had an idea for a very angst ridden psych fic, hang on...

Psych's latest case seemed straight out of a comic book, or at least a tacky sci-fi sitcom. Whatever had happened to the victim had resulted in only memories including one specific person getting wiped.

This would all be really exciting if it weren't for two small details:

1. The victim was Gus.

2. The specific person, the one who was forgotten? That was Shawn.

#so devastating #can't decide on a season range either #or a title #psych #shawn spencer #burton guster #if it were reversed i feel like gus would be too focused on the case to get worried #not like that. i mean guiding shawn through the case #and shawn's easy going demeanor could result in him going with the flow as his explains his own life to him #meanwhile gus has a “complete” life without shawn #and the last however many years are out the window #but i also think it would show how much shawn relies on gus and needs him #gus knows shawn does most of the work #but even if gus doesn't do quite as much of the casework. gus is shawn's rock and he needs him as a friend

i absolutely LOVE characters who do bad things in order to survive & get hated for it (in canon and the fandom)
