QiJiu/QiQiu AU disguised as a BingFan AU.
Yue Qingyuan recognizing TLJ's features in the new disciple Xiao-Jiu is eyeing and jumping on it.
He knows his beloved wants to rile up their War God (he's resigned to their strange courting dance), but he needs to keep him safe, even if he has to bear more anger.
He grabs Luo Binghe swiftly and tells him he sees great potential in one so strong in the face of struggle. He'd been in dirty rags too, once.
Shen Qingqiu is displeased but can't exactly pull rank or anything. (Secretly he's wondering if Qi-ge's patience is running out)
Binghe gets treated well by his Shizun, who he sees as a father figure, the only one he's ever had. He sees that green beauty he'd thought would take him and notices how much Shizun's eyes bleed for him, despite how cruel he is.
Shizun is wise, Binghe thinks as he watches how Shen Qingqiu hides the softening of his eyes behind the fan whenever Shizun does something thoughtful. (Shen Qingqiu has no idea why the little beast looks between he and Qi-ge like that, and wants it to stop)
So when Ming Fan is mistreating Luo Binghe, he gets it. He's like Shizun's precious one. He knows Binghe will get stronger and be able to take the hits, so he's helping him along. How thoughtful of him. :D (Shen Qingqiu begins getting Ming Fan to do more reps to hit the beast harder, that'll stop the tail wagging)
So when his lineage is revealed, he casts himself into the Abyss. He'll get out and come back for Fan-er, just you wait. After all, Shizun speaks of sacrifice for love building trust, right? (Shen Qingqiu is spitting blood as Yue Qingyuan laments his head disciple was too wise, to see the path of this lowly shizun)
Ming Fan is just plain baffled as to how the little beast put up with him. What was with that look as he swooned back into hell, ha?! (Shen Qingqiu is similarly scandalized. What do you mean you got all those scars from being locked in a cave because you tried to rush back for me, you fool?!)
Cue Ming Fan being haunted and Shen Qingqiu being aggrieved that Qi-ge took in the son of the fucking demon that nearly killed him! How stupid can he be?!
So when Emperor Luo Binghe turns up and finds out Shizun still hasn't sealed the deal, he has to hold the sect hostage. He can't marry his cutting little battle cat before Shizun! That's disrespectful! (Shen Qingqiu eloped with Qi-ge the moment he learned the truth, but like hell is he showing his hand to the beast, especially if it means Ming Fan doesn't settle for such a man. Someone has to uphold Qing Jing's reputation for having good tastes, and Shen Qingqiu isn't remarrying.)
TL;DR: Luo Binghe gets adopted by Yue Qingyuan and learns all the wrong lessons and now it's everyone's problem.
P.S. If Airplane is present, he is desperately trying to avert the crisis. No system needed, he sees his protagonist son taking love lessons from the sect leader and is trying his damndest to steer him away from that masochistic path. (";-;)
