I hate how Tumblr makes pics look blurry. I know I’m too picky, but I just want them to look super sharp and the only way I know is resizing to 540px which makes zooming look awful.
Do you notice a big difference too?

Batch Resizing Images with Adobe Bridge
Our task for this mornings Post Production class was to choose a batch of images (I am using my Pantone colour images) and resize them for print and web. Below are the stages and screenshots of this process.
First choose which file images are to be resized
Then highlight which images you wish to resize
Next choose the preset button on the left
Then you have to decide are you exporting for print size or web size, in the first instance I exported as print. You can also save to / create a sub folder for the images if you so wish
Dimensions for print are 12 inches on the long edge
Or you can resize for the web, same thing applies you can create a sub folder at this stage if you wish
Dimensions for the web are 2000 pixels on the long edge
You then have to drag the images over to the preset that you have made in order to export them appropriately
Once you have exported you can go into the sub folder / location of exported image and check to see if they have exported correctly by highlighting one of the images and checking the data on the right hand side
Does anyone know of a way to stop the desktop version of Tumblr from resizing images? I usually upload hi-res images, but looking over my past posts now, they’re all about 540x500. And for some reason, some photos can be enlarged by clicking on them, while others can’t.
Mary Blair’s concept drawings for ALICE IN WONDERLAND, posted earlier today, are supposed to be hi-res—they really are very large—but you can’t even click on them! The photos from RIVER OF NO RETURN, posted yesterday: images 2 and 3 can be clicked on, but not the first one. Satan Goss: same, can’t be clicked on. What’s going on there?
The app seems to display hi-res just fine, but still, I’d like the desktop version to also show the images the way I intend them to be shown.
Also strangely annoying: when you edit posts in the desktop version of Tumblr, it rearranges the photos, and you can’t manually change this anymore. And unfortunately I have to use the desktop version now, because the app has bugs that prevent me from properly running my blog.
Any help would be appreciated...
(Also, a question to everyone: are you using the desktop version, or the app?)
