Il n'y a pas longtemps, j'ai découvert le terme amatopunk. Celui-ci prétend rejeter l'amatonormativité mais exclut tout de même certaines relations. Saon créateurice indique clairement refuser que des personnes l'utilise dans le cadre d'une relation incestueuse, même consentie et sans lien de supériorité/autorité, en gros même si elle est safe. Iel écarte également les paraphilies. Bref, je trouve cela problématique.
C'est pourquoi j'ai créé un nouveaux terme : Relationnalpunk !
Définition : Rejet total de l'amatonormativité. Inclus, entre autre, les relation poly, incestueuse consentie, les paraphilies non-nuisibles, les fictoatirance, l'anarchie relationnelle, les spectres ace, aro, apla... les relation libre, les façons de relationner influencées par les psycho et neuro-atypie... Et tout ce qui ne rentre pas dans le shéma de l'amatonormativité et qui ne nuit à aucun être vivant.
Grooming is a hot topic in the radqueer community, and for good reason, but what exactly it is gets lost, and I believe knowing what it is and how it works can help avoid bad situations, and to be able to know if you are getting groomed yourself.
Most definitions tend to focus on it being sexual and on a minor, but in reality its a lot more complicated than that, and I feel focusing on those things can avoid the actual harm that is being done with grooming.
Here's how I tend to define it: 'The practice of continuously wearing down a persons boundaries with the intention of getting them to be or do certain things.'
In a way, It could be considered a long coercion strategy, usually using abusive techniques to do so. The best defense against getting groomed is to have hard boundaries and to run away from anyone who tries to push them.
Yes, a lot of the time it is with the intention to get someone to do sexual favors, but someone can groom someone into anything, and it can be just as harmful.
Some red flags to look out for:
The person tends to make a big deal out of you saying no to something.
Usually in a attempt to make you feel bad for saying no and showing your boundaries. This falls under guilt tripping and general 'venting' about how you saying no effects them. It can also look like them making a big show of being 'sorry' for even asking.
2. The person makes attempts to isolate you.
This is to make it so you only rely on them for socialization and the people around you can't call out their actions as bad. This usually comes as digs at your friends or comments that they wouldn't understand, and that they are just jealous or something along those lines.
3. The person tries to show you or tell you things that you are uncomfortable with.
This can come in the form of nsfw, violence or just general uncomfortable images and words. This can be done under the guise of 'awareness' or otherwise. If you haven't explicitly said you want to be shown that, they should not, and especially after you show that you are uncomfortable.
4. Tries to make you feel like your the only one in the world that can help them.
This places a responsibly on you for their well being, usually in the form of little comments about how they can only see you helping them or that you literally saved their life. This can also show up in a more guilt tripy language like 'Please don't leave me ever, if you do i'll do-'
5. They show a pattern of being nice and then pulling away and being cold/mean, especially after you do something they don't like.
This is as a form of punishment and is done to always keeping you looking for any sign they are displeased. This also can be shown in the cycle of abuse
What to do if you feel you are being groomed?
Generally the best thing to do is too shut down the relationship and take steps to gather a strong social safety net. This of course can be easier said then done, but I myself do consent to be DMed and get asks about any concerns you have or if you worry that you are indeed in a bad relationship. Don't feel ashamed or feel like you can't ever reach out to anyone for help. Plenty of people are willing to support you and there is plenty of resources if you look for them. You are never alone.
