1. I adore A Wrinkle in Time, and if you don’t, try again 2. Honestly I just love Madeleine L’Engle period 3. The “best thing I’ve ever done” scene / shed scene is very similar to this scene of Meg getting Charles Wallace back from the evil that is possessing him, simply by loving him with all her might 4. Suddenly finding myself wondering if maybe at some point this will be how we’ll get a Mike confession. The mindflayer / demogorgon / etc sure do like to possess Will. Maybe next time it happens he’ll need a love confession to snap him out of it! ;D We’ll see!
I know that everyone talks about Meg and Charles Wallace from A Wrinkle in Time being autistic and that’s great but what about autistic Alex Murray. Alex didn’t get assessed as a kid because of lack of resources but he always knew that he was different from other people his age. He’s not really able to be fully at ease with his co workers unless Kate is with him plus he’ll wear cardigans until they’re threadbare because comfort reasons

Meg finds it difficult to wrap her mind around abstract concepts at first, until she figures out how she fits into the larger puzzle. Once she knows the object is to find and rescue her dad, she is able to focus and stay detached when Charles Wallace becomes IT. She’s fascinated…

ThrowBook Thursday | A Wrinkle in Time
Tessering with Meg Murry, Mrs. Who, Mrs. Which & Mrs. Whatsit was my first taste of science fiction. And while Meg didn’t necessarily look like me, I found a lot of similarities - the love of math and science and definitely the self-consciousness. I gave this a reread about a year or so ago, but I’ve never actually read the others in the series so I’ll have to get on that soon. I also loved the 2018 movie - it was everything my middle school self needed! 😍🤓

She is my favorite character of all time. Bar none. I love A Wrinkle in Time (the book, the movie was absolute garbage. I hate it. I hate it. Sosososososo much. It didn’t get anything that book was trying to say. I’ve waited for forever for another shot at a Wrinkle in Time adaptation, and that’s what Disney gave me? I hate it), it’s my favorite book of all time. I love everything about Meg, I love that she has anger issues, I love that she has confidence issues but isn’t afraid to stand up to people who treat her like she’s stupid. I love that she’s a math wiz, and loves her family without question and indefinitely, I love she finds her inner strength and fights an indescribably big and powerful force of evil with just the strength of her love. She’s tough and strong, and caring and a real force of nature.
The Little Warrior! Just got back from A Wrinkle in Time and it was so good! Be the light ✨
