sure he will have something to help you."
Bruce looks up from his work when Thor bursts in, his eyes widening when he sees you in Thor's arms.
"What happened?" he asks, motioning for Thor to follow him.
"I do not know," says Thor, frowning. "I found her on the corridor. She appears to be in pain."
"Okay." Bruce opens the door to an examination room. "Lay her down on the table, and I'll take a look."
Thor does his best to be gentle as he sets you down on the examination table, but even the slightest movement is agony right now, and you groan.
"Okay, Y/N, can you tell me on a scale of one to ten, how much it hurts?"
You hold up nine fingers, then ten, then nine again, before deciding on ten.
Bruce nods. "Can you show me where it hurts?"
You point to your lower stomach. You'd normally be blushing, but you're beyond embarrassment right now, and you just want the pain to stop.
"Is it your period?" asks Bruce.
You nod. "Please make it stop," you whisper.
Bruce's face clears. "I'll give you something to stop the pain," he says, "and if it's okay with you, I'd like to keep you in the hospital wing overnight, just to make sure the pain doesn't come back."
"Okay," you whisper.
After the painkiller kicks in, Thor picks you up again, and carries you to the hospital wing, where he sets you down on a bed in a side room (all the beds are in side rooms, for privacy).
The bed's surprisingly comfortable, considering it's supposed to be a hospital bed, and there's one of those remotes to control the head, foot, and height of the bed, which normally you'd be excited about, but you're too tired to appreciate it right now (although you probably will in the morning).
"Alright," says Bruce, "so, I'll be coming in to check on you a few times, but if you need anything and I'm not here, you can just press the call button. Is there anyone you'd like me to call at all?"
You consider for a moment. Loki's away at the moment; he went back to Asgard with his mother to fix up some legal stuff, and you don't really want to bother him - but then again, you're not sure if he's the type of person who'd prefer to know if his romantic partner wasn't feeling well.
Thor seems to have guessed what you're thinking. "I think it would be best if Loki was informed," he tells Bruce.
"Are you sure he - I don't want to bother him," you say.
Thor nods. "I understand your concern, Lady Y/N, but Loki prefers honesty and transparency in any relationship, and although delaying telling him may not seem like a lie to you, he will not be pleased if he is not informed as soon as possible."
"Will he worry?"
Thor nods again. "Probably. You are someone he cares about, after all."
You frown. "Does he care about me?"
"Of course," says Thor. "He would never have suggested a romantic relationship with you if he did not care for you, regardless of whether or not you were soulmates."
"But why? Why would he choose me, when he could have any Asgardian girl?"
Thor chuckles. "Loki is not particularly popular back home. Asgardian girls seem to have a preference for blond, muscular men."
"But surely there was someone?"
Thor sighs. "A long time ago - you must never tell Loki I told you this - there was a girl called Sigyn. Loki was convinced they were soulmates, but she did not love him back. He never really believed in love after that. That, I think, was when he became more closed off. He has always been the gentler of us. He feels things very deeply, Lady Y/N, and though he has changed in recent years, I believe he does truly care for you."
"How do you know?" you ask.
"Because of what happened on the aircraft carrier. Loki's mind was twisted by an unknown force, bent on ruling Earth, but something in you stopped that force in its tracks. After you were hurt, he immediately came to his senses, and came to me. He begged me for forgiveness, and for help for you. Once you were safely in the hospital, he was arrested, of course. He was later released after his statements about the unknown force were found to be true, and he is now a free man."
"So he's grateful to me," you say, trying to clarify.
"I believe it was gratitude at first," says Thor, "but I have been watching him closely ever since I found out you were soulmates, and I can tell you, Y/N, he has grown to care for you." He smiles. "And if you need proof - wait until he finds out you're in the infirmary."
"What will he do?"
Thor chuckles. "I could tell you, but that would spoil the surprise. You had better rest now, Lady Y/N."
You wake up to feel someone stroking your hair. "Is she going to be alright?"
It's Loki.
"She's going to be fine," says Bruce. "What she needs most is rest."
You open your eyes to see Loki sitting by your bed, looking more tired than you've ever seen him before.
He gasps softly when he sees that you're awake. "Darling… are you alright? When Thor told me you were in the infirmary, I-" He takes a deep breath. "Are you still in pain?"
You consider lying, and saying you're not in pain at all, but then you remember that Loki can read your thoughts, so you say, "Only a two or three."
Loki breathes a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness. Please never scare me like that again. I don't know if I could bear it."
"I'm sorry," you mumble. "I didn't mean to scare you."
"I know you didn't," says Loki softly. "But please tell someone the next time you're in pain. I know I'm not always around, but you can tell Bruce, or Thor, or any of the other Avengers. You can even tell my mother, if she's around."
"I will," you promise. "I don't want to ever get to that level of pain again."
"Are you sure you're alright?" asks Loki softly. "Do you need anything?"
"I'm okay. How was Asgard?"
Loki forces a smile. "It was exactly what I expected. Father was furious, of course, but Mother protected me. We've finally finished the paperwork, so I'm at your disposal for the next few weeks. How long do these periods last, do you know?"
"About a week for me," you say.
"Well," says Loki, standing up, "this coming week shall be a week of comfort and - what is it the Midgardians say again? Pampering?"
You giggle. "It is."
Loki manages a real smile. "Well, my dear, I shall go and ask Bruce when you are due to leave. Try to rest while I am gone."
You nod, your eyes already closing. "Okay."
He's back a few minutes later. "Bruce says you're free to go back to your own room. I shall take you there once you have slept."
You manage another nod. The last thing you remember before falling asleep is Loki's hand stroking your hair again.

“How far do you think I could go before they find me?” He murmurs above you.
His voice is low, with the mischievous lilt that it always has. When you glance up at him in the mirror, silver pins gleaming from your mouth, you find him staring wistfully out the turret window. He would almost look crestfallen if not for the smirk playing on the corner of his lips. You roll your eyes and look back down at the hem of his pants, adjusting your measurements.
“I think Odin would be mad enough to hunt you across the universe if you were to leave right now.”
“Oh, that would be fun to see.” You glance up at him again. The smirk is now a smile, as if he’s relishing the idea.
You stick a pin in his leg. He yelps and jumps away a little, laughing. It’s easy, breathy, like he doesn’t have a care in the world.
And why would he? He’s almost married, after all.
Well, almost bethrothed. Coupled. Shown off to any eligible single royal in the Nine Realms that want a piece of Odin’s kingdom.
As you work on your measurements, you can almost hear the cacophony of tonight’s ball already happening in the courtyard below. Hundreds of choices will be mingling under your window, and you’ll have to see them all as you wait, alone, up here, for him to tell you every detail.
Like you always have.
“By the Norns, I didn’t even say anything that time!” He yelps from above as you catch him again with a pin, this time accidental and deep in his ankle. You sigh, rubbing the spot and mumble the one healing spell you know. The blood stops flowing but you keep rubbing absentmindedly.
“Are you alright?”
“Sorry. Just thinking.” You groan as you push yourself up to your feet, back cramped from bending over. Setting aside the maddening fact that Loki is getting married, the work put into making royal families court attire was an exhausting feat. Weeks of measuring, cutting, sewing, and cursing leading into this one painful day.
But you’re good at what you do. You always have been.
As you lean back to take him in fully, he poses. His outfit was mostly complete, save for last-minute hems that you can’t stop yourself from giving him. The silver trim along a green silk shirt to accentuate the soft blue undertone of his skin. The high collar to highlight his long neck. A form-fitting jacket with tails that ended in razor-sharp points, the fangs of the royal snake becoming a statement rather than a whisper behind his back.
You let yourself look up at his face, taking him fully in. He catches your eye and smiles, a tooth glittering in the sunlight streamed into the room. With his black hair tucked behind his ears and his high cheekbones, he almost looks like a mannequin. Perfect, poised, the perfect salesman for whatever he has on. Or whatever idea he has. You’ve been sold on enough from him before.
You let out a sigh you didn’t realize you’ve been holding.
It was finally almost done. The outfit you’ve spent weeks making after years of preparing for it. Every moment with him adding a stitch in your side, a reminder of what you can’t have.
The fabric glitters nicely. You knew it would from when you picked it out, with Loki and under his magic. He had disguised you both as an old couple, shopping in the market like it was any other day. You held scraps of textiles up to his skin while he offered his opinions, his wants. Asked banal questions and chatted about nothing. Another day together, like all the other days over the years of friendship you shared.
But you were together, close. His arm was in yours as you walked through the crowd. To keep you close for the spell, of course. But the heat from his body left the same warmth as if it was an embrace.
And the green silk shines on his skin like scales, just in the same way it did under that damned days’ sun.
“You’re quiet. Am I that ugly?” His head cocks to one side, catching your eye and bringing you back to the reality in your workshop.
“I’m fine. Just have to make sure this is right.”
“Do you ever make something wrong?” He murmurs with a playful smile as he magically turns the pedestal beneath his feet with a lazy finger. He barely even looks at himself, instead twisting slowly so you can get your full view, per usual.
“I know you don’t care, but it’s my head on the line.” You mutter, catching him by the elbow to stop him and snipping a stray thread on his neckline.
“Your head? Don’t be so dramatic. It’s a ball.”
“Don’t be stupid. You and I both know this isn’t just a ball.” You roll your eyes as you back away, which he doesn’t miss. He never misses the things you want him to miss.
He cocks his head to the side, brow furrowed in the way it does when he latches onto something. A tell, a quirk, a weakness. Your breath hitches in your throat; you’ve seen this face. It was cute when you were small and his obsession was about child’s play.
But your heart is not child’s play. Or available to him at all.
You drop back down to your knees, taking his ankle in one hand and nudging him forward, beginning to stitch his pant hem in silence.
A silence that seemed to grow heavier by the minute.
“It is just a ball, you know.” He says from above you. “Surely you don’t think I’ll actually marry anyone down there.”
As if he magicked them himself, voices from the courtyard below start to drift into the room. You pause before you accidentally stick him with another needle.
“Why should you not? I’m sure most are good matches.” You try and keep your voice clear though your heartbeat wavers.
“What constitutes a good match, friend?” He asks, casually. As if asking for advice.
“Someone in good royal standing. Attractive. Skilled in something. Able to handle your ego.”
He gasps in mock outrage, though when you look up, he’s smiling down at you wolfishly.
“I do not have an ego. You’re confusing me with Thor.”
“Thor’s ego has you beat by a beard hair, and that’s all. Pick someone down there that can handle both of you. I don’t know how I’ve survived all these years myself.” You mutter.
A moment. Your heart skips a beat again. Will you still be able to be with them, after this? After they have their someones? What place do you have here, other than the faceless tailor and seamstress?
You sink back on your ankles, looking absentmindedly at his. Your final stitches. As good as they were for the past few days, before you undid them for unseen flaws. But as more voices spill into the grounds below, you know you can’t hold onto him any further.
“You’re gone again.” He murmurs from above you, but in your dazed state, you can’t look up.
“What?”
“For weeks now, you keep disappearing. Thinking things that you don’t say out loud.”
“You don’t need to have my running monologue, Loki.”
“I don’t. But it’s a privilege you’ve shared with me in the past. Have I done something to upset you?”
“No.”
“Are you leaving Asgard?”
“What?” You look up at him again, this time locking eyes with the stone-faced prince. His hair has fallen from behind his ears, casting his face in shadow. It takes all of you not to tuck it again, to let his face see the sun.
“You’ve been fussing about this damned night for months now. Forget the clothing, every conversation we’ve had ends in what happens today.”
“It’s an important-”
“Save it. I know your lines now. It’s an important night for some, it’s a meaningless frivolity for others. I know my stance. But I don’t know yours.”
“I’m not trying to trick you, Loki.”
“I know. You’re better at tricking me. No, you’re just lying to me.” He points down at you with one finger, shaking it slightly as he chuckles and leans back. “You’re showing off your skills so you can impress someone down there, hmm? I’m a walking resume so you can get out of this damned castle.”
You spring up to your feet, scowling your way to your workbench, hurriedly putting up various needles and thread. Sharp points prick your fingers and you attribute your new tears to that, instead of him.
“After all of these years, you can’t afford me the respect of a goodbye?” His voice is even and low, but you still can’t look at him.
“I’m not leaving Asgard.” You force out through gritted teeth.
“Then you are leaving?”
“You are the one that’s leaving, Prince.”
“Don’t call me that. You, of all people, do not call me that.”
“I’m calling you what you are.”
“I called you friend.”
“And that’s not enough, is it?” You turn to face him, “I’m many things to you, Prince. A friend. A confidant. A childhood playmate turned into what? The help. Your help. Here to stitch you together into a Prince Charming for someone elses’ fairy tale. And that someone is down there. I’m just here, doing my job. Maybe we should have remembered that sooner than now.” You spit out the words, letting them fall like acid on the floor between you. Every word lowers your resolve more, especially as his jaw clenches more and more.
He stays silent for a long while, long enough for you to hear your heartbeat in your throat and the band start to play.
“Loki, I think they’re-”
“You’re not the help. You have never been the help.” He scowls, chest heaving once before he rips his eyes away from yours, turning towards the window and running a hand through his hair.
“Realistically, I-”
“Do the years we’ve shared mean nothing to you? Am I just some coddled man-child that’s been ignorant of your resentment this entire time?”
“I have not been resentful.”
“You have been. You just said it yourself. You’re just ‘doing your job.’”
“I am just doing my job.”
“Has your job been to babysit me? To talk with me? Sit with me through nights I couldn’t be alone, and to call me when you find vermin in the dark corners of your room?”
“No. My job is-”
“Hel, I can’t even count how many times we have walked the castle together. How many jokes we’ve made. How many times I’ve fallen asleep next to you, and still had dreams of your laugh. Your face consumes my thoughts, and I am just a job to you.”
“My face does what?”
“Haunts me! I am constantly thinking about you, and what you’re doing, and what you’re thinking about, and things to do with you. You have me walking like a dog by your side, and yet, I am just a job.” He’s evolved into pacing now, gripping his scalp as he rambles. He kicks a few bolts of fabric over by accident and curses, righting them with a wave of his hand.
Your body however, stills completely.
“A...dog.” You mutter dumbly, causing him jerk his face back towards you.
“I always have been. Yours.”
Footsteps run down the hall, past your door. The voices have all left the courtyard, having all entered the ballroom below. You never meant to keep him this long. But it feels so good to have him here, even with all of his anger burning a hole in your floor and heart.
He’s ‘your’ anything?
“My problem is that the thought of you getting married to someone else makes me sick.” You say finally and he blinks, brow furrowing.
“...What?” It’s his turn to be confused.
“Every time I think about you going down there, getting looked at and felt up and whispered to, Because it’s not my hand on yours.”
He turns towards you, face flickering orange in the setting sun that threatens to throw you both in darkness. You take a deep breath, two, before steeling enough nerves to continue.
“I think I fell in love with you so quietly that I didn’t know until the thought of today made me not want to leave my bed in the morning. It made every moment with you painful because I know it’s the some of the last ones I’ll have with you. The clock ticks so slowly when you’re away. The rest of my life is too long to live without you.” You say it all before you think it, leaving you breathless and propping yourself up on your workbench in order to stay upright.
The look he’s giving you is unreadable at best, unknowable at worst, but the intensity of his eyes never wavers, pinning you to your tenuous position. It still doesn’t waver as he steps towards you, slowly then quickly, lithe fingers reaching your waist and catching you before you fall.
It doesn’t waver until he closes his eyes, one hand sliding up to cradle the nape of your neck and jaw and drawing your head back as he pulls you into his embrace. He ghosts his lips above yours and your breath hitches before you close the distance, pressing into his kiss with an urgency you’ve been holding back. Your fingers crease his newly-made clothes as you grip onto his chest, his ribs, any part of him with the sole purpose of pulling him closer. He kisses you back with the same fervour you’re giving him, hot lips burning his brand onto your mouth and your thoughts cease to exist other than,
Wow. It’s really happening.
It must be forever before you disconnect, breathless and hot, but he only takes a second before kissing the corner of your lips, your cheek, your temple.
“I must be dreaming.” He mumbles against your skin, and you let loose a wry little laugh.
“I could say the same thing.” You barely get the words out before he kisses you again, slower this time, taking his time. His hands travel up, cupping your face gently, thumb swiping away at a tear you didn’t realize made its way out.
When he finally pulls away, he has a gentle smile on his face, as if he was wholly at peace.
It makes you pull him in again, sounds of a long-forgotten ball echoing from below.

Emotions
(Lmk if I left anything out)
As unusual as this relationship may be, it still thrived on love, affection, trust, and loyalty. Loki was fully aware of how it happened, but when it did, he was still admittedly nervous. But, hey, (Y/n) was just as scared, too, especially considering her...characteristics.
You see, (Y/n) is actually a Neko. She's a cat person, as in cat ears and tail with cat-like habits. However, her powers stem further than that of just a domestic cat. Along with purring and frequent naps like that of a domestic, (Y/n) also has abilities like that of various wild cats. These include a lion's roar, a tiger's strength, a cheetah's speed, a snow leopard's coat (for warmth), and like all cats, strong and sharp retractable claws and enhanced flexibility and senses. Her super suit was a skintight bodysuit with a v-neck that totally covered her arms and legs as black, one-inch heeled, non-slip boots adorn her feet. She also wears black, leather, fingerless gloves so she could easily extract her claws. The suit is made where whichever feline power she uses, the coat pattern will match the animal . Oftentimes, multiple patterns would appear on the suit when more than one power is used at the same time. If she were to use all of her powers at once, then her suit would show a snow leopard coat pattern on the unitard area, tiger stripes on her arms, cheetah spots on her legs, and a lion's mane would poof out around the collar of her suit. All the while, her ears and tail would remain matching her usual hair color. If no power is being used specifically at the moment, or if she's not wearing her suit at all, then it lays dormant in all black until she puts it on and/or activates her powers. Of course, Tony Stark had a lot to play into the design and make of this suit but still stayed faithful to her desires.
Loki, the Norse God of Mischief and brother of Thor, is her husband. He took an interest in her rather quickly when she came to live in the Avengers Compound. Initially, when (Y/n) first came in, she was afraid that she would be considered a freak because of her characteristics, but was relieved with how accepting the team was. Seeing all their powers and traits, it was relatively easy for her to become one of the family, and then her eyes landed on Loki, who was stunned at first about the woman's appearance. His eyes studied her from bottom to top as he read her, realizing that he may enjoy her company, and he was right. He greatly enjoyed her company. A year's worth of late night talks over tea, shared sparring matches, and successful missions led to a mutual attraction and affection between the two. (Y/n) could somehow always combat Loki's silver tongue with a wit as quick as her own reflexes. It was never blatantly stated, but their affection for each other was quite clear. They were basically a pining power couple. They carried an incredible synergy and became highly protective of each other. Whenever one was in trouble in any way, the other would step in in their defense. One was never seen without the other. The only times they would ever be found apart was if one was sent on a mission without the other or one stepped away but is not that far and would return within a few minutes.
The moment when Loki truly realized his feelings for her was during a battle against a large group of security guards around a secret HYDRA base. It was supposed to be a fairly simple mission: get in undetected; get the needed information undetected; get out undetected; burn what remains undetected. The first two tasks went perfectly, and so did the last. It was the third part, though, that didn't go so well. Someone tripped an alarm that alerted several soldiers to their location. (Y/n)'s practical group with Loki, Natasha, and Bucky were quick to get out of the building but unsuccessful at not being followed. So, combat was a necessity. Nat could fight off five to ten at a time with her mixed martial arts. Bucky could take out three or four with his hand-to-hand combat and weaponry, and Loki could easily ward off seven or eight with his magic and daggers. (Y/n), however, was killing off two or three at a time, but in great rapid succession. She was practically a blur across the battlefield, and to say that Loki was impressed is a remarkably strong understatement.
If anything, it was that moment in seeing her zip through the HYDRA agents with such grace and velocity that made him realize her true beauty and ferocity. He was smitten, and he knew it. Her elegance and agility were unlike anything he's ever seen before. The HYDRA agents are dropping like flies, and she's barely broken a sweat. There she is warding off two enemy agents in front of her. How skilled of a warrior! So focused that she didn't notice another guard aiming his firearm at her from behind. Oh, crap!
Thanks to his high level of perception (and how close he was to her already), Loki noticed the gun and yanked (Y/n) away just in time, causing the guard to shoot his own men that were attacking her instead. The god then launched a small dagger through the guard, and he went down within seconds. "You should be more careful," he suggested with a teasing lilt, "With your hearing, I'd have thought you'd hear the gun being prepared." (Y/n), as always, was able to clap back with a smirk, "You should be more careful. With a save like that, I'd have thought you actually care about me." But, they both already knew how much Loki cared, and they both already knew how mutual that feeling was. This was also the moment when (Y/n) realized the depth of her own feelings for the god, but neither of them could say anything in the moment since there was still a battle happening.
The fight lasted for only a couple more minutes until all the HYDRA guards were laying on the ground and the quinjet landed some yards away. On that trip back to the Avengers Compound, though, Loki nor (Y/n) could not shake the moment from their minds. It wasn't until a few weeks later did Loki work up the nerve to subtly ask (Y/n) on a date, to which she gladly obliged. One date led to two years' worth of dates until he got down on one knee with a gorgeous gold band and a seven karat emerald stone in the middle, to which she ecstatically accepted. With a glamorously dramatic ceremony (mostly on Loki's part), the two were wed surrounded by their friends and family and, of course, the Avengers themselves. Believe it or not, Tony was the one to pay for the wedding. Of course, he just wanted them to be happy (because Tony Stark does have a heart), so he gave them whatever their hearts desired, and the ceremony was a beautiful success.
Three years later, Loki stood over the stove trying to cook some food that didn't have much taste as his cat wife had fallen sick lately. For the last few days, (Y/n) had been throwing up in the toilet every morning, and it's not like she has hairballs. (She's not an animal!) On top of that, her mood has been all over the place. She'd be fine one moment, laughing and joking, until the next moment, her laughter shifts to tears over a seemingly small thing. Then, if Loki were to try to calm and comfort her and say it's nothing to get worked up about, her watery eyes would burst into flames, and she would blow up and accuse him of downplaying her emotions. This would lead to brief arguments before they'd separate to cool off then come back and apologize. While Loki does love his wife, he just can't understand the sudden moodiness until his conversation with his older brother, Thor.
"I just don't understand her, brother," Loki complained over a glass of Asgardian mead, "I do love her. I really do, but these arguments are leaving me worried. I want to work it out, but if I don't tread lightly, I could ruin things to the point of no return." Thor sat with a slowly growing, soft grin. Loki noticed and asked accusingly, "What? What's that grin for?" "You really don't know what this means?" asked the God of Thunder through stifled laughter. The brunet god shook his head as his brother answered for him, "Brother, your wife could be expecting." "Expecting?" the God of mischief asked confusedly before it finally clicked. "By the norns, she's having my child!" he whispered in shock as he sat back in his chair. "Brother, you're going to be a father! Congratulations!" Thor boomed as he picked his brother up in a spine-crushing bear hug.
Meanwhile, (Y/n) stood in the bathroom of her and Loki's apartment in the tower, pregnancy test in hand, a plus-sign showing as clear as day. On the counter laid two more tests, both reading positive. (Y/n)'s blood ran cold. What would Loki think? Would he even want to have children? Does he even like kids? Maybe we shouldn't go through with this... Her thoughts kept swirling through her head that she didn't hear her husband walk through the apartment calling for her, "Darling? Are you there? I need to talk to you." He finally reached the bathroom when he saw the door ajar and the light on.
Pushing open the door, he called, "There you are, darling." "Loki!" (Y/n) shrieked at her husband's sudden entrance before shifting to hide the tests behind her. Of course, Loki being Loki, he clearly noticed, and there was no way he wasn't going to acknowledge it, "Kitten? What were you looking at before I walked in?" "Nothing," she squeaked out, blushing at the nickname. Loki leaned a bit to peek over her shoulder, but she moved to block his view. "I can tell you're hiding something," he teased with a smirk, "Your right ear folded back." This was true. Whenever (Y/n) was lying or had something to hide, her right feline ear would fold back as if subconsciously guilty for misinformation. Even still, she tried to fix it to its proper position, but it slowly turned back to its hiding pose.
"Come on, love, what are you hiding from me?" the mischievous god urged as he scratched her other ear, a persuasion tactic often proving to be useful under the right circumstances. This happened to be one of those circumstances as she started to purr and lean into the touch in relaxation. "Now, kitten, what are you keeping from me? You know we keep no secrets from each other," he urged once more as his smirk dropped to a neutral state with an underlying air of concern. (Y/n) looked down shyly as she stepped aside to reveal the three positive tests. Loki studied them, his face still expressionless as he verified that all three read positive. (Y/n) stood a couple of steps away as she twiddled her fingers while the tip of her tail twitched nervously. Loki then glanced up at his wife who made eye contact with him before his neutral face grew into a smirk which glowed into a grin. (Y/n) finally spoke up, "Um L-Loki...?" "Yes, dear?" he answered.
"I'm...I'm pregnant."
That was all it took.
Loki jumped over to scoop his wife up in his arms before spinning her around a couple of times while laughing ecstatically. He placed her down as they shared a strong but sweet kiss. When they pulled away, though, she asked out of concern, "So, you're not upset?" "Upset?" he asked incredulously as he pulled her in closely, "Why in the Nine Realms would I be upset?! Darling, we're creating a new life together! I couldn't be more elated." She gave a sigh of relief and melted into the embrace, her tail wrapping around the two of them.
~Two Months Later~
All the Avengers and Agents of SHIELD stood together on the party floor of the tower. Each with a champagne glass of sparkling cider (Tony's being spiked a bit, of course), everyone waited anxiously for the couple to pop the black balloon to reveal the gender of the new life-to-be. With an excited countdown from five, the balloon burst with a loud pop, and a cloud of pink dust and confetti fell in front of the couple. (Y/n) jumped into Loki's arms with an excited squeal. They spun from the momentum and shared another passionate kiss over their soon-to-be-daughter.
~One Month Later~
Another month passed as they still couldn't agree on a name. "I'm telling you, darling," Loki insisted, "her name should be 'Alvah'." (Y/n) retorted, "No way! It wouldn't fit!" "What do you mean it wouldn't fit?" the God of Mischief questioned. "I want her name to have some sort of meaning that includes both of us," she explained, her tail swaying calmly until one name came to mind, causing it to pause mid-sway, "What about 'Carola'?" Loki paused and pondered the name and whispered, "Meaning 'free woman'. Why that one?" "Because we've both been trapped for periods of time, and it wasn't until we found each other were we finally freed. I want her to come into the world already knowing that she is free. Free to be herself. Free to make her own choices. Free for her own thinking. She’s free to do and be whatever she pleases." Her husband smiled softly and nodded, "'Carola' it shall be then." He kneeled down and rested a hand on her bump and whispered, "I can't wait to meet you, my dear Carola. I love you and your mother more than all life in the Nine Realms combined." He punctuated his statement with a kiss to his wife's belly.
~Four Months Later~
"LOKI!!!" The scream could be heard through the entire compound, literally. Less than two seconds passed when the man that was called appeared by (Y/n)'s side in a flash of green light. "Darling, what is it?! What happened?!" he asked in a panic. Through practiced breath patterns, she groaned out, "Th-the baby...the baby's coming!" Eyes wide, Loki scooped his wife into his arms and booked it to the medical floor. He decided against teleportation because he couldn't risk hurting his child. By the time he reached the med bay, there was a room with a bed and proper equipment needed for childbirth already fresh and prepared. Doctor Strange, Bruce Banner, and three other nurses were already in position for the process. Loki laid (Y/n) onto the bed and held her hand the entire time while uttering encouragement after encouragement into her ear.
The rest of the team waited outside in the hall. Thor paced back and forth while Steve's leg continuously bounced on the ball of his foot. Bucky sat and broodingly stared at the wall as Sam tinkered with his Redwing drone, flinching occasionally at the sudden cries of child birth. Wanda curled in close to Vision as he tried to sooth her from the loud painful noises. Tony took a few sips of his whiskey while Natasha and Agent Hill sat seemingly the most calm out of all of them. Director Fury silently chuckled to himself at the fact that Earth's Mightiest Heroes are falling apart at the seams over a baby that wasn’t even theirs in any way. The birth happened quickly but seemed to draw on forever at the same time. Thirty minutes of screams later, a baby cry could be heard through the door. Everyone stood up nervously expectant as Banner walked through the door, wiping his hands with a grin on his face as he stated simply, "We have a healthy baby girl." With that, Earth's Mightiest Heroes jumped up in excitement and cheered together with shared hugs and high-fives throughout the group.
Meanwhile, behind the door, a sniffle was heard between the happy couple. Surprisingly, it was the father with tears in his eyes instead of the mother. Loki cradled his new daughter in his arms. One could tell that she was a perfect mix of her parents; while she had her mother's feline characteristics (such as her ears and tail), her skin tone was a soft and clear cerulean as her hair/fur was black as night. "Hello, my dear, precious Carola," the baby girl's father whispered as she slept in his arms. He turned toward his wife and saw her asleep, so he kept his voice low as he pointed toward her, "You see her? That is your amazing and beautiful mother. She brought you into this world. Now, it's my job to protect you from its monsters. You and your mother are my entire universe, and come what may, I will keep you safe. Even if it means to watch the Nine Realms burn, I will do it to protect you. I may be the God of Mischief and Lies, but I cannot and will not lie when I say that you have my sworn love and protection. I love you, my dear Carola, and I am proud to call you my daughter."

The Scars You Can Not See 🌸
Loki x female reader (non canon AU)

Unedited, not proofread, out of context... and some sexual tension this time 😏. Enjoy!
Snippet one:
"Bad news?” Loki wanted to know. He tried to hide his curiosity and also his concern. You looked so sad and lost. And no, he definitely shouldn't care about you. He hated you, and you hated him. Irrevocably and to the core.
“Are you eavesdropping on me?” you asked annoyed, turning around and looking at him.
“Surely not. I just came in to get something to drink from the fridge. I just wanted to be polite.” Loki shook his head and rolled his eyes.
“ I don't need your politeness, Laufeyson, thank you. Mind your own business, okay? Where's your chick of the week? Haven't seen her for quite a while. Is she bored of you already?” You asked him provocatively and side-eyed him. You placed your phone on the kitchen counter and walked past him to take your mug from the cupboard. ‘Gosh, why does he always have to smell that good’ you thought. It didn't help to keep on hating him.
“Now you better mind your own business, poison ivy. Don't call her ‘chick’, she was a lovely person,” Loki said. You really pissed him off sometimes.
“Was? So, my assumption is right. Well, I'll get to see you on the hunt again. How lovely!” Your voice dripped with sarcasm, and a devilish smile curled your lips.
“I don't need to hunt, little apple blossom. They all come willingly, and contrary to you, other women appreciate my features and skills," Loki answered, a self-righteous tone in his voice. How much he enjoyed riling you up.
A faked noise of puking left your mouth. He was really so in love with himself and self-confident, wasn't he?
“The only feature they appreciate is the package between your legs and what you're able to do with it. At least I hope you know what to do with it, because many men don't. Are you really that blind, Laufeyson? They're not interested in you or your heart…ohhh…I totally forgot…you don't have one!” You spat, leaning casually against the kitchen counter with your eyes on him, your arms crossed over your chest. You were absolutely aware of how hurtful your words were, but like always, they left your mouth quicker than you could think about it.
“You might not understand it, but I've needs sometimes, and yes, I need them to get satisfied. Maybe you like it, but I don't like to be alone all the time. By the way, don't you have needs? What are you doing with them? Sweat them out?” Loki laughed condescendingly.
“Oh, surely I've needs but I'm not whoring around like you. I want more than just… senseless fucking. I need feelings and a heart as well. And if physical lust gets too much I prefer my battery-provided friend… if you know what I mean. No feelings, no commitment, just satisfaction,” you smirked, raising one eyebrow and licking over your lower lip. How you loved to provoke him. Men were such cavemen and such simple beings.
‘Gosh, this woman’ Loki thought. The liplicking and the imagination of you, smelling lovely like the prettiest spring flower he could think of, and your ‘ battery-provided friend’ made him instantly hard, and he just laughed lightly and shook his head. How much he wanted to fuck you senseless, how much he wanted to kiss you and get a taste of you. Hopefully, you didn't recognise the growing bulge in his sweatpants. Maybe he should fuck you out of his system. Maybe then he could finally stop thinking about you permanently. At the same time he wanted more. More of you, and so much more than just sex. “Ahh, yes and I don't have a heart. Sorry, I forgot about that, grumpy little daisy, ” he countered harshly, tilting his head and grinning sarcastically.
“Finally you got it, and by the way, what benefits do I have from a perfect, beautiful outer shell if there's no heart involved, hm, Laufeyson?” You regretted your words as soon as they had left your mouth, and you swallowed hard. Deep down in your gut, you knew that Loki wasn't the heartless jerk and playboy you'd like to see in him. But you couldn't let him get any closer to your heart and into your life. Not physically, and definitely not emotionally. No, never. He deserved better. He deserved someone better than all those chicks, and he definitely deserves someone better than you. Period. You saw him swallowing hard, and besides recognising something else, you also recognised how much your words had hit him.
“The benefit you could have might be lustful, satisfying sex and several wonderful orgasms. To get that stick out of your pretty ass, you know. I happily offer my services to you, sweet peach flower.” Oops…Did he really just offer himself to you? How pathetic of him, and definitely absolutely inappropriate and presuming. You were an absolutely great woman with class and decency, hard to get, and always keeping him at a distance and rightly so. If you wouldn't already hate him, now you definitely would.
“Besides that, yes, you're absolutely right. My shell doesn't contain a heart. See you later, in the club, my charming prickly cactus”, was the only thing he said, his eyes slightly filled with tears.
For a second, you didn't know what to reply, and you just stood there with your mouth agape. Who did he think he was? Pretty ass? Did you hear him correctly? You didn't have a stick in your ass. Not really. Your stiffness, physically and mentally, was nothing of his concern. If only he knew the reason for that. But he'd never be the one to share this problem with. You had to get along with it, not him. Also, you had to do this alone. And why would he wonder about your orgasms? How dare he! And, was there something growing in his sweatpants? Did you really have that effect on him? Would he really like to spend a night with you? You, the broken soul, the not overly attractive girl with that destroyed heart, and an injured body. He would never like what would lie next to him in his bed. Neither your physicality nor your skills in the bedroom department would live up to his expectations. Why, just… why? You didn't want to like him, you didn't want to want him. And you didn't want him to like or want you either. But maybe, just maybe he was right and all you needed was a good fuck. What's the big deal? Probably it might be a good idea to fuck him out of your system. But then you weren't any better than his party chicks and like them just another notch in his bed post. And for that you weren't desperate enough. You still had some pride. Arghh, this guy drove you crazy. As soon as you found your composure again, you fired the next words at him.
“I'll give that a miss, Laufeyson, thanks! No to all of this. And don't always give me those stupid flower names. Idiot.” you answered coldhearted and snappishly.
You placed your unused mug back in the cupboard, turned around and stormed off the kitchen in frustration. You couldn't stand it anymore. Not today.
‘Will you ever have a nice word for me?’ Loki thought when he saw you storming off. Probably not, but one thing was for sure. With mean, cold words, you were as good as he was. If this didn't go well together, then nothing did.
Snippet two:
“What was I supposed to do, hm?” Loki asked you angrily.
“Leaving me alone? Minding your own business, perhaps? I'm a big girl, I could've handled myself, jerk!” you complained.
“Yes, of course,” he spat ironically. “It has been pretty obvious that you couldn't handle it yourself anymore. This asshole touched you, and you…you…you didn't even notice it!” He sounded angry, disappointed and…Concerned?
“Of course, I noticed it. I…I..” You stammered unsurely but utterly upset.
“No, you did not! You just told me you can't remember what happened last night. So what do you think was I supposed to do? Should I've left you to yourself? Let this guy abuse you and take advantage of your situation? If that's what you want! Okay then, next time I won't help you. I'm going to turn around then, ignore you, and leave you simply to fate! No problem, you stubborn wildflower” Loki said, staring at you with his death stare. If looks could kill.
You stayed silent and swallowed hard, lowering your gaze to the floor. Maybe he was right. Maybe you had underrated last night's situation. But you would never tell him, also that you appreciated his caring side. You didn't deserve his care because you brought last night's situation to yourself. But there was one question that occupied you, and you definitely had to ask him even though you were afraid of his answer.
“Did we…did we have…sex last night? I mean…you and I?” you asked him with a shaky voice. Your head throbbed heavily, your throat was dry like a desert. You felt so embarrassed.
Loki just huffed in annoyance, feeling exhausted by the ongoing arguments. He shook his head in disbelief before he spoke again. “No!” he stated convincingly and seemingly emotionless.
Was there also some disappointment audible? Certainly not, you surely imagined it.
‘You better get a grip again, girl’, you told yourself.
“Why did you bring me here?” You asked him quietly and less upset and wondered which answer he'd give you.

The Scars You Can Not See 🌸

Unedited, not proofread, out of context!! I hope you like and enjoy it.
And there he was, the marvellous, the insatiable, irresistible Loki Laufeyson. The demigod, the sex god, the god of perfectly fitting three-piece suits, the god of…whatever. The menace, the plague, the pain in your ass. Entering the club as if it were his. Always here when you are. There hasn't been a day so far when you had to work here and he wasn't present either.
As expected, it didn't take long after he had seated himself in the VIP lounge until the first party chicks threw themselves at him, salivating, gushing and oh so willing to open their legs for him. As always. And Loki? Of course, he was more than open to it. As always. You couldn't believe what you were just seeing while standing behind the bar, mixing a cocktail a male guest had just ordered. Ironically, a ‘Sex on the Beach’, how fitting! And wait, did one of the girls give him… a lapdance? Riding his… thigh? And then, what? Trying to mate on the dance floor next? How pathetic. Did Loki really like and wanted this? You couldn't see his face because it was hidden behind the ass-wiggling woman's back, but yes, maybe he liked exactly this. How desperate all those women were. What really pissed you off was their behaviour. So eager and desperate to get laid, with that pick-me-fuck-me attitude. No charm, no class, no pride. Still pretending they have all of this, they just offered their pussies to everyone who smelled their dripping arousal. And of course, they preferred Loki to be the one to pick them. You didn't get it. He was pretty, yes, but he was just an arrogant poser, nothing more. And a mean asshole. They all didn't know what you knew about him, how mean he could get. Wasn't there more to life than just fucking and getting fucked?
Sure, having sex was nice and fun, even more when you have it with the right person. But there was so much more to life than just this. To get to know someone, what that person likes or dislikes, having conversations, deep ones, and not so deep ones. Trust, vulnerability, and at least love, for example.
With Loki, you weren't sure what goals in life he had. Generally, you didn't wonder that he was so open to that kind of flirting. It seemed he had a high sex drive, depending on how often you had seen women leave the floor where the penthouses were. Women you often had seen at the bar earlier in those evenings. So it was no wonder that Loki took so easily what the party chicks offered him. In the end, he was just a man. A man with needs.
What you also didn't understand was why he bedded every willing woman he could get between his fingers and his sheets. Why wasn't he more picky? You still thought there was more to him. Not that you were interested in him, his background, or his sex life. All of this was none of your business. Anyways, he was in your mind, more often than you wanted him to be, but his strength, authority, style, charisma, wit and charm, the way he carried himself, the way he talked and behaved was contrary to how he behaved right now or any other day here in the club. Loki was well educated and grew up as a prince. For you, all of this didn't fit together, as if he tried to hide something. Something he couldn't or didn't want to show the world and the people around him.
But who were you to judge? You weren't any better, except the sex thing, of course. And you weren't a princess, although there had been times when you were treated like one. You also carried a lot with you and never talked about it since… nevermind. Loki was your declared enemy, and nothing could change that. Absolutely nothing. It was more than certain that he would take one of the party chicks home with him tonight to continue the dancing between his bedsheets. His bedsheets. Were they made of silk? Or the softest cotton? Were they green or black? Grey or white? You should better not think about that. Also, your treacherous body shouldn't tingle like it did at the thought of his bed and the surely soft bedsheets. Aggressively, you shook the cocktail shaker and curled your lips in disgust.
“Are you done with staring? How long do you want to keep shaking that poor cocktail, hm?” Claire asked you, annoyed and impatient, her arms crossed over her chest.
“What?” you answered irritatedly, turning your head and looking at her.
“You are staring at him”, she hissed softly and mockingly, trying to communicate her displeasure without being heard from others.
“He's a catch, isn't he”, she stated dryly.
“He's a snob, and I'm not staring, Claire!” You told her indignantly and whisperingly.
“Darling, you've already undressed him with your gaze,” Claire replied ironically as if she would sing a love song, raising her eyebrows. What was she thinking? You weren't one of those…women!
“Me? Staring at that arrogant idiot Laufeyson? I didn't stare at him, okay! I'd never! I was just being…disgusted. He's…disgusting, he and…his whorish behaviour, okay!” you stammered hesitantly, looking for the right words.
“Nope, he's not, and we both know that. Stop eye-fucking him and concentrate on your work. Just give our guest finally his cocktail,” Claire demanded and turned around, leaving for the beverage storage.
You felt the heat of embarrassment as you began to colour up. Fortunately, nobody could see it in the dimmed lights of the club. You poured the all too well shaken cocktail into a tall glass over some ice cubes, decorated it with a slice of pineapple and two cherries on a stick, put a straw into the drink and placed it on the counter in front of your customer.
“Your cocktail, Sir. Sorry for letting you wait. Enjoy!” You apologised and smiled.
“No problem, thanks,” the man said, winking at you, grabbing his cocktail and blending in with the crowd on the dance floor.
The next guests required your attention, and when your gaze returned to the place where you had spotted Loki before, he wasn't there anymore. Of course, because he had better things to do, right? The thing with the soft sheets and so on. And no, you didn't stare at Loki, and you definitely didn't eye-fuck him! No matter what Claire said or might have seen.
I hope you liked it and would like to read more. Thanks for reading this little something.
A severe, terrible stroke of fate had hit you and your family. This blow radically changed your life and destroyed everything you've ever believed in and dreamt of. It was all your fault, and the consequences are yours to bear now. You only find some relief from pain and suffering in the silence of the night, peaceful and silent, as long as you don't sleep.
Leaving your family and friends, you headed for a new country, a new town: New York. There, you met him. Loki.
Mr Sex-on-two-legs Laufeyson, the annoying God in those damn dark suits. The arrogant jerk whose behaviour irritates you immensely and makes your blood boil.
You hated him right from the beginning but tried to take his hotness and beauty as a normal thing like coffee in a mug or a shower in the morning. But whenever he is close to you and touches you accidentally, the sensation of his touch ripples through you, letting you feel things you better should not feel. Also, are the constant nocturnal encounters really just by chance?
He should've known better. He shouldn't be here. He better should've stayed away from this place, this planet, this town, and from you. Now it was too late, he couldn't back down anymore. Somehow he also couldn't withdraw himself from you, the obnoxious and naughty woman. A grumpy, little marigold. You irritate him and being close to you feels better than it should. But he doesn't like you and loves to wind you up. Nothing brightens his day more than riling you up. Nonetheless he was sure that you have everything inside of you, from the grumpy little girl to a drop-dead gorgeous woman.
An unfathomable sadness hangs around you like a heavy cloak, and somehow, he wants to find out what it is that makes you so sad. But he better shouldn't care. He never falls in love with a woman he spends time with, no matter in which way, and you were no exception.
Besides living in the same building, hating each other to the core, you tried to get along. Somehow. Is it possible to escape from your past, fighting the demons who torture you and find happiness and love again?
A haters-to-lovers story about loss and grief, pain and nightmares, sadness and despair, broken dreams and new chances, passion and desire, hate and love. A grumpy, sad woman bantering with a smug but charming man, both full of prejudices and anger. Who falls first and who falls harder? And don't forget about the stalker, lurking in the dark…
