Cw: DARKFIC,DUB-CON/NON-CON, STEPCEST, poisoning, non-con drugging, implied murder, implied death, crime, tell me if I missed any.
It was a daring act —reckless and stupid. Pushed to make an ultimatum, to decide to poison your stepfather and his best friend. To slip rat poison - easily acquired and rarely inquired about the purchase of it - into their drinks whenever they were looking. You looked it up when you went to the library, one of the few places they didn’t follow you, and searched all types of poison under another’s account to keep yourself clean and innocent. It’d take small doses on a long period to make it seem natural - or as natural as it would seem - and absolve you of any crime.
You had it all planned, and, despite how reckless it was, you still went with it. Hiding the distinct taste of rat with the strong burn of alcohol in their hard liquor and serving them when König waved his hand at you. You cycled through a metal phosphide and an anticoagulant, thinking that one would corrode the body from the inside, killing them slowly and painfully. A fitting revenge. While the other would staunch the production of vitamin K and make the smallest bruise life threatening, causing them to bleed internally until they were administered a shot of vitamin to start the production of it.
It seemed full proof —perfect. Weeks turned to months of planning and spending your hard-earned cash to buy small amounts over the months of use and committing to it while you swallowed down your nerves and anxiety about it. The small tremble in your hands when you mixed the powder into their drinks, watching the fine powder dissolve into nothing, the once heterogeneous substance calming to a bright, homogeneous amber.
But how were you supposed to know they had the nose of a bloodhound? They were soldiers, cautious and like-minded with killers of their calibre, but how? How could you know that they were instinctively familiar enough with rodenticideto sniff it out in the whiskey you poured for them. It was scent less and tasteless, and yet they knew —they knew of your little plan and weren’t happy about it. Amused, yes; entertained by your brawl, yes; but happy? No, not on the attempt on their lives.
Praising your brilliant, but failed plan, they hounded you to your room, reminding you that they were in control and that you wouldn’t be able to escape them. They murmured it, screamed and lashed you with the words with every drive of their hips, ramming their slick girth into you to teach - teach once more - your the lesson you seemed to forget. Their hands bruising your hips and thighs with big, purple palms and their teeth bleeding your shoulders and throat, latching onto your skin until you every part of you was marked.
Left battered and exhausted, limp and motionless between them with your sheets and body covered in slick, cum and blood, you wouldn’t forget this lesson any time soon.
Home Alone Yandere! Simon 'Ghost' Riley x Female Reader Chapter Two
Author note- Here we are back again with chapter two of Home Alone. Now as you can gather I like to mention any and all trigger warnings in the authors notes before we proceed. If that's okay with everyone. Anyways this chapter will feature such things as stalking, violence. and non-con touching, non-con drugging almost non-con SA as well as more obsessive thoughts from our boy, Simon. And more paranoia from our poor reader.
Now that we got THAT out of the way here is Chapter Two. I hope you enjoy.
Chapter Two.
You were exhausted. Having spent most of the night tossing and turning, and now you were on your third coffee of the day. The good news was that you didn't have to work today. The bad news was you were meeting your sisters for lunch soon and all you wanted to do was sleep. And to top it off? Was you were so sure you had closed your window last night, the one that didn't lock, the one you had meant to talk to your landlord about but it always slipped your mind. Normally it wouldn't bother you but you could swear that someone had been watching you.
And during the night you could have swore you saw a large figure concealed in the shadows of you room, wearing a mask with a skull on it. But as dawn broke you brushed it off as a nightmare. And in all honesty nothing seemed out of place, though if you really looked you would noticed that a couple pairs of panties were missing, thankfully not the ones that were your favorites, but if you really looked you would notice a pair of pink and red panties with a bow on the butt had gone missing, as well as a pair of maroon panties. No big deal you bought panties in bulk it would seem, considering how often you lost panties. Oh, if only you knew...
Heaving a tired sigh that turned into another yawn you went to your bathroom intent on grabbing a shower, not knowing that during the night the seaweed scented body wash you had been using, that you loved had been replaced with a new bottle, or how your razor, one that had been replaced because your old one had looked rather rough. Not that you'd really notice the difference you never did, brushing it off as something you did but had forgotten about.
Turning on the water you heaved a sigh as hot water cascaded over you, tilting your head back you tried to push the odd thoughts from your head, surely there was no one following you, right? Shaking your head you turned off the water, and stepped out of it, wrapping a towel around yourself you stepped into your bedroom, getting dressed for the day. Unbeknownst to you of the man clad in black sitting outside your apartment, staring up at the window of your apartment.
One day Simon would find the courage to speak to you, to actually meet you, not as Ghost, but as the real him, the real Simon Riley. Taking a drag of his cigarette he turned away from your apartment and walked off. He would be back tonight. But for now he would be watching, always.
***
"Are you okay?" You older sister, Lynda asked.
You nodded, before stifling another yawn. You, Lynda, and your younger sister, Amy sat in one of your favorite cafes catching up on your day to day life. Lynda had told you about her job, and her current boyfriend that she had been dating for a few weeks now. And your younger sister had told you about her job, and school. Claiming that she was having trouble with one of her classmates, but things had worked out in the end.
"And you?" Amy asked, looking to you.
You bit down on your bottom lip and shrugged your shoulders. "Works been okay, but it's funny..." You trailed off, glancing out the window of the cafe, your eyes widening when you caught a glimpse of a large man staring right at you. Dark brown eyes that were almost black stared right at you. The rest of his face covered with a black balaclava with a skull emblazoned on it. A chill running down her spine.
"Y/N?" Lynda asked, jerking you from your thoughts. "You okay?"
You continued to stare when Lynda tapped you on your shoulder, jerking you from your staring contest, when you looked back he was gone. "I think I'm going crazy." You told your sisters.
The both of them looked to you. "Old news." Amy joked, and was rewarded with a laugh from Lynda.
Okay, you couldn't help but muster a chuckle at that, however your smile soon disappeared.
"No, seriously." Any spoke, placing a hand on your shoulder. "What's going on?"
Taking a sip of your tea you took a deep breath. Maybe you were being silly, maybe you were being paranoid. But maybe telling your sisters what was going on, how you thought you were being followed, how you thought someone had been in your apartment, had seen some guy at your work, and now outside the cafe.
Both Amy and Lynda looked to you as you spilled your guts, looks of worry etched on their faces. "Have you done anything about it? Asked your manager? Or called the cops?"
You shook your head. You knew they had a point, if someone was stalking you it would be best to get others involved. But whenever you noticed the stranger he was gone in a blink of an eye. So quickly you thought it was just your imagination. But maybe it would be best to get someone involved. The the big question was, what would you tell the cops. 'Help, there's a strange man stalking me. And I have no idea what he looks like.' Yeah, that would go over so well. Aside from his eyes and the fact that he was a big dude you really didn't have much on him.
Shaking your head sigh, you're at a loss for what to do. Downing the rest of your drink you get up from your seat, wishing your sisters a good day before leaving.
***
You knew I was watching you, didn't you? Simon thought, dark eyes tracking you as you left the cafe and headed home, Simon trailing behind you. Occasionally you would glance over your shoulder, and every time you did he would dart down an alleyway, occasionally you'd catch a glimpse of him and quicken your pace. Until you finally reached your apartment, glancing over your shoulder as you did. And as he watched you Simon couldn't help but wonder if there would ever be a day when he would be able to talk to you, touch you.
Shaking his head he walked away.
***
Days had passed since you had spoke with your sisters, and now you found yourself in your work breakroom, a cup of bitter black coffee in you hands as you talked with your coworkers, listening to them discuss their plans for the night. When one of them turns to you, Stacy.
"So, Y/N what are your plans for the night?" She asked.
You thought for a moment, if you were being honest you really didn't want to go home. Didn't want to be alone. So maybe hanging out with your friends after work would do you some good.
"No really, why?" You asked.
"Well me and Kayla are going to this new club downtown, want to come?"
That sounded like a good idea. Smiling you nodded. Perhaps this would help you forget about what was going on, there was no way your stalker would follow you to a crowded place like that, right?
"Great! We'll pick you up around eight. Wear something cute, there are going to be a ton of cute guys there, you might meet someone there." Stacy said.
If you were being honest you weren't really looking for anyone but you weren't going to tell her that. You liked Stacy and Kayla but they always seemed to be trying to hook you up with someone. So you said nothing. And before long your shift ended without incident. And were now wandering around your apartment trying on various outfits, before finally picking on a short black dress. And were now fixing up your make up, painting your lips a dark red.
Placing the lipstick in your purse, before looking at yourself in the mirror, smiling, satisfied with how you look before turning away from your mirror as you hear a knock at the door. Opening it you were greeted your friends, a wide smile on your lips.
"You ready?" Kayla asked.
Smiling you nodded, before closing and locking the door, before following after your friends. Unaware of the eyes on your retreating back. Unaware of the large man following you as you laughed and joked with your friends, as you got into the car, Simon following suit, following you into the club you and your friends had gone to, him following after. And soon disappeared into the crowd and drunken and probably high club goers.
Eyes on you, always on you, watching as you danced, the tight black dress you wore hugging your curves, and perhaps to him was a tad too short if the hungry glances other men shot were were any indication. Anger swelled in Simon's chest as he moved closer to you, when from the corner of his eye he caught movement, seeing a man with spiky black hair and torn jeans saunter up to you while you were dancing. Alarm bells began to ring in Simon's head at the hungry look on the mans face as he placed his hands on you, clenching his fists he moved closer to you, watching as you and this man, no, not a man, a boy danced, a sultry smile on your painted lips.
***
God, you needed this. You thought as you stepped into the club, eyes widening as you looked around at all the dancing people, before following your friends to the bar, and ordering a few drinks, before glancing at the over crowded dance floor, Kayla and Stacy glancing around at the men, who looked at the three of you, and you would admit it did make you feel kind of uncomfortable, but you quickly brushed it off. You would have fun tonight, whether you went home with someone or by yourself.
Downing your drink you looked to the girls, and blinked as they were nowhere in sight, obviously having melted into the throbbing mass of people before you. Great. Hopefully you would be able to find them by the end of the night. And if you couldn't you had your phone to where they were at when it was time to call it a night-
You didn't have your phone...
"Fuck..." you muttered, looking through your purse once more, and found it gone. Obviously you had left it on your nightstand as you busied yourself with getting ready to go out. Great.
Hopefully you wouldn't need it, or run into trouble where you'd need to call someone. Shoving that thought from your head you moved towards the dance floor, letting the music take you away from all your problems, occasionally going to the bar to buy a few more drinks, and as the night went on you felt yourself getting more and more tipsy. When you felt hands on your swaying hips, followed by the feel of someone pressing up against you, looking over your shoulder you saw a man around your age looking down at you, and offered him a smile as you looked him up and down.
He wasn't too bad looking, but perhaps that was the alcohol talking. But hell, you had come here to let loose and have fun. So why not dance with this guy? Turning around in his grasp you place your hands on his shoulders. Smiling seductively at him as the music continued on and you and your unnamed friend continued to dance until the song ended.
"You got some pretty sweet moves." He said, smirking down at you.
"Thanks." God, you never knew what to say in these situations. But this unnamed gentleman only chuckled. "Names Danny, and you are..."
"Y/N." You answered.
"Well, Y/N, can I buy you a drink? You look like you could use it after all of that." Danny said.
You should say no. Something about him seems...off. But maybe it's the alcohol maybe it's the fact that something seems off, but still you accept. Smiling when Danny went off to get you another drink. Unknown to you that Danny had slipped something into your drink before approaching you once more.
You thanked him, smiling at him. Danny watching as you took a sip, a dark look on his face as you did so. Little did he know was that a certain someone was watch him and was seeing red.
***
A low, animalistic growl escaped Simon as he witnessed this all happening before him, fists clenched he stalked to where the two of you were. Eyes glued on you as he saw that whatever that guy slipped into your drink finally took effect, and the guy wasted no time putting his hands on you, muttering some reassurances that you would be okay, a slimy smile on his face as he guided you towards the exit, Simon trailing behind.
While it was true you would be okay, the man that had drugged you, wouldn't live to see tomorrow...
***
Something was wrong. You felt wrong, all the colors were swimming together and you felt dizzy, were you sick?
"You okay?" Danny asked you, placing a hand on your shoulder, steadying you. Concern in his voice.
"I-I don't... know?" you murmured, your words slurring. Stumbling into his arms.
"Let's get you home then."
"B-but..." You tried to get out, he didn't know where you lived, so where was he taking you? Fear gripped you as he guided you towards the exit as you struggled to get away, to no avail as Danny lead you outside towards what you couldn't only assume was his car.
"Please, I just want to find my friends." You whimpered, trying in vain to break free of his grip.
"Relax, beautiful. Everything is going to be all right." Danny drawled, a slimy grin on his face, eyes looking you up and down, his cock twitching at the thought of all the things he would do to you when he got you to his home. Completely unaware of the large looming figure creeping up behind him, a figure clad in all black.
Not until he found himself slammed against the brick wall of the building the two of you stepped out of, the air knocked out of his lungs.
"What the fu-" Before he could even finish his sentence a fist connected with his face, breaking his nose in the process, blood spilling down his lips. Crying out he stumbled, blinking back tears as he managed to push himself away from the wall, and the walking pillar of death that was one Simon Riley, towards where you lay on the dirty ground. Having finally passed out, and were completely unaware of the danger you were in.
But he didn't get far as Simon grabbed him and drove his fist into his stomach, making him vomit up the contents of his stomach. The punch was soon followed by a kick to the ribs, dropping him to the ground. Poor Danny tried emphasis on tried to ward off the blows that rained down on him in rapid succession, he screamed and cried as he felt his bones snap, as he spat out his teeth. Oh, he tried to scream, to beg, to get whoever was beating him to stop but he was too busy spitting out his teeth and vomiting blood to get a word out. And sadly, he was pretty certain whoever this guy was, and he was beginning to suspect that this guy was one of your friends wasn't going to stop until he was dead.
And he was a right, as the last thing he saw was a size twelve boot stomping down on his head, then nothing.
Simon saw red, anger like he had never felt before consuming him as he grabbed that scum that thought he could hurt you, take advantage of you. An animalist growl escaping him as he threw the guy against the building as that was the last thing he remembered as he slowly calmed down, looking down at the bloody body, he had beaten the guy to an unrecognizable mess, his face was a mess of blood, his teeth laying scattered on the ground. Simon heaved a deep breath as he looked down at his hands, noting that he had beaten the guy so damned hard he had split the skin on his knuckles.
Nothing he hadn't endured before, something he could take care of later. But for now, he needed to take you home. Wiping his hands on his jeans he picked you up, dark eyes looking you over, looking for any sign of injuries and noted your skinned knees. Obviously from when he had grabbed the guy, forcing him to drop you. He would take care of those when he got you home. Nodding to himself Simon headed to where his truck was, placing you in the passenger seat before driving off to your apartment. Even though all he really wanted was to bring you to his home, to keep you locked away, safe from people like that man who drugged you, and from your friends that left you all alone at the club. Leaving you vulnerable.
But no matter, when he was sure you were safe he would take care of your friends and then he would work on turning his home into the perfect place for you.
The drive to your house wasn't very long, Simon was silent as he carried you to your apartment, fishing through your purse for your apartment key, and unlocking the door. Simon wasted no time carrying you to your room, and undressing you before putting you in your pajamas, before moving to your bathroom where he would assume you kept your medical supplies and found some disinfectant as well as some band aids. Cleaning up your skinned knees he bandaged them before looking down at you once more as he pulled the covers over you.
You had no idea who he was, to you he was just another face in the crowd, one of many. But to him you were everything, there was just something about you that drew him to you. And he knew he couldn't just walk away this time, not yet. Pulling his mask over his nose he brushed his thumb against your bottom lip, relishing the feel of how soft your lips were against the rough pad of his thumb. Licking his lips he leaned down and placed a gentle kiss to them before pulling away somewhat reluctantly.
Trailing his fingers across your cheek he turned away from you. You would be his one day, but for now Simon had some work to do getting rid of those that would harm you. "Goodnight, Y/N." He whispered, before melting into the shadows.

Authors Notes- Thus concludes Chapter Two. Sorry it took forever, life you know. Also I apologize if Simon might be a little OOC. Couldn't help it.
They woke up leaning back in a chair. A lot of things were immediately brought to their attention. Soft, leather cuffs with a straight bar were chained to the table, holding their wrists in front of them. Something was covering their face and pushing down on their tongue, stopping them from talking. It took a moment for Whumpee’s mind to catch up to what it was.
A muzzle.
But they didn’t have long to dwell on that realization as the door opened and two people walked in. The first was a tall woman in a suit. She had a very professional demeanor about her. The second was shorter, dressed more casually, jeans instead of slacks, a button up shirt, but no blazer, although they looked a little stressed, and they kept messing with one of the buttons on their shirt. Whumpee pulled back as the shorter one approached, they sat in the chair opposite Whumpee. The woman just walked to a corner of the room, she had a clipboard and an oddly cheery disposition.
“Wow, you weren’t kidding.” It came with a nervous laugh as the person across from them looked back to the woman “Shouldn’t they have been out for another couple hours?”
“Yes. The agent we worked with said they had an oddly strong resistance to the sedatives.”
Whumpee hated this, it was already getting hard to focus as panic from their situation started to rise, and their shallow breaths weren’t helping as they tried another tug of their cuffs.
“Oh no. They look so stressed.” The shorter one said it with surprising sincerity. And the woman off to the side chimed in.
“That’s normal, Whumper. The pets you usually get have been conditioned before they get to you. It is still an option if you want.”
A pet. Conditioned. This person was insane, and they gave the lady a look that said as much, but their attention was brought back to the person they now knew as Whumper.
“No. I did my research, I know it’s hard work, but I can do this. The pets I get from facilities are just never quite right, and I’ve had my eye on this one for so long. I don’t want to mess it up.”
Their vision had gone blurry, but that had really gotten to them. How long had this person been stalking them? How long had they been planning this? They had clearly paid off at least two people for their creepy fantasy, how many more people were involved in this? They could feel hot tears form in their eyes.
“They look really stressed. Is it something I said?” Their… buyer must have seen their very outward signs of distress, but that woman chimed in again with more reassurances.
“No, no. They just aren’t used to you yet. I’ve seen a lot of new pets, before conditioning, that go through this phase. Most of them don’t even know being a pet is an option until it’s explained to them. Besides that, you have to remember, they were pulled out of their home environment, and, especially with the drive over, waking up in a new place, I’m sure it was really stressful for them.”
“You’re right. I know you are, it’s just a little jarring. I did read that explaining the situation could help. What do you think?”
Explain the situation. What the hell is wrong with these people?
“Yes, I think that is a very good decision.”
Wrong. Bad decision, Whumpee just wanted to leave, and this person who thought humans could be pets was getting closer and was definitely not helping the situation.
“Hi, I’m Whumper.” It was said in a very calm, reassuring voice.
It was neither, and in fact, just made it worse, as Whumpee struggled to keep their thoughts in front of them. They had to stay here if they ever wanted to get out.
“I know this is very stressful for you, but if we work together, I think this will be a very good forever-home for you.”
NO. Holy shit. No. And they tried to say as much, but the muzzle stopped anything other than muffled cries and whimpers from getting out. And to top it all off, the tears that had been welling up in their eyes were finally falling. Every word made it harder to stop their mind from trying to run away, but the ringing had started.
“Did I say something wrong?”
“Of course not. You saw the condition they were in when we arrived. I doubt anything you could have said would have caused a different ending. I did prepare for this though.” The words took a moment for Whumpee to fully understand, most of it was muffled by the ringing or the blood rushing or their heart pounding in their chest. It took even longer for them to understand the sharp pain somewhere on their arm. A syringe. with the syringe. It wasn’t long before the drug mixed with their already distant mind and everything faded.
Whumper kept Whumpee drugged up for years so they couldn't escape. After being rescued, Whumpee drifts for days as the drugs slowly leave their system. They're only partially aware of the Caretaker's presence but find it comforting as they slip in and out of consciousness.

Adam clasped the tiny test tube filled with the yellowish powder. It had been a hassle to get it but it would be worth it. He mixed all of it into a tiny water flask and shook it. He would make damn sure of that…
…
„Oh absolutely not!“, Lyra said when she saw Adam approach her with a sadistic grin painted on his face and his hands behind his back.
„Funny how you act like you have a choice in the matter.“, he replies coldly.
Lyra gulps, a hard look in her eyes. „Well at least I’m not gonna let you win without sacrifices.“
Adam scoffs. „See this is exactly the problem.“ Then he suddenly lunges at her. He grapples her to the ground but struggles to restrain her completely. Then he has an idea. He sneaks his hand over her head and manages to cover her eyes and nose. Now shredded in darkness Lyra's trashing slows down a bit.
"What are you doing?", she asks nervously.
"Oh, don't break your little head about it just open up."
Lyra's mouth snapped close.
Adam sighed theatrically, strengehing his graps on her nose. "See where that get's you."
Lyra’s fought to throw him off but without sucsess. And her movements were becoming more and more frantic.
“You think you can fight me but you can’t.”
Lyra’s eyes widened as the need for oxygen got worse and worse.
“So just admit it to yourself.”
Lyra gasped and Adam instantly shoved the flask into her mouth. She coughed but in her desperate gasping for oxygen couldn’t prevent the weird tasting water from going down her throat. Adam still not letting go of her face turned her head around and kissed her. Stealing her only source of oxygen again. Eventually he let go of her and allowed her to sprawl out on the floor.
Adam laughed as she pushed herself away from him fear and disgust. He didn’t say anything only checked his watch.
Lyra breathed heavily. “What did you do to me? What was in there?”
“Just a little funny drug. I think I used way more than what I was instructed to use but ah well. I’m sure you don’t mind, right?”, he grinned.
Lyra opened her mouth but the look on Adam’s face made her close it again.
“Good girl.”, Adam commented smugly.
Lyra grit her teeth in anger and tried to stand up instinctively. But her knees buckled underneath her weight and she fell over again.
Adam walked up to her with slow, deliberate steps. “Now, now. What was that supposed to be?”
“I just wanted to give you a much needed punch in the face!”
“Hmm. No that wasn’t it. Try again.”
“What?”
“Try. Again.”
“I tried to stand up?”
“Yes. And why would you do that?
“Because you were getting on my nerves and being a bastard?!”
“Hmm. And do you see what’s wrong with that behaviour?"
“Your unbelviably fragile ego can’t handle it?”
Adam was now standing right in front of Lyra. He grabbed her jaw with a grip he was sure would bruise and tilted her head up so she would look at him.
“This. Do you see this right here? This is how the power dynamic is.”, he was speaking ever so calmly now, “Over all my little games I allowed you to play and all my generiosity it seems that you forgot who actually has the power here.”
Lyra struggles now to keep her body upright and Adam seems to notice it. Suddenly he let’s go of her jaw and her body betrays her by simply dropping to the floor. She can hear him laugh over her.
“Oh that’s just beautifully pathetic. Here let me help you.”, he adds and crouches down. He grabs her gently by the arms and turns her around so she now lays on her back, looking up at him as he stands up again.
“Now…This is much better…”, he purred.
Lyra can only move her eyes by now, everything else won’t obey her commands.
“What do you think of this change, Thyma?”
She tries to open her mouth-to talk-to give a snarky remark but her tongue felt like it had turned to lead.
“Oh right.”, Adam laughs, “You’re too weak to talk right now.”
“You wanna know what I think about this change?” He sat down again next to the lying Lyra and gently moved a few stray strands of hair out of Lyra‘s face. Seemingly deep in thought. „I think it’s quite charming. You’re so helpless like this. Vulnerable for me to do whatever I want.”, he mused and caressed a nail over the length of her arm.
Lyra would have shivered if she could have.
“But I don’t really need this to make you feel this way, do I? So…Defeated. You’re quite strong minded I will not lie about that. But…If you know where to apply pressure…” He sneaked his hand under her limp body and pressed into the curve of her spine earning him a sharp breath from his plaything. He locked eyes with her. “You crumble like a sand castle. And there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it. As much as you try you can’t eradicate them, can you? Why else would you still be so scared from the same things as four-five years ago?” Adam went back to caressing his nails over every exposed inch of Lyra’s skin. “Why else do you flinch at my touch even if you tell yourself not to? And why do none of your attempts to escape my clutches sucseed? Whatever you do…Whatever you try…You will always end up in the same position as before. At my mercy. Trembling like a deer in headlights but trying to act stoic. And you’re already breaking, can’t you tell?”
Lyra shot him an outraged look, the fear momentarily dissapearing from her eyes.
“No?” Adam chuckled softly. “Poor, sweet, dumb Lyra. Why else did you so eagerly give up names and intel when I caught you again? Only to spare yourself a bit of pain.” He gently cupped her cheek. “I didn’t even torture you that time.”
Lyra felt tears of shame fill her eyes but she mustered up every bit of energy she had to hold them back. He would not see her cry. He couldn’t also take that from her. She wished he would stop touching her, every touch seemed to burn her skin and the nails felt no different than knifes.
Adam saw how her eyes practically pleaded with him to understand that that was not how it was. And a sadistic grin tugged at the corners of his mouth. “You from a few years ago would never have done that...I mean, I expected some changes after your short vacation but…You surprised even my with that. By obeying so…easily. So you see, you understood it before, so I’m sure you can do it again. Right?” He brushed his thumb over her lips before removing his hands and standing up. “You’re lucky that I am…patient. For now. But understand that in here I am what counts. I am your government. Your religion. Your…rules. And you will obey or I will stop playing games and get serious with you. Do we understand each other?”
Lyra couldn’t speak.
“Come on, you have other ways of showing me you understood your place.”
They were both just staring at each other, holding stubborn eye contact until Lyra broke it and lowerded her gaze below Adams eyes.
"How do you- I swear, I don't know you, just let me go and I'll never bother you again. Please, I just-"
Quickly, the sharp blade placed itself down against his lips, and with a short exhale, his desperate blabbering stopped in an instant. It didn't cut, just passed on its silent threat. The cold steel turned to lay flat now, Elliot wasn't sure he was even allowed to breathe anymore.
"Don't. Worry. About. It." The man said, talking him down like a moody infant, but his anger only thinly veiled. "When I get what I want, a thing you can't help with in the slightest, I'll let you go."

“Good,” came Elijah’s tinny voice. “Find out what it is they’re auctioning and get out. Just recon, nothing else.”
Zera tamped down on the anger welling up in them at that. He was right, after all. As much as Zera might want to help if someone was in danger, there were too many people here.
There were too many villains.
Iris had found the information about the auction with one of her programs. Zera couldn’t claim to understand what she had said when she explained it. Something about the dark web, VPNs, and honeypots? What Zera did understand was that she had found the coordinates, date, and time of an auction being planned. An auction to which all of the villains who could make it to the area were invited.
What she hadn’t found was information about what was being auctioned. All the heroes knew was that it had to be something big. Something dangerous. Potentially catastrophic if left in the wrong hands.
Zera was there to find out just what it was that had drawn so much attention.
“Got it,” they replied. “Find out what’s being auctioned, stay to see who buys it if it’s safe, then get out.”
“Exactly. Comms blackout starts now.”
With that, Zera’s earpiece went dead. They felt a shiver travel up their spine at the idea of being unable to reach their team. It was necessary—there were too many technopaths in the villain world for any comms to be safe in this situation—but they still hated it. They settled into their hiding spot in the rafters, making themself comfortable for the wait.
The seats in the old theater started filling up. Zera recognized many of them. Ice Queen, Black Fox, The Piper, Livewire, Miss Eerie… these weren’t just local small-time villains. Some of these were international supervillains.
What the hell was special enough to draw them all here!?
Finally, the lights in the hall dimmed and the chatter went silent. All eyes turned to the stage.
The figure who walked out wore an expensive tailored suit. The click of their dress shoes against the stage reverberated through the hall as they walked to the spotlight. The domino mask they wore was a decorative, lacy thing that wouldn’t have been out of place at a masquerade ball.
Slipknot gestured like they were embracing the gathered crowd, and the villains in attendance applauded.
“Welcome, welcome!” Slipknot greeted their audience. Their voice was amplified and played through speakers throughout the hall, giving the disconcerting impression that they were everywhere.
The hall quieted, and Slipknot continued. “Thank you all for coming. I promised you something special, and you won’t be disappointed.”
They clicked their fingers, and a second figure emerged from off-stage. This one lacked Slipknot’s refined poise. Their suit was meant for combat, not elegance; their mask was utilitarian, not decorative.
Poppet looked as out of place as a bloodstain on a wedding dress amidst the finery of the hall.
They reached Slipknot’s side and sank to their knees beside the supervillain, head bowed. Slipknot placed a hand on the back of their neck; Poppet didn’t so much as flinch.
What. The. Hell.
“As many of you know, I have been training a protege for the last few years,” Slipknot said. “My Poppet has come on in leaps and bounds in terms of their powers. Their telekinesis can be used for both brute force and finesse. For more detail, just look at the news.”
That got a chuckle from the audience.
“I am here to auction off one month of Poppet’s service. During that time, they will be yours to command as you see fit. They must be returned at the end of the month in the same condition they are now: all limbs attached and functioning.” Slipknot grinned at that.
Zera felt like they’d swallowed a stone. Poppet was their nemesis, sure, but that didn’t mean they deserved this. Hell, Zera almost enjoyed fighting the villain! They were smart and witty, something that Zera learned when getting to banter with them between blows. And lately, those blows had been barely connecting. The villain had been going easy on them for some reason. Zera hadn’t had so much as a nosebleed from fighting Poppet in the last month. And okay, yes, some of that was that Poppet had been suspiciously absent for the past few weeks, but the point still stood!
Poppet finally showed up, only for it to be here?
Slipknot was willing to sell their own apprentice? Like they were nothing more than a weapon, an object? A guard dog to be loaned and traded?
“The bidding starts at one million dollars,” Slipknot said.
Zera needed to get out of there. They needed to get back to their team, to report on this. To let everyone know just how ruthless Slipknot was.
But…
Wouldn’t it be useful to know just who bought Poppet’s services? That way they could make plans for what that villain might do. Maybe they could even rescue capture Poppet during that time. And Elijah had said they could stick around if they deemed it safe…
Their thoughts were cut off by a sharp sting in their neck, followed by a wave of coldness seeping out from that spot. They turned their head to see Viper, a villain specializing in poisons, standing a few meters away with a… blowgun?
They reached a hand—why was that so hard to do?—to their neck. Their fingers brushed against something, and they pulled it out.
A dart. She had hit them with a dart. A dart that had to have some kind of paralytic or sedative or something, because their body wasn’t responding correctly to their commands.
Viper touched a hand to her ear before speaking. “Yeah, caught them sniffing around just like you suspected. I’ll bring them down now.”
The next thing Zera knew, they were being manhandled. Time was acting funny, too fast and too slow at once, like molasses shot from a cannon. A blink later and they were dropped to the shiny wood floor of the stage.
“And as a bonus, I’ll include custody of the hero Foxfire to whoever wins the bid on Poppet,” Slipknot said smugly.
Zera’s eyelids were too heavy to stay open. The last thing they saw before they closed their eyes was Poppet, staring at them in horror from behind their mask.
---
Zera woke up with a scream stuck in their throat. Everything ached, a bone-deep pain that seemed to throb in time with their heartbeat.
“I’m sorry,” came a small voice.
Zera managed to turn their head to see the speaker.
It was Poppet. They were no longer in their suit, but rather civilian clothing. The change in outfit revealed dark bruises ringing their wrists and decorating their arms. Zera winced in sympathy.
