My Teacher Sharathji says that catching keeps the spine from getting hunched in old age, it opens Granthis, which are energetic knots in the body, and it raises the Kundalini. The Granthis keep the Kundalini from rising. As Kundalini rises, awareness rises. For a lot of people, it is the only pose that you ever get assisted on in the shala as for my observation whenever I'm in KPJAYI. Catching or grabbing the backs of the legs during backbending is something that almost everyone works on. Even if you don’t catch, there will be someone who will help or assist you to walk in as far as you can as if you were going to catch. It is rare for someone to not have to attempt to catch. Whatever I teach to my students are basically what I learned from my trips to Mysore and from my Teacher. This is called ‘Parampara’ which literally means an uninterrupted succession and denotes the direct and unbroken transfer of knowledge from teacher to student. The Ashtanga Yoga Method is founded on parampara and a commitment to its established instruction. ➡️Join our Mysore Morning classes at @yogaplusexpress.legazpi every Mondays to Fridays 6:30am, Saturday Led 7:00am➡️ Our Mysore Evening class Mondays to Fridays except Wednesdays 6:30pm at the Cleveland Tower. ✌😊💙 . . . . . #yoga #yogamen #yogadudes #yogalove #yogainspiration #yogaeverydamnday #yogaformen #yogaforlife #boysofyoga #mensyoga #yogateacher #ashtangateacher #yogaph #yogaphilippines #yogamanila #ashtanga #ashtangayoga #ashtangi #backbend #catching #adjustments #igersmanila #fit #fitspo #ashtangamanila #igyoga #instayoga #madaboutyoga #mysorestyle #MysoreMornings (at Cleveland Tower)
