I realize what is being lost. Everyday sharks like these are needlessly slaughtered in countries all around the world. Most are killed for the demand for shark fin soup, as bycatch to supply seafood for most stores and restaurants, some are targeted just for sport by those who do not understand their value and just think of them as monsters. Sharks are not monsters, they are important predators who are being killed in barbaric ways. How can we stop this cruel, wasteful, and environmentally devastating slaughter? How can we get more people to care, to realize what they are really losing? Through out my life I’ve seen much death and beauty, I’ve traveled the world and seen social and political systems that don’t work leading to environmental devastation, however its supply and demand. I have found when people care, when they feel some kind of connection and compassion then they don’t want the killing to continue. While I wish I could take everyone in the world diving with sharks to see and experience the unique beauty of sharks so they would have a connection, care, and realize the truth I know that is not possible but I hope we can bridge the gap through the sharing of information and experiences. I think the key to their survival is education and inspiring compassion. Please demand the killing of sharks stop by educating others around you and supporting legislation that bans the killing, sale, possession, and trade of shark products. Every action can make a difference, please speak up for those without a voice and #HelpSaveSharks #SaveTheOcean #MotherOfSharks #Love #compassion #Care #SaveALife #Inspire #Shark #Sharks #savesharks #fishing #sharkfishing #sharkfin #sharkfinsoup #Ocean #Seafood #Lifestyle #Fish #Sharkfinning #spainsharks #touchingsharks #kindhumans #kindness #chinasharks PHOTO BY @JuanSharks who will post more about this later. #Spain is the 2nd largest exporter of shark fins in the world.
