I have started doing what I’m calling “The Chris Evans Workout” which is where I work out a little bit every time I see Chris Evans on my dash and let me tell you: I’m gonna fucking die but I’m gonna have huge goddamned muscles when I do so, apparently.

Intervals on the treadmill. 6.3mph “jog” speed, 7.8mph+ “run” speed. That is to say, 7.8 for the first, 7.9 for the second, 8.0 for the third, and 8.2 for the last. Anyone who’s been upset about me counting extra mileage due to GPS glitches will be glad to know that the last couple of weeks on the treadmill my Garmin has tracked at least .1 mile per mile (at least for the runs with some speed) less than the treadmill reports - pretty consistently.
Good stretch in the hot tub afterwards. It was a little crowded so I had to be mindful I wasn’t taking up too much room and/or infringing on anyone’s personal space. I had recently started using the handrail to pull myself into a split* against the side. Someone was over there so I had to just do the splits against the side and do my best.
Lifted after dinner and the kids went down.
Later on as I was reviewing my food log, loseit.com had a much nicer message for me than yesterday.

I also did some more taekwondo solo practice. Multiple kicks without putting down my foot - front kick, side kick, reverse side kick, reverse hook kick, roundhouse. Combinations, too. Then some forms work - chunji, taegeuk 1 and 2, self defense. Fortunately all the self defense forms are fresh in my memory since we did some great review sessions the last few classes.
* This is a stretch specifically for taekwondo. Otherwise I don’t have much of an interest in gaining this particular flexibility.
