I love painted covers from the Golden and Silver Ages of Comics.
I know that in his later years C.C. Beck was doing re-creations of classic Captain Marvel covers. I wonder if he ever did this one; I'd've loved to see it in his more detailed, refined style that he used for the re-creations.

I finally painted my copy of Chain of Iron! The moth featured is the Death’s Head Moth, which is the moth on the cover of CoI. The rune underneath is the rune for mourning. Hope you all like!!

I hit my stride in my final year of art college. I was going through a sketchbook in 5-6 weeks. And because I can’t work with a bare-faced sketchbook, I was compelled to find ways of making fast but beautiful cover ideas.
I quickly discovered I could throw down a template on a moleskine and explode rainbows on it to great effect!
