Ophinne's nightmares about the massacre at the Waking Sands are gruesome and often, persisting well beyond her time in Ishgard, though they usually revolve around the "what if" of Alphinaud being there, as nightmares are wont to do. It took her quite some time to confide this to anyone, eventually being forced to tell Alisaie and Lyse when they awoke her from one of these dreams during their journey in the Far East.

"Eorzea can wait a moment. You're the one who always bade me rest."

Alphinaud's place in Ophinne's life is a subject that they often brush up against but never say aloud, each of them finding it hard to speak about such things, let alone finding the time to engage in them. Sometimes the dam gets a crack and some water slips through, but it's repaired quickly and things return to "normal".

"What? What's with the look?" she teased.

Alphinaud began talking in earnest, eager to run as far away from his fluster as possible, ignoring the hand on his cheek to the best of his ability as he swerved tactlessly into another subject.

Despite having a relatively neutral expression as a default, Ophinne is very expressive, and her emotions can often outsize her. She feels strongly and deeply, but especially anger.

Just as Alisaie and Ophinne were growing closer, Alphinaud joined the Coils expedition, and Ophinne saw the twins truly interact for the first time beyond their initial meeting at the remembrance ceremonies. 'Twas as if all the confidence was sucked out of her new friend by her old friend's presence, and she found herself irritated at Alphinaud for how he treated his sister until the incident with the Crystal Braves pushed them back together.

There's something about the snow at Camp Dragonhead, even years later. She can't do it for long, but it brings back memories. Fond ones, warm ones, despite the chill. Sometimes she sits there a little too long, feeling her damp cheeks grow numb with cold.

The Twelveswood was far from kind to the young Duskwight, despite Kan-E-Senna's attempts to make Gridania a hospitable place for outsiders. Despite her good reputation with Mionne and the Wood Wailers as a reliable ally, it did little for her treatment day to day by the citizenry. When the Serpents attempted to recruit her to their cause, she was less than graceful in her "no thank you".
