My shoulder is on the mend!
Trying to fix an upper rib dislocation while mid-conversation without the other person noticing is a feat of mild acrobatics
Oh i am in for a MORNING tomorrow. I've been flaring for the past few days with my hips and foot, but my right shoulder definitely just subluxed like, several times. My muscle is all loose and soft now too. I felt my shoulder collar move. I'm high rn and with lidocaine and not moving it's not super painful but in the morning i KNOW it's gonna suck
Worst part about (most likely) having Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome? Subluxations that don’t correct for days. I (evidently) suffered from a hip subluxation on Saturday & it didn’t correct until this morning. 2 days of pain that I tried correcting, but couldn’t because I guess things just weren’t relaxed enough yet. Oh, no. It didn’t pop into place again until I had to shimmy and shake my out of bed around my dogs. *sighs* At least it wasn’t a total dislocation.
can you sublux your whole, like, sternum?
what did i do
idk why it took me this long to realize this
but i had this aversion to monkey bars as a kid
and people would always tease me about me "being afraid of heights" when i knew i wasn't
the other day i realized this aversion was probably because my shoulders fucking sublux all the time
just wanted to share in case any other hypermobile baddies had this experience
Back in the ER cuz I pinched a nerve subluxing my shoulder
okay so-
I actually need any and every kind of advice w this-
so- my shoulder is still screwed after a dislocation (or maybe just really bad subluxation, hell if i know) from two days ago (i in fact got it back in place but now i’m not sure if it’s even fully aligned, nothing visible tho and luckily it’s not swollen as much as i can tell) and I need to go to a dance rehearsal tomorrow at which I’ll need to do a contemporary routine that has lots of floor work and generally quite large movement- and also a musical routine. Issue is, atm if I do absolutely anything it keeps clicking and hurts a lot, i can’t sleep cause every position feels unstable+ hurts a sh!t ton and sometimes it feels like it’s slipping out of place so much so that my arm starts like going “numb” and i can feel my ligaments trying to pull it into normal position. I cannot skip this, I also can’t go to the doctor as there’s only er’s open during weekends and my mother does not gaf and i do not have the strength to go and sit alone for 5 hours at a hospital only to likely get dismissed and gaslit by staff. i have no idea how to deal with it or at least stabilize it enough not to d!e at the rehearsal… I can’t skip it as it’s the one our founder’s gonna watch to decide if we all can perform and the performance is in 14 days.
i actually don’t even know what kind of advice there is for this as i can’t skip it and it isn’t like pain killers are a solution lol but if anyone has any idea how i could make it at least stable enough not to jump out of place the moment i dance i’d appreciate it a lot ;-;
ofc I’m not looking for actual medical advice or anything just hoping someone has experience w having to do sports so soon after something like this and not having the choice not to… yes i an desparate atp lol
