I am here! Virtually, speaking.
What is your background? (Where are you form? What are your hobbies?)
I grew up in the now extinct Elkhorn, NE. (RIP). I moved to New Orleans seven years ago to pursue a college endeavor, which at the time I didn't realize I had no intent on achieving completion. Joined a band to pursue my first passion, music. And I still play it today. I've achieved enough success there to be googleable. Pow!
What excites you about the idea of making games?
I've attempted novelization. I've attempted screenplay writing. Somewhere in me is a source of untapped creativity, which I believe can be found by releasing the control that's required for other mediums. With games, you can take an idea, no matter how simple or complex in structure, and when it comes to realization, it's still the player who determines the outcome. This makes me very happy, as both a player and a potential designer.
What kind of games do you like to play? (Analog or Digital)
When I see what games have come to, I can't help but be a digital enthusiast. Game immersion is like never before, and I can't help but fall right into those worlds.
Have you made any games before? (Analog or Digital)
I think my accomplishments in game creation, as defined by x, is determined by the equation 0<x<1
I spent a good deal of time in the Construction Set included with TES IV: Oblivion, including some level design and tampering with their preexisting AI, as well as some basic re-textures. Nothing fancy.
Which of the following do you think of yourself as? (it's okay if you can't decide, just pick the closest)
Which of the following do you want to be? (again, just pick the closest)
Programmer (I'm okay with code, but not so much with format. Text is tedium for me. I like to watch my results unfold)
What do you think of as your biggest strength?
I'm definitely willing to experiment when it comes to the creative process. In my music career and my personal artistic hobbies, I've always been able to produce impressive (by my standards, of course) results on limited resources and experience.
What do you consider your biggest weakness?
I have a tendency to either put things off, or do the opposite and get completely lost in the work I'm doing. I look forward to pushing myself somewhere towards the middle.
