Whumper throwing a bottle at the wall and it shattering near Whumpees head

"I'm glad I have you. None of my drinking buddies want to hang out with me anymore."

Whumper forcing Whumpee to drink with them so they'll feel less alone and worthless.

Whumper making Whumpee take shot after shot until they get sick

Alternatively, Whumper manipulating Whumpee into drinking with by playing into the trauma of being Whumped (you've been through so much. You deserve something to take the edge off.)

Whumper telling Whumpee "I like you a lot better when I'm drunk"/"You know, when I'm this drunk, you almost look cute."

Whumpers own trauma getting triggered while drinking, being too wasted to recognize where they are and who they are with, and starts screaming at Whumpee as if Whumpee is their abuser

Whumper sobbing about how lonely they've been while they strip Whumpee, not noticing they are also in tears

The taste of cheap vodka and stale cigarettes in Whumpee's mouth as Whumper sticks their tongue down their throat.

Whumper who loses days on end due to their binge drinking. Whumper never remembering the nights they took advantage of Whumpee. How can you apologize for something you don't remember anyway?

Alternatively, Whumper who does apologize for noncon but claims the booze made them lose control (it will not stop them from drinking)

Whumper drunkenly inviting Whumpee to stay in their room for the night as an apology. Whumpee choosing to sleep on the floor

Whumper relapsing and taking out the rage and shame they feel on Whumpee

Whumpee who cant even stand the sight or smell of booze without being triggered

Alternatively, Whumpee developing their own drinking problem after getting away from Whumper

What type of caretaking is Eldwin most responsive too? ( Eg Acts of care, physical affection, does he like being babied or does he prefer the tough love don't coddle me approach etc)

On the other hand, what's something a caretaker could do that would immediately put him off or upset him?

It's gotta be the tough love approach with him. Partially because he will be an absolute bitch, he will purposefully act up and push them around, see exactly what he can get away with, what power he holds, what it takes to push them to show their "true colours." So he needs someone gentle sure, who respects his boundaries, but who also won't take his shit, and will tell him as it is.

Which is another note, if anyone dared try to lie to "protect him" (because the truth is hard, or try and say "it's not that bad" when. it is) he will be annoyed. Yeah, don't coddle him, he would hate that. He's also a giver of the tough-love approach himself (sometimes. he's really mean. But even when he means well, he's not gonna baby anyone, ever) so he is most receptive to that. It's a fine line to walk, between being gentle enough but also firm, but when it's pulled off it's the best approach for him.

As to what would put him off, well babying him for one. He's an adult, who has endured things no one should. He would loathe any infantilization - which considering Aenora's poor handling of mental health, is potentially a problem he might face.

In that same vein, the complete dismissal of the wrong he's done. He's not innocent. He tortured and killed people for a job! He would really hate people to forget that. It's trying to balance making him realise that he didn't deserve all these awful things happening to him, whilst recognising that he has done wrong. Trying to tell him he hasn't done anything wrong would immediately put him off, and even feeds into the infantilization ideas above.

And of course, any deliberate disrespect of his boundaries. Maybe there's times when it's necessary, and though he'd be upset in the moment he later would realise, but anything that wasn't strictly necessary in like, a life or death situation yeah no, it's gonna be hard coming back from that. He will hold grudges.

They screw up their nose in derision, but it gives way to dejectedness soon enough. They slump against a wall, the chain attached to the collar going slack as they do. "I dunno. Probably worried. Or - not worried. Like, annoyed. I bet she'd be annoyed at me." They stare into space, and their arms come up to hug themselves. "Fuck. Do I think she'd say I deserve it? Maybe. Maybe not - not all of it. Hopefully not all of it." They whisper the last part, then sigh deeply, and bury their face in their hands. "I don't fucking know. Sorry." Their voice is starting to wobble. "She'd probably say it's my fucking mess to deal with. Alone. She... doesn't want to see me. I don't want to see her. It wouldn't help."

Griffith always kinda sucked tbh

(which is not to say you can't enjoy or like him as a fictional character, I certainly do, but for me the horror of the eclipse lies in the fact that there were always signs he was a power tripping freak who was capable of doing something like that but that his friends, followers and the readers were blindsided by his more admirable and likable qualities + insisting he was manipulated by the Godhand or that "Griffith died to become Femto" misses the point). Griffith was not always a monster but he's always been a bad person.
