We always had a lovespoon hanging on the wall. This is a traditional Welsh spoon that is given, it holds symbolic meaning. I always admired the carving work.

'This lovespoon carries Welsh symbols: the Celtic Cross represents the history of Wales and the Church, the Dragon and Daffodil are national symbols (although perhaps the Dragon could also signify a passionate affair for some people).

Lovespoons originated as a courtship custom. A man would carve a small spoon out of one piece of wood, and then present it to a girl as a gift. If she accepted the spoon, it was taken as a token of betrothal. The original lovespoons were intended to be worn secretly on a ribbon around the neck. And in many parts of Wales the Welsh word for a lover is still ‘sponer’ (literally meaning ‘spooner’).'

he may not specifically know but im pretty sure he can guess, why? because traditional love and wedding spoons have existed since the 1600 and even in Eastern Europe and given that Snezhnaya is based on Russia which is in Eastern Europe if we go by traditions he should now this (especially when he came from a small village it was stronger in those places)

simple back then when a suitor wanted to confess or propose they'd crave a wooden spoon. the spoon would show the mans ability in the field of wood working showing that they could take care of their future family

sailor would also crave such spoons during their long journeys showing that they thought of tbeir love

Wedding Spoons

wedding spoon are actually Norwegian but i still wanna mention them (lol) those spoons are made out of two spoon that are connected via a chain, the newlyweds would eat with thenlinked spoons to symbolise their connection

I think childe even if he didnt know could guess the meaning of the chopsticks and the pattern i mean he even learned old liyue writtings to make talismans . i once read a fic (i forgot how it was called 😔) where childe found out and craved zhongli chopsticks to reciprocate his feelings and well lets just say if it was a love spoon it would have been pretty neat but anyway

childe knows the meaning of those chopsticks and i probably craving a love spoon for zhongli!!!
