Alcohol and physical activity -- How does alcohol affect your ability to recover and hinder performance? -- On the day on the right I drank some tequila but still had good sleep. I still had lower HRV with a higher resting heart rate. -- On the day on the left I had less sleep but no alcohol. My HRV was higher and my resting heart rate was much lower. -- Alcohol messes with your sleep cycles and lowers your HRV. HRV is a rating for how healthy your nervous system is which essentially controls everything conscious and subconscious. Resting heart rate is a great indicator of overall heart health as the stronger and more efficient your heart is the less it has to work. -- Drinking on days of heavy exercise or the night before and athletic event will hinder your progress dramatically. That being said if you drink be smart about it! -- Sobering up before you go to bed will also make a big difference with recovery but will not undo the effects of drinking completely. -- Elevate Fitness Community-Fitness, Nutrition, and Mental Discipline! #whoop #pnoe #hrv #alcohol #drinks #liqor #mma #fighting #exercise #martialarts #bellator #connormcgregor #ufc #fight #gym #nutriton #performance #recovery #sports #snowboarding #boardsports #extremesports #snowboardingislife #profighter #boxing #raleigh #nc #videogames #callofduty https://www.instagram.com/p/CEjmpJOnAQw/?igshid=kgtayehc8suk
