@ainurweek Day Three: Salmar
He's a weird one. I went with a more Elven looking design since he was originally conceived of as Vala. Design notes: No thoughts, ocean.

Maiar Comic Headshots
Do we like this version with the Istari having beards?
Or this one? Without beards...
Also... yes... I know I included Langon and his status is debatable... and Gothmog because balrogs are fallen Maiar.
Salmar
Hey all, it’s Day 3 of Ainur Week! Today we’re celebrating Ulmo, Ossë, Uinen, and Salmar, the Ainur of water. The general prompts are serenity, home, and the Ainur’s relationship with Elves.
What’s your favorite connection between an Ainu and an Elf? I love how attached Ulmo is to the Elves; the sea is always calling them home. 🥹 I also have to shout out Thingol and Melian for magically falling in love in the forest, which their daughter Lúthien also went on to do. Here’s to a woodland romance.

@ainurweek Day 3
These are the arts with Salmar and The Underwater Gang I drew last summer. I wanted him to be associated with sea foam and sandy shores of oceans
My submission for this year's @tolkienrsb features Ulmo, Lord of the Waters, Dweller of the Deep and Salmar, who entered Arda with Ulmo and maker of the Ulumúri, Ulmo's great horns which produce the music of the sea.
The Silmarillion says Ulmo was alone and feared, but that the music of the Ulumúri that Salmar made for him was loved. What if he wasn't alone in the deeps? And what if Salmar made the horns so that others would have a way to experience Ulmo without fear and love him as Salmar did?
The art was claimed by @naryaflame, so look forward to that and all of the other fics dropping soon!
EDIT: The fic is here!
