It’s almost self-care Sunday, and it’s almost the end of July.
Here’s how I’ll be preparing for a new month and a new week:
Getting my nails and hair done. I’ve had these braids in for way too long and it’s time for a change. My nails are growing out, so it’s time for a fill in. The nail polish on my feet is chipping away, I need a good foot scrub and fresh coat.
Cleaning up my workspace and bedroom. Nothing feels better than being in a clean and organized space. With a clear room I have a clear mind.
Body and face skin care routine. Shave and exfoliate the body. Moisturize with Shea Butter straight out the shower. Wash, exfoliate, and put a face mask on. After, apply toner, serum and moisturizer. My skin will be glowy, soft, and more even.
Declutter my electronics. Go through your emails, photos and files. Get rid of what you don’t need anymore, and organize everything into folders. This will make remote working a whole lot easier and quicker.
Do the laundry. Start the week/month with fresh clean clothes. Especially in this heat, it’s important to wash more often and make sure clothes have no sweaty smells.
Write down your schedule/important dates and goals for the week/month. Write everything down. Write to-dos, important events, meetings, and goals. Remember not to overload yourself with too much work and goals. Take your time.
Journal. Write down your thoughts, emotions, dreams and affirmations. It’s important to release on paper. Writing affirmations will help you remember your worth and how to love yourself.
Light a candle, sage your space. Get rid of any old energy lingering around. Make your space more inviting for new and positive energy.
Pray. Talk to the Universe. Meditate. Be still and be one with the Universe. I’ve been abandoning my spirituality lately, but I know the Universe has not forgotten me, so I will not forget her.
Make a healthy meal, drink water, and stretch. Take care of your body. Nourish it. After a long week of working out, your body needs to recover, so try to focus on that.
It’s okay if you miss a few of these steps and not everything has to be done to perfection. It’s all about feeling good and aligning yourself with positive energy for the new week/month. Do what makes you feel good!
