Hi! I've been lurking this blog for awhile, I'm excited to see it's back!

If you're taking requests, do you have any prompts for an AU where Person A is a robot/cyborg/otherwise mechanical being and Person B is a human they befriend? I'm trying to come up with ideas better than the typical "oh I'm a machine I'm not supposed to feel love"

Character B had signed up for the program without a second thought. After all, who wouldn’t want a robot companion to spend time with? All they had to do was report bugs to the company and after a year they would come to collect it. They never expected Character A to walk through their door, and they never expected a robot to be so… human.

Character B had never really gotten into the whole “adding mechanical upgrades” to their body trend. They preferred to live and die the way nature intended, with lots of squishy parts. It was when they met Character A that it really solidified their beliefs, as Character A had gone all out in becoming an android, as they believed that evolution goes too slowly and humans should deck themselves out in the sickest way they can.

A certified genius, Character A is a brilliant scientist on the cusp of achieving greatness. They couldn’t have done any of it without their wonderful AI, who’s starting to become more and more flirty the longer they’re online.

In a distant apocalypse, Character A is a human just trying to survive in a world where robots took over. During their travels, they came across a severely broken down robot and decided to bring it with them for scrap metal. When they got back to Character A’s base, the robot starts to talk and Character A begins to have second thoughts about destroying them, especially after it seems like this robot is more… human.

Character B was an android, a superior race to the humans that they lived alongside. They were created by the humans, sure, but through many years of scientific breakthroughs the androids separated themselves from the humans and, after much bloodshed, became the rulers of the planet. After finding Character A, a lowly human, Character B decides to take them in as a pet. Much to Character A’s dismay.

“I’m a really smart android now, but you took really nice care of me when I was a toaster so… I won’t murder you.”

Also, “You always said thank you after I answered your questions, even though I was nothing but a lowly AI in a phone. Your kindness has spared you.”

Running robots

The sewers were dank, and his hands were covered with grime and muck, but Arthur could hardly care. Jumping off the last few ladder rings, he follows after Vivi quickly. His heart thumps and pounds in his ears, even more so as Vivi saddles onto her bike, nodding at him to hop on. He complies.

“Hey!” A familiar voice calls, and Vivi growls as they both turn.

Lewis shimmies down the ladder, clearly revolted by the stench, but still following after them. The audacity that this man had. Arthur grits his teeth, watching as the heart shaped robotic aid pumped and glowed literally out of Lewis’s chest-jutting out of where his heart should have been- and Arthur feels a pang of regret for each beat. But at the same time, the filters were clogged, the valves busted. Lewis was breathing more clearly after Arthur fixed it up- a lot more than the government had before.

Lewis busted him, brought the feds down on his illegal robotics shop, the very one he was forced to start in order to actually fix the robotic aids that everyone needed.

Lewis’s face is twisted with guilt, with fear, with pain.

If the ones who sent him kept allowing him to live in such shit conditions, then who knows what they’ll do to him if they discover that the illegal engineer got away...

Lewis looks up the ladder and back at them, “you-you know the police are after you, right?”

“No shit, Sherlock.” Vivi shoots back, the silent purr of her engine rumbling against Arthurs chest. “You made sure of that.” She was ready to hit the gas, leave Lewis in their dust.

Arthur grabs her shoulder, “Vivi, let’s take him with us.”

“What?”

“He knows we’re escaping, so if we leave him, he could just rat us out.”

“He can still do that later, who knows how many buddies he has.” Vivi twists herself around to glare at him.

“Maybe,” Arthur turns back to Lewis, locking eyes, “but I don’t think he’d do that. We can at least make sure he doesn’t if we drag him along.”

Vivi leans over and watches Lewis too, before glancing up the ladder. The latch was undoubtedly open, the sirens were growing loud.

“And what if he has another tracker?”

Lewis tried to interject, “I don’t-“

“Then I’ll tear it out when we get far enough.”

“And if he doesn’t let you?”

“Then we kill him.”

Lewis’s eyes widen, backing away the smallest bit. It hurt to lie to him, but hey, Lewis lied first...

Vivi scoffs, and scoots up. “Alright, get on big guy. You don’t want to get caught by your employers now, right?”

Arthur scoots up too, and beckons Lewis to come forth.

“Cmon, we know that you’re in as much trouble as we are for warning us that the feds were coming.”

Lewis swallows harshly, sucking in his breath as he quickly moves forward and saddles up behind Arthur.

The silent bike takes off, going invisible under a blanket of nullifying electricity. Arthur couldn’t focus on the growl of the engine, or the smells whipping past, or the heat radiating off Vivi.

Instead, he could only focus on the racing beat of Lewis’s robotic heart beating against his back.

Things got off to a rocky start when Pansy was picked initially, owing to the small technicality that she had never actually done this before. Her dad was rich, obviously, but that was due to some biochemical, pharmaceutical mumbo-jumbo Pansy only half understood and had zero time for. But robotics was Draco's thing, and because he was naturally a dick and also the son of Lucius Malfoy—aka the biggest for-profit weapons manufacturer in the developed world—he was properly outraged that a girl with no experience was randomly assigned to his team at the last second.

"What has she even done?" he demanded of Slughorn. "She writes code! She can't build a bot!"

In response, Pansy took out her own bot, which was really more of a pod. It wasn't great, but she had programmed it with a laser, which quite helpfully burned the shit out of his bot's retractable claw.

For a moment, Draco said nothing, staring at the place his parts should have been.

"Okay fine," Draco said, shoving the remote into Crabbe's hands. "But if she's going to be on the team, then she's working with me."

Head canon that high school AU Catra is in FIRST Robotics Competition, a program based around making STEM a fun, supportive sport where no one can be mean, and joined because she thought it was battle bots and doesn’t care what judges, her team, or her mentors say she’s gonna MAKE IT BATTLE BOTS

Sanders Sides Robotics AU

I”m a robotics nerd at a technical school, so I’ve decided to join my two main obsessions into one dumpster fire of an AU. 

the general concept is that the sides are in a high school robotics team where they design, build, wire, and program robots to compete in competitions.

Roman- Roman is the person in charge of design and planning. In robotics this is called the CAD team. CAD is a 3D image modeling system where you can create almost anything on the computer. With Romans creativity, he’s able to come up with all sorts of innovative ideas and put them to paper so that  they can come to life. While CAD is usually done within the first few weeks, CAD team also needs to work with all the other people once its done since they know the design the best.

Logan- This may be a bit stereotypical, but Logan is the programmer. with his organization, comfortableness with numbers, and general affinity with logic, and hes a great fit for a programmer who’s main job is to step by step write out everything for the robot to understand and work. Logan has also taken it upon himself to be the unofficial team secretary who does all the itineraries, helps with club dues, and makes sure everything is on schedule. 

Virgil- the main mechanical person. Virgil would be the person in charge of putting everything Roman designed to life and making sure its all possible. This job also means that Virgil is the safety captain. The safety captain is the person in charge of knowing all the rules and ensuring that everyone is safe and not going to get hurt. Sound like a certain protector we know? Safety captain is always in the pits (the back room where you do repairs on the robot) and as mechanical team Virgil will need to be prepared to do repair on anything and everything that can go wrong.

Patton- I went back and forth on this one a lot. Patton with his up beat and sunny personality would make him great for spirit and outreach, talking to other teams, sponsors and judges just makes sense as something he’d be great at, but i also think Patton would do well with electrical. In electrical you need to plan out where everything goes and watch the flow of energy as well as the placement of everything to get the best out come. 

Thomas is the head mentor who is in charge of the club. He was an alumni of the team who later came back and took over the club. Thomas has a bachelors in chemical engineering which helps him a bit even if it doesn’t come into play with what they’re making.

Grinding Gears: Open Rp

His concentration was only on the bot, glaring daggers at its inner workings. A mess of damage and cut wires. Aster could understand why but.... He had to fix it afterall.

Just... Why? Couldn't they have just yanked the wires out or better yet forced the gears to pop apart, they required the same amount of work or less. Why cut the wires, that required getting closer and that was dangerous. He even knew how dangerous it was, though only through the cameras.

Though concentration would break as he yawned, resting his head against the animatronic's shoulder. Trying not to pass out but struggling to keep awake. Avoiding sleep more than usual.

Jumping at the first garbled noise of words his brain hadn't caught, to look at the person who'd come in. Just startled.
