STAR VAMPIRE
by Christopher Burdett
Some dumb artist choosing to work late nights instead of sleeping angers their giant paralysis demon wife. Smh
If I'm doing a Hazbin Hotel x DanDaDan crossover series, then I would of course had to include aliens and what better aliens for the Hellaverse than the ones from the Lovecraftian mythos? My goal was to draw my selection in the Hellaverse art style. How successful I was at that, I'll let you all decide. Anyway, here's a quick rundown of the cosmic horrors I picked.
The top row is from left-to-right are Cthulhu, Nyarlothotep, and Hastur the King in Yellow. I imagine Cthulhu and Hastur being like the Ars Goetia in ranking while Nyarlothotep ranking above them like the seven princes of Hell. My take on Cthulhu is inspired by Bowser and King K. Rool while Hastur I imagine being like the overlord Zestial.
Right below alien races that are subservient to Cthulhu, Nyarlothotep, and Hastur respectively; The Cthulhi, the Mi-Go, and the Byakhee. The Cthulhi are to Cthulhu like the Koopas are to Bowser and I gave the one I drew a pose referencing the Serpo, one of the main aliens in DanDaDan. I imagine these aliens being the primary forces the protagonists of this crossover would have to deal with.
The bottom row are miscellaneous aliens that are not directly aligned with any Great Old Ones or Outer Gods. The first is a flying Polyp, a wandering species with unknown motives that acts aggressively to virtually anything they encounter. Next is a star vampire. These vicious, jellyfish-like predators have powerful constricting tentacles that end in toothed suckers for draining blood and from their toothy maw they emit a continuous, horrifying laughter. Lastly is a Yaddithian, a highly advanced species skilled the arts of science and magic. They were driven to near extinction by another race called the Dholes and the one shown here is a survivor that becomes and ally to the protagonists who helps them gain better control of their supernatural abilities.
Though this was intended to be the final part I might create one more that features at least You-Sothoth, Shut-Niggurath, and the Dholes.
Lovecraftian mythos belongs to H.P. Lovecraft (duh), Hazbin Hotel belongs to Vivziepop, and DanDaDan belongs to Yukinobu Tatsu
As always, comments and critiques are welcome.
The Shambler from the Stars or here's my take on the star vampire's gijinka–
Them from Outside want in. Inside our universe of light and matter, so different from the formless chaos that roils around the universal font of Azathoth. Out there, they’re little more than plankton. Mere mouthfuls for larval Outer Gods.
But inside our universe, amongst the pitiful things that populate it, they’re the gods.
Their primary means of coming in is in the creation of the Outer Hybrids. They send whispers and instructions along the paths that they cannot tread alone, offering knowledge and power in exchange for aid. Success is rare but for those who exist outside of time, patience is supreme.
A German sorceror dies. Maybe. Hijinks ensue.
A star vampire, a terrible leech that dwells in the gaps between stars.
Star Vampires are extraterrestrial creatures from the Cthulhu Mythos. First appearing in Robert Bloch's short story The Shambler from the Stars, they are described as tentacled, jellyfish-like creatures that are usually transparent and invisible.
Befitting their name, Star Vampires are voracious bloodsuckers, and will flush red and thus become visible when they have drained a living victim. The Star Vampire's tentacles have suckers with which it sucks blood. They are said to emit a horrid sound akin to manic laughter.
