Have you ever seen a lucet? A lucet is an ancient tool used for making box cordage and here I’m using my historical replica bone lucet to make up the shoulder strap cord for the crochet beetroot bag. Since the cord is hollow, I’m planning to thread a thin cotton cord through it to give the strap some rigidity and prevent stretching when the bag is weighted.

I realized I could 3d print a lucet fork instead of going out to buy one and its working perfectly! Of course I would prefer a nice wood one but ill happily make do with what I have. Im doing a pretty loose braid here because I want to use this silver cord to embroider onto my headpiece for renfair and I think its coming out beautifully.

Made a cross body phone bag for an elderly friend who lives alone.

Wove body panels & flap on small frame loom, lined flap with felt (for stability), lucet braid trim & button loop on flap, lined with layered felt & minky (minky so phone slips out easily & layers for padding), & loom knit icord strap (with defunct charge cord inside for stability).

The embellishments on my cardigan are complete. I'll try and get a full picture of me wearing it soon, but here are the main things I added: red trim around the neckline, red and blue trim around the cuff, and blue and white trim above the pockets.

I also found some holes and tried out a new method of darning. It's the traditional surface darning method where you just catch threads along the edge. But I don't usually use it. Usually, I do weave the threads into the fabric as much as possible, like the grey darns pictured that I did last year on this same cardigan.
