#31 Pt 1: Ripcord McQuack (Sulley)

"Give it a rest, will ya, butterball? Come on, you could use the exercise."

"I could use the exercise? Look at you! Y-y-you have your own climate."

My take on Launchpad's existing father Ripcord McQuack in the DT17 verse! His voice claim is John Goodman, so he fits PERFECTLY with Sulley!!

Duckvember - Flying Duck (Ducks)

I'm a little late, but here I have drawn two drawings related to Duckvember under the name Flying Duck (Ducks).

The first drawing is a redraw of the scene from the OG Ducktales episode Top Duck (the title is a little reminiscent of the title from the Tom Cruise movie Top Gun) where Launchpad finds himself with his family. His whole family is involved in piloting and flying airplanes. Here is Launchpad McQuack, his father Ripcord McQuack, his mother Birdie McQuack and his sister Loopey McQuack. The Top Duck episode featured an airplane flying competition pitting the McQuack family against the Beagle Boys. Of course, everyone hangs out and loves each other. Behind them is a background I drew with three planes flying in the sky.

The second drawing is of Magica de Spell flying on a broom across the night sky, along with two of her students. No, those are not her nieces, her nieces are Minima and Streghella. These are her students named Hocus and Pocus and they mostly appear in the Danish Egmont comics. They were invented by one of the writers for the Donald Duck comics, Daniel Branca, and are mostly drawn by Carlos Mota. Actually, for this drawing I took inspiration from one of the artworks by Carlos Mota. Hocus and Pocus are looking at a cell phone and Magica is struggling with them as they fly.

How do you think Drake and Gos would get along LP’s family (Ripcord, Birdie, and Loopy)?

I think so.

I don’t know much about LP’s family, but I’m pretty sure that they don’t act anything like the Muddlefoots so Drake would be absolutely fine with them.

If LP told his family about him being Darkwing Duck’s sidekick then there would be a awkward conversation of LP saying how awesome DW is while Drake tries to take all of the credit without giving away his identity.

Gosalyn would love having adopted grandparents and an aunt around. Especially since Drake’s parents aren’t around.

And I’m sure the Mcquacks would absolutely spoil Gosalyn. Taking her on trips in their planes.

Ducktales: The Flying McQuacks!

When Launchpad finds out there’s trouble back home, he brings Drake, Gosalyn, Dewey, Della and Penumbra with him to McQuack Ranch and Airfield to meet his parents, Ripcord and Birdie, and his big sister Loopey. Drake and Gosalyn are initially nervous about meeting Launchpad’s family considering their own family issues, Della is even more embarrassed than before about her dismissal of LP’s unconventional flying skills, as well as the fact that she hadn’t made the connection between a pilot named McQuack and the world famous family of stunt pilots named McQuack, Dewey’s excited to meet his best friend’s family and some fellow pilots on an adventure, and Penny’s mostly just along for the ride. Thankfully for the Mallards and Della, LP’s parents are just as friendly, accepting and forgiving as their son, as is Loopey, who actually seems kind of like an older, more self-assured, less traumatized version of Lena.

The problem they came to help deal with are raids by Don Karnage and his crew, which is how they find out that Dewey killed the guy during The Last Adventure. He’s been attacking the McQuack homestead knowing that Dewey wouldn’t hesitate to help his best friend’s family. There’s a lot of fighting, both on the ground and in the air, with the final conflict being Don Karnage’s demon plane form in a dogfight with Dewey, Gos and Darkwing in a Flying McQuack stunt plane, ending in a rather spectacular(and completely safe) Crash, marking the three as honorary(and in Drake and Gosalyn’s case hopefully-not-honorary-in-the-future)McQuacks.

All in all, a very successful low-stakes adventure...at least until they find out it was a diversion to keep them from helping with another, much higher stakes deep sea adventure.
