I like the idea that when Wild died, he basically received a whole new spirit. Bits and pieces of his old self (which is how he got his memories), bits and pieces of nature and the world around him, all coming together to make Wild. I like the accompanying theory that pre-calamity Wild (who I’m just gonna call Champion) is just wandering around with Wild, following him and watching his journey. And that comes with as much angst as you expect, with him watching the Chain and all the other (successful) heroes go on their journey

but I also like the idea that Champion REALLY likes to mess with everyone. Occasionally, Wild will have a dissociation or memory. He’s been dead for the better part of a century, he got bored and already worked through his trauma. And occasionally Champion can take control of his body for a few seconds. Normally he just enjoys being alive, and has quick friendly chats with everyone. But he also gets bored, and occasionally he’ll get control and just says something so ominous that the chain wonders if Wild is possessed by some eldritch monster.

WILD / CHAMPION: *starts blinking after two minutes of staring out at the lake*

TWILIGHT: *sitting beside him on the beach* hey buddy. How you doing?

WILD / CHAMPION: *turns to him slowly* we’ve been burying them wrong *turns back to the lake and zones out again.*

TWILIGHT: awesome, cool. Wild’s haunted. Awesome.

age headcanons for the lu boys :33

Time: mid-late 30s, but even he doesn’t know, way way older mentally, he and Malon tried to figure it out once and gave up because their heads hurt

Twi: 26, idk how to explain this one, he just feels 26 to me, also I’m pretty sure that in LU canon at least he started his adventure when he was 19, and it’s easy to see how much older he looks, so that’s my guess

Wars: also 26, his birthday probably just passed recently, like right before he joined the chain, so he’ll still sometimes mess up and say that he’s 25 to people

Sky: 22, this just felt right to me, I also think he’d be super happy the first and second number of his age r the same, he seems like that type of guy

Legend: 19, Ik some ppl think he’s younger, but I think based of the fact he owns a house in AlbW says that he’s adult enough for it

Wild: 17/117, it’s canon, I don’t wanna mess w that, but he’s also just 17 to me 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hyrule: 16, can’t explain this one either, I was either gonna make him 18 or 16, I chose 16 bcuz I don’t want him being older than Wild, idk why, it’s just smth that feels wrong to me

Four: also 16, it’s a joke, bcuz 4x4 is 16, I’m so funny aren’t I? (But if I didn’t wanna be comedic I’d make him 18)

Wind: 13, almost 14, this is also canon to LU, he said it himself at Lon Lon, also that is a 13 year old boy if I’ve even seen one (and I’ve seen a lot)

Warriors and Sky as parallels when they kill Hylians, tho?

Like, The action beforehand is what’s personal to Warriors. The tragedy of another betrayal. The act of killing Hylians itself isn’t a very big deal, or at least it doesn’t feel that way. It’s the people and their actions that make it personal

Meanwhile, for Sky, killing Hylians itself is personal to him. The action of someone hurting his loved ones is insulting, but he makes it personal by killing them for it. The Master Sword was meant for gods and demons and creatures of darkness. To turn it on a fellow Hylian is the most personal thing Sky can do, because he is not supposed too. Not even as a Knight of Skyloft is he supposed to kill other Hylians.

Warriors is expected to handle things as a soldier and Captain. He’s expected to holdfast and despose of traitors.

Sky is expected to be a fairytale. A demonslayer and godslayer.

The most personal thing Warriors can do is care as a soldier. The most personal thing Sky can do is execute those he is divinely-chosen to protect from evil.

I thought Time was the straight man to the chain's shenanigans but in reality he used to be just like them and so doesn't personally see anything really wrong with their behaviour.

However where he's matured into simply acknowledging the outsider 'normal' view, Warriors internalised it before even donning the hero's scarf and has always been too conscious of how he's perceived.

I think I've said it before but Warriors didn't have a traditional adventure like the others, cities and towns aren't just pitstops for him so he respects infrastructure and social decorum. Plus he's used to minding his reputation and maintaining his perfect image. Whereas most of the others had the freedom to act pretty much like cryptids, showing up out of nowhere, spawning local legends and then disappearing after doing only slightly more good than harm.

Even without that pressure Warriors is still holding himself to that standard and even extended it over the others. Had they actually done something weird Time would've have called them out on it, but he didn't in this case because a bit of parkour is like...fine? It's really not that big a deal. They didn't break anything. I just find this aspect of the Captain's character interesting.

LEGEND MY BOYYY

A lot of people headcanon that he has sore joints... I like the theory but isn't he still young? What happened T-T

Well, it can depend on how old you headcannon him to be. I headcannon him being anywhere from 17-19 years old most of the time. It varies depending on the story. Though, from personal experience and from personal connections, having sore and creaky joints at those ages is definitely not impossible or entirely unlikely...

The headcannon stems from him being thrown into adventuring at such a young age. And has been adventuring and saving kingdoms since then. Due to a lack of proper nourishment and, well, lifestyle entirely, his body has retaliated. Some people even say it's stunted his growth (since he is pretty smol)

And having been injured so many times in all sorts of ways during his most important period for physical growth has left it's mark. Both by Scars and chronic pains.

New headcanon for Legend! (Echoes of Wisdom Spoilers)

The rifts DID take his voice, but he has a ring he found called "The jabber ring" (or something) that let's him speak like normal.

So if he isn't wearing it or is in an area with Anti-magic he is back to no longer being able to speak.

Headcanon I gotta write somewhere before I forget! (and I just wanna share it lol) Because of how often solving puzzles has been a part of literally saving their kingdoms and peoples’ lives, none of the chain really do puzzles casually without the aura of someone who is still on a life-or-death mission.

The first time Malon sat down to do a jigsaw puzzle with Time after MM he was staring at the pieces with such an intensity you’d think they’d personally wronged him, always careful with how he set down each piece like putting it in the wrong spot might set off a trap. Yes, Malon was worried. No, Time hadn’t realised he’d been focusing that hard.

Legend does puzzles with a (seemingly subconscious) terrifying speed and efficiency, as if he’s desperate to get it done, but ask him about it and he’ll claim he didn’t even realise how fast he was working through it.

Wind goes quiet. Like, the quietest you’ll ever hear him, except for the occasional mumblings under his breath if he’s struggling with some aspect of the puzzle. He looks older when he’s that concentrated, almost like he’s back in the Temple of the Ocean King.

Warriors doesn’t get like this as much as the others, since his adventure was a war, but strategy games have a similar effect. No one can beat him at chess. You can almost see the cogs turning at ungodly speeds in his mind. His wins are precise, quick, and would be deadly in a real life scenario. It’s always disconcerting when he offers you his hand at the end of a match and congratulates you on a good game.

I’ve got nothing for the others yet lol
