Attraction
Humans are weird. You don’t need me to tell you that. They’re stuck in one fixed form, their bodies get sick and age against their will, and physical damage disrupts them so much they stop existing. They’re made of meat. But the weirdest part is this ‘love’ thing they always talk about. I’ve read about it in books – I’ve read about it in lots of books – but I still don’t get it. How does it happen? What does it feel like? What does it feel like to be on the receiving end? Could a lump of meat ever love a blob of goo that can turn into anything?
It was my friend’s idea. She doesn’t see why I find this so interesting, but she’s always one to come up with a plan: try it. Find a human I like, take on a form and persona I think they might like, and see what happens. Repeat.
So I did. But there are rules for this kind of thing, and the most important is: never go back to the same human twice.
You can see where this is going.
See, I got hooked. It was pure luck that I found her. She was a world. She was many worlds. Her eyes lit up with the stories she told. She learned to shapeshift in her dreams, because the real world didn’t give her that option. I wished I could join her there, see what she saw. She was a shifter at heart – fluid as the ocean, wild as the wind – even more than I was. And the beauty and the tragedy of it, that she was born in flesh, but dared to dream anyway – how could I stay away?
Oh, I followed all the other rules. I followed them to a tee. I even tried other humans, at least to start with. But they weren’t her. So I went back, again and again, as the extroverted girl, as the quiet boy, as the older woman who’d seen the world, even as a stray cat living in her neighbourhood. And every time, when things started to happen, I did what I was supposed to do: I left, quietly and gently, before we got so close that leaving would hurt her. It’s not you, it’s me. If only she knew.
But rules are there for a reason. She started to think there was something wrong with her – why, whenever she got close to someone, did they always leave? What was I to do? Going back would hurt her more. Staying away was tearing me apart.
So I broke the biggest rule of all. I told her everything. I showed her what I was. Humans don’t like shifters – we learn that early on. But she laughed and cried and hugged me, and said she should have known, somehow – how had she not seen it, she said. It didn’t matter to her that I was goo, not meat. She chose me.
And me? I’m… comfortable. Is that love? It doesn’t sound like love as the humans describe it: the romance, the butterflies (butterflies?) – most of that is still a mystery to me. But I won’t be leaving her again.
Still, every time I change form, every time I turn fluid, she watches and smiles. She wishes she could join me. Is that possible? Can a human become a shifter? She gave me the gift of acceptance – could I give this gift to her? No one I ask knows. But the legends say it’s true. And the humans have a saying: that love conquers all. If anyone can find a way, we will. And through good or bad, rain or shine, we’ll do it together.

Introduction
Hello Writeblr! After much consideration and building of courage I realize that I technically am an Indie Writer and should be more on Writeblr. So here is me renewing my Pinned Post to make it a Writeblr introduction! I am Lesbunnian, known as Bun or Ulmaria, or even more names personally (Any/All pronouns). A dimensional space where all of my stories take place big or small. And I post the rough drafts of my works on Wattpad and Fictionpress. Before editing them myself and graphically designing them to become special Editions that I sell on Gumroad!
I mostly write fantasy and maybe sci-fi with a lot of representation and I tend to dip into darker topics. So I often have trigger warning before my stories for everyone's comfort. As a Black Genderfluid Pansexual myself I prioritize a diverse cast with diverse personalities and
My storytelling Carrd holds all of the info regarding Meadow of a Rabbit. and my lesbunnian carrd is more for commissioning artwork from me! Meadow of a Rabbit Carrd

Using Social Media to your Creative Advantage
Aahhhh, the internet. A vast hole of information and knowledge, full of memes and inspiration, and also a writers greatest time suck. You check your social media before you start your writing session, scroll along for hours and hours and hours...and suddenly all of the time that you set aside for writing is gone! This can be extremely frustrating. So how can you use that annoying black hole to your advantage, and maybe feel less guilty about an hour of scrolling?
1) Create boards/save posts that inspire you or make you think of your WIP. If you organize boards for different projects (like on Pinterest), you have a place to go whenever you feel like you need something to get your creative gears turning! Actively seek out the kind of things that make you want to work on your projects.
2) Follow writing themed accounts. Writing advice, prompts, and memes can all help you learn, laugh, and get your head in the right space!
3) Join writing groups/find the writing community. This one goes hand in hand with number 2, but track down the community around what you’re interested in! Sci-fi writing, fantasy writing, fan fiction writing? All those types of writers are on social media! You just gotta find them. When you do, DM them and make friends! Join writers group chats! Surround yourself with people who have the same goal as you!
4) Post about your writing goals. When you can see your goal right there in front of you, you’ll be reminded of it whenever you see it! Plus, when you share your goals with your friends and other writers, they’ll support you and help hold you accountable.
5) Set a time limit for yourself. Most phones have the ability to lock apps after you spend a certain amount of time on them. Set your social medias to lock after a certain amount of time, or during the period of time that you set aside to write.
6) Share some of your own work. This can be very scary to do, but when you share you work online you can get positive feedback and constructive criticism from other creators.

Writeblr Intro || Souliloquyyy
(I’ve been on writeblr for several years now, but I like to update and repost my intro every once in a while so new followers can still get to know me.)
My name’s Jay, but I also go by Soul. I’m 18, I currently use she/they pronouns, and I’m biromantic/asexual.
⮞ I write novels for the most part, but I dabble in short stories and poetry from time to time. My main genres are fantasy and sci-fi, but I write just about everything.
⮞ Music is a big part of my writing process, so I do talk about music a fair bit. My favorite bands/musicians are Twenty One Pilots, STARSET, Marianas Trench, Fall Out Boy, and All Time Low. I’m always looking for new music, so feel free to DM me song recommendations anytime!
⮞ I’m not a fandom blog, but I will occasionally post about the shows I’m watching. Right now, that would be Supernatural, The 100, Criminal Minds, and Death Note.
⮞ My favorite novels are Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys, The Raven Cycle by Maggie Steifvater, The Illuminae Files by Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman, Turtles All the Way Down by John Green, and The Female of the Species by Mandy McGinnis.
⮞ I’m currently finishing up my senior year of high school. I don’t have college plans yet, so I’m taking a gap year to figure it out (and to focus on my writing). I’m currently considering a degree in either biology or English, or possibly criminology. However, I may end up not going to college at all.
⮞ My URL is a combination of the words soul (the principle of life, feeling, thought, and action in humans) and soliloquy (the act of speaking one’s thoughts aloud when by oneself or regardless of any hearers). I often feel as if my writing, as well as my blog, are soliloquies of my soul; my thoughts and feelings poured out onto the page regardless of whether anyone’s listening or not.
⮞ My blog title comes from the song Isle of Flightless Birds by Twenty One Pilots. The song is a metaphor about people wasting their potential in life, which I often feel like I’m doing.

My muse strikes again
So last week I finally started to write the Sci-fi story that I wanted. It is turning hard sci-fi and I hope that I can carry it through. The building existential dread at the vastness of space is a nice background emotion for the whole piece.
And despite thinking I was only going to submit 4 stories for the Beyond anthology, I just submitted a 5th. I won’t be submitting to their next one though as the theme is crime with no supernatural elements at all. But that is good as it gives me a chance to finish the Sci-fi one, which only has a 2 weeks left and part of that I am at a wedding.
