Anti-oppression
Some thing I hate about social interactions is that it's not common practice to let the other person know about triggers and other important issues that are relevant to our identities. It's like, we give so much time trying to be kind to each other, but then we don't take the time to find out what's actually deeply important. We ask "How do you like the weather?" instead of "What are your pronouns?" We make idle small talk when meeting someone for the first time instead of asking them about triggers that are important to avoid. We assume white cis-hetero-able-bodied-neurotypical interactions, and as a result we perpetuate a system of micro-aggressions, not from a place of malice, but from ignorance and from normalization of individual identities. This year I'm trying to decolonize my mind, getting rid of all those pointless practices that help perpetuate normality and subtle violence that invades everyday life.
