i would like to preface i was thinking “they” was just synonymous with “people” and didn’t initially read it as it specifically referring to black people— bc it’s been a large amount of the community on here admonishing that one account who was black phishing.

however— if the anon ppl in my message box are specifically referring to black people starting “witch hunts” on white writers than that is also incredibly insensitive and is completely dodging the point of the situation going on right now (as you said) and is further perpetuating a lack of accountability ALSO using michael as shield is disgusting and abhorrently disrespectful

semi in relation— i went down a rabbit hole of all this stuff regarding the ebony account and the way my jaw dropped at the excuses being used. especially saying she felt like (on her own accord) that the black community accepted her solely on the fact she’s a fan of michael??? the entitlement is insane but when i found out she was also british??? and at her grown age (im assuming in her 20s?) and the big year of 2026 i truly don’t understand people’s lack of “education” and it honestly feels like a blanket statement for her to just say she didn’t care until she got caught — i also find it funny she left her account up and only wrote “deactivated” in her bio and if she did feel bad she would actually take down her account in total bc leaving it up lets her likes and follower count stay

anyway, i try to be as transparent as possible on here about where i stand and my beliefs (i go on political rants now and then — speaking of if you live in south carolina they’re holding a special election due to that racist ass senator passing away this morning so make sure you go out and vote if you’re able to)— but yeah, i try to be open and honest. i’ve never claimed to be another race and i don’t think white writers are being “bullied” off the app— yes, people can be rude but like c’mon there are bigger issues and if you know you aren’t doing anything wrong then let it be background noise.

i try to be as respectful as possible in all my writing and i truly hope it reflects that way and that everyone is able to enjoy it

im always open to discussions about these things! i’ve gotten a few messages from people saying they feel bad if they’re getting “too political” but personally nothing is ever NOT political and im happy to talk about it— like recently someone asked me about the micro aggressions towards jermajesty (which is unfortunately rampant on here and tiktok it’s disgusting)— but i think talking about it is important and brings awareness. next time you see someone making fun of his name or appearance i beg you to ask that person why they think that and watch them start to backtrack

I tend to hear about micro aggressions done by white people. But as a mixed girl, I get more weird stuff said by my Black family members. It feels so ridiculous and self-discriminatory.

Mainly stuff like colorism and texturism. I visited that side of the family recently and the first time a family member meets me, he touches my curly hair without asking and asks if it’s real (What if it hadn’t been? That’s a really weird thing to ask. A white person would have been corrected). And then, because he’s partially blind, he asks “What color? Blond?” in this horribly hopeful way.

And my grandmother does a very similar thing every time she visits me too. This Black woman stands there telling me how my hair is so pretty and comparing me to my (more Black & more African American presenting) half sisters, and this time claimed that I look like “this one movie star” (I look nothing like; it’s only the fact that I have lighter skin and curls).

And now my youngest half brother came out lighter than the others even though he’s less mixed than me. And she’s comparing us and how “people will know those two are related. They look just alike.” I feel bad for the kid if he darkens up as he gets older (which is likely) because she already has him on a pedestal, it seems.

And she has dark skin and textured afro hair that I don’t remember if I’ve ever seen her wear natural. I just wish she could appreciate those features the same way. Your grandkids who look more like you are equally pretty (actually my darkest skinned sister looks like an actual model, so prettier), Grandma. My white and Asian dna don’t increase my value. We can let go of the house-slave field-slave stupid propaganda you were taught by culture 😭

i hate when someone says, “it's not that deep,” when discussing lesser-known dog whistles and/or micro-aggressions. it absolutely is that deep, but i love (hate) your confidence!

A few things I’ve done due to antisemitism:

1. Left a school that didn’t even realize the amount of micro aggressions directed towards me.

2. Stopped wearing my Magen David necklace.

3. Changed my uber name to Rebecca.

4. I no longer tell people I meet that I’m Jewish.

5. Refrained from having an Israeli flag magnet on my car out of fear that it would get keyed.

6. I will wear a Chanukah shirt tomorrow so my kids get a thrill, but I’ll wear a cardigan over it in public.

I’m proud to be a Jew. Judaism is very important to me.

And the fact that now I’m scared to even be thought of as Jewish is just so, so sad.
