Lionheart’s behavior and recent revelations

So, I know we're all talking about Weiss, and Jaune, and shipping and all the other fun stuff in chapter 11, but I wanna focus on Leo.

No, not that his weapon is a Duel Disk, that joke's funny but for another time. No, specifically about a line Cinder said in relation to Leo.

We've known since Volume 4 that Leo has been in contact with Salem and Watts, but we've never had a concrete timeframe for when this began. Most people have assumed that it was relatively recent because of Qrow's comment that Leo had stopped answering Ozpin's messages recently. But Cinder notes here that Leo has been in contact with Salem for years.

Qrow jumps on this and notes that Leo sits on the Mistral Council, but let's consider another plot thread that's been hanging in the air. Namely, how did Cinder know where to find Amber when going to steal the powers of Fall? Leo might have even organised Amber being on the move and facilitated the ambush- we don't know why Amber was alone that night. Given how Qrow and Amber may have been close (I'm not saying Applecider/Scareqrow was canon but they could have been close friends), if he realizes this he might be angry enough to try and kill Leo, especially after the revelation that Leo was behind the deaths of his Huntsmen friends. Since Cinder getting the Maiden powers is the root cause of much of the misery that has ensued since, if you wanna reach, you can claim Leo is responsible for Cinder's plans coming to fruition in Beacon.

But that alone isn't why I doubt Leo will live to see Volume 6. It doesn't seem to be a thing the FNDM has picked up on because we're all talking about Weiss jobbing to Vernal or Jaune's man-pain (said with the driest /s behind it that you can imagine because... I'm getting off topic but it ain't man pain), but look at the Leo and Oscar fight. Leo shot at Oscar and seemed shocked when Oscar's Aura deflected the blow. He opened fire on Oscar with intent to kill.

And before anyone says "He was trying to kill Ozpin!" This was before Leo realized Oz was Os. He was aiming to kill a child before then.

Alongside this, what most fans suspected would happen (Leo leading Ozcar to his office and showing Salem Oscar on the Seer Grimm) now is redundant because (as seen in the Chapter 12 preview) Hazel is now aware of Ozcar. Put bluntly, Leo serves little purpose in the plot now.

tldr for this haphazard post: Leo might have been behind Amber's location being leaked to Cinder, and this combined with his willingness to kill Oscar makes me sure he'll be dead come the end of the season.
