I need to come out of my hole because I realized quite some developments regarding the GERWNT that are pieces of a very worrisome puzzle when you look at it. And while I can only make assumptions these pieces should be looked at carefully.

When I looked at the line-up and bench yesterday I noticed how many heterosexual players were in the starting 11. And then I realized that most of the players that were kicked out (retired because not getting called up anymore) are gay. Same for players that weren't called up despite being clearly better or at least as good as those called up.

To make this clear: sexual identity/orientation doesn't matter at all for how I think about a person or their performance on the pitch. I have never focussed on this aspect here and I don't want to talk about the private life of players unless they share it with the public. So I am only referring to those who were/are open about it.

Look at names who weren't called up anymore. Or left on call for the Euros. I won't name names now but you can do the math. And what I am saying here is not that line-ups can't change and of course there shouldn't be any quota or anything. That would be ridiculous. But I do notice a shift to called-up players being rather white, heterosexual and...next finding...having a strong connection with god. Jesus!

@batsarentbugs came across this because of Giovanna Hoffmann's recent IG post where she's very dedicated to god. I don't care about other people's business as long as it's private and they don't preach and want to convert people. Or support political decisions that disrespect free choice and free will of other people. That's where it's no longer about private belief. But about oppression.

This being said in general, I can of course not judge Hoffmann's behaviour but I can see her messages on her IG and her words in some videos. Also, she's cooperating with an account called "fussballmitvision" (football with a vision) that seems to support rather Evangelical positions.

They are also cooperating with Sarai Linder and the former German international Melanie Behringer . Behringer is the German U19 coach now...

So, you may say this isn't that problematic...? Look whom they are also featuring...: Korbin Albert:

And please look at how Wück tried to bully AKB who is not exactly feminine and openly gay. How Hoffmann was now preferred over Schüller. Linder over Rauch and Simon. Of course, in a very unlikely case these can all be coincidences. But don't look away, be aware and alert what is going on here.

It's a worrisome path and we have to acknowledge that sports doesn't exist in a vacuum. The drastic shift to the right in many societies does have its effect. And sport has always been a target. And a tool.
