Forget spending a stack of money buying nut mylk at the store containing numerous additives & stabilisers and not much “nut”, when you can make it yourself in just minutes using a jar of our organic, hand churned nut butter!
1 Jar organic Nut Butter (your choice), I used both Paleo Pure Almond and Cashew separately.
1 High speed blender. We have a commercial one but even a Nutri Bullet will be great.
1 Glass bottle to store mylk in
2-3 pitted prunes or dates or sweetener of your choice (optional)
Pour 1 litre of filtered water into the blender
Spoon in your desired amount of nut butter. *Note - most nut mylks on the market range from a creamy 10% down to a watery 3%. As a starting point, go for 60 grams, or about 3 tables spoons. Adjust to your personal taste next time.
Pop the lid on the blender and blitz for 2 mins on high.
After you have finished blitzing, your nut mylk will have a layer of fluffy foam on top. Spoon this off and discard, making pouring tricky.
Pour the mylk into your glass bottle and store in fridge.
Will last about 5 days. Give a shake before drinking.
PS If you want to get a little fancy, try adding 1 table spoon or raw cacao and 2 teaspoons of maple syrup for a heavenly, chocolatey drink!
