Tailorbirds sewing nests
Tailorbirds are small birds in the genus Orthotomus, mostly found in Asia. They are named for their nest-building technique of sewing leaves together with plant fiber or spider's web.
First cotton harvest of the year, from just one plant growing exclusively in food waste (no soil). The irony as we use small amounts of food waste to grow plants, while nearby 85 million pounds of food is just rotting on its way to the landfill with no hope of transforming into something useful like plant fiber.

Tending to the herbs includes the fiber herbs as well. This yucca has been around the farm for over 3 years and this year, at this time, it is amazingly more in flower and beautiful than ever before.
