PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS ⇢ 1x04 | I PLUNGE TO MY DEATH
can't get over all the parallels in just the FOURTH pjo episode like obviously the "just breathe" parenting moments very blatantly bookending it, of course echidna calling the trio the "real monsters" (they're getting a little heavyhanded with this throughline imo) but also the easter-egg reworking of "pushing someone down a flight of stairs" in regards to percabeth's dynamic and the comparison of athena and poseidon's parenting/reaction to their kid in danger, thalia vs. percy, and finally the beautifully quiet yet clear annabeth = medusa and percy = poseidon parallels, all so intricately woven into a plot that was already written like i'm amazed. i'm amazed, i'm probably missing some and those are just the ones we KNOW about but we haven't even seen half the material

Okay so Changes I liked:
Pool scene with Percy’s mom (oh my GOD)
Athena’s embarrassment & sending Medusa’s head to Olympus having repercussions
The water grabbing Percy (we had to get around the Arch-water error someeeehow lol)
Percy giving even less of a fuck about the gods than in the book lmao
You’ve already done more for me than my dad…careful you almost called me a friend
Changes I did not like:
Rest in peace pink poodle you’ll always be famous to me
Echidna going up to the kids on the train that was so weird? Maybe I just didn’t like her performance that whole sequence felt unneeded & flat to me
Went to the gateway arch last summer and this was all I got

gotta say the water coming up to catch percy and pull him towards the water instead of a twelve year old just pure sending himself flying from the gateway arch is actually fantastic and the cinematography and sound of the falling process was brilliant and i’m just a little tech/crew nerd but dear god this series is killing me OFF.
Everything they do and create amazes me like a 4 year old seeing a pick n mix for the first time
