Is it just me or are other people okay with never truly seeing a confirmation of Spock and Kirk. I’m okay with the subplot we have going. The under-the-table dialog, the subtle glaces are that are so gentle and caring that we don’t need to see anything else to know they love each other. We don’t need a kiss. We don’t need a confession. Because we know they love each other. And we know that they know they love each other, at least in one way or another. I’m content with that. That’s enough.
I"ve been watching Star Trek: The Animated Series with some online friends. "Animated" is a very generous interpretation for what is a borderline radio play with slides — the budget was so low that whenever they want to show people running, they're either shown from the knees down or in full silhouette.
But on the plus side, they got back the entire TOS crew to voice the characters, aside from Walter Koenig, who did go on to write an episode of the series. His place on the bridge is taken up by a 3-armed alien, Lieutenant Arex, voiced by James Doohan (Scotty) doing a Silly Voice. Sadly unsurprisingly, they weren't going to hire Nichelle Nichols and George Takei back to voice Uhura and Sulu, but Leonard Nimoy said that he wouldn't come back either if they didn't hire them, and the network relented.
In one of the episodes we watched today, "The Time Trap," the Enterprise crew winds up in a time bubble, and Spock comes up with an Ingenious Formula to get them out. This is the formula:
Looks legit.
