Screw Hogwarts Houses (and JK Rowling) tell me what degree you would be taking at a magical university:
Thaumaturgical Artificing- The scientific study and application of magic as it pertains to Alchemy (the creation of of potions) and Arcana (the engineering of magical devices).
Necromantic Studies- A degree for those looking for the most modern and ethical methods of raising the dead.
Arcanic Anthropology- This degree walks students through the history of magical artifacts, how to find them, and their proper uses to aspiring Sorcerers and non-magic users alike.
Linguistic Incantology- The study of the properties of magical languages as well as the characteristics of those languages in general ascertained in order to gain mastery over the magical art of incantation.
Magiphysical Sciences- The study of Humanoid systems, anatomy, and physical health and fitness as it pertains to magical gestures and more physically involved magic systems.
Mystic Virology- The study of magical diseases and curses, their effects on the humanoid form, and the treatments and counterhexes for such magical conditions.
Enchanted Horticulture- A branch of Enchanted agriculture that focuses on cultivation of magical gardens for the purposes of spells, medicine, and consumption.
General Studies- This degree covers the most basic information on various magical studies and provides a great opportunity for students to discover their magical passions and/or complete their prerequisite courses before moving on to a more advanced degree.

MLB Tales of Miracle Blurb
Im just putting this here for future reference to myself before the idea fades away like most of the other ones did. So, after the Egypt arc I'm wanting to do this thing where Marinette delves in Marcus's study to find any clues whatsoever that would direct the Miracles where Merlin and his henchmen might be, or at least have a better idea of how to stop Merlin's diabolical plots from unfolding. However, she doesn't find anything related to Virtuous Seven because Marcus made a point to never bring that psychopath or anything tied to Merlin close to his family again. What she does find is a series of, for the lack of a better word right now, spell scrolls that are both advanced and powerful if used correctly.
However, as Marinette was still technically a Novice when it came to magic, she recognized the magical aura from the scrolls, but not the contents of them. So she brings them to Anna's (Lucien's stepmother) attention where the knowledgeable mage informs Marinette of the spells. I know one of them is the equivalent of a Magnificent Mansion from Dungeons and Dragons (because I'm so creative, sue me but not literally). The reason I'm focusing the story on this aspect is simply because Marinette would have realized at this point that Miracles needs a suitable base of operations especially if they intend to go outside of Paris. Somewhere that's secluded and not easily accessible, you get the picture of where this is going. However, Marinette is warned of the dangers when learning something like Magnificent Mansion as it quite literally creates a pocket that rests between the Real Space and the Spirit World. Failure to perform the spell correctly can tear a hole between these two realms and consequently expose the world to the spiritual side of things.
Naturally, Marinette isn't entirely confident whether she could pull it off correctly, especially if she's able to muster the spirit energy to create such a thing in the first place. (She actually has quite an abundance of energy at this point that rivals with Lucien's, she just hasn't figured out how to refine her control over it just yet to perform higher ranked spells). So she gets with Lucien, probably cue a comedy-romance bit between them, as Marinette practically begged Lucien to learn the spell as he would have a much higher chance to use it without making as many mistakes.
Eventually, Lucien does in fact figure out how to use it and is able to create a safe space whenever he desired, but Marinette used her previous enchantment that she made Lucien keep on him that allows her to copy any spell he uses for a one-time freebie basically due to their spiritual connection. So, she took that freebie and decided to craft a pair of magical keys that can fit in any mechanical lock (modern tech doesn't work) and essentially it opens a doorway into the mansion. Lucinette (Marinette x Lucien) works together to essentially create their own demiplane with the mansion at the center so that Team Miracles can have a safe space to retreat, rest, train, or socialize with each other when they're too far away in the Real Space. But it can only be accessed by inserting one of these magical keys within a lock, such as a door, and the object attached to the lock becomes a portal to this demiplane. Likewise, nobody can get in without said key (but there's still going to be security risks involved, I just haven't figured it out what it could be yet)
Do vampires have to pay attention to what type of blood they’re drinking?
And if so, are there some weird twists?
Do they have to drink the same type as theirs? or can they only drink the least compatible (for transfusions) one?
cause ABs kann accept any transfusion and 0s can give everyone a transfusion…. would that flip?
Worldbuilding Nelvauris: Magic
Nelvauris is a world with magic ingrained into its very core. Magic is a part of the world the same way gravity is a part of ours, it is something everyone interacts with and everyone has some form of basic understanding of. Magic in Nelvauris is, however, a bit of an odder concept than you may imagine. The largest oddity is the fact that magic and science are two sides of the same coin, not in…

I tend to think that monster biology in the ut/dr universes is like, construction of dust and how magic holds it together and stimulates dust growth like humans’ cell growth, and why every monster has a uniquely different magical signature even from their parents, and why there’s no such thing as “magic types” like there are blood types which effectively makes magic transfusions impossible because there are no types and therefor no compatibilities, and why therefor it’s so much more dangerous for monsters to lose a shitton of magic than it really is for humans to lose a shitton of blood (assuming both subjects have full access to extensive medical care), etc etc.
Um. I think about these things. Often.
Woah that’s a lot of detail for a theory…I love it.
I’ll be honest, I don’t have the same in detail explanation. (Yet) I really enjoy speculation tho!

I have really bad writer's block at the moment, so most of my WIPs sound more like Wikipedia synopses for my stories if they already existed than actual stories themselves. I cobbled together some exposition into a brief preamble for a fantasy story I'm working on
Physicists prefer not to use the m-word when dealing with the so-called inexplicable phenomena of the universe. They've come up with fancy names for it like "complex radiation" or "the fifth fundamental force," and it's generally accepted as a third theoretical framework somewhere between quantum mechanics (the physics of the subatomically small) and general relativity (the physics of the astronomically large), but our current understanding of it does little to bridge the gap between the two. Hollywood likes referring to it as "dark science," a term which was briefly adopted by academics in the 90s as an attempt to categorize it alongside dark matter and dark energy (neither of which it can fully explain), but soon abandoned because it carried negative connotations and did not adequately reflect the field. It did inspire an entire generation of scientists if for no other reason than it sounds cool as hell. Even so, you'd be hard-pressed to find a regular person outside of a lab, university, or studio who would call it anything but the forbidden word itself; magic.
That's 176 words, which is too many, so I'm gonna tag all my active mutuals
