It's her day!
There’s something in this that reminds me of Suessian buildings, I feel like a sneetch could live here (beachfront property is expensive)
Feine Marroni Gonfi, die nicht nur als Konfitüre gebraucht werden kann, sondern auch als Dessert, als Creme oder Topping.
AT THE BEST PRODUCTION OF SUESSICAL EVER FIGHT ME
iva already seen this once but it was so good i NEEDED to go again.
PLEASE GO if you can (it's at the hale center theater in orem, utah!!!)
There’s some minor drama going on behind the scenes at my local community theater, so I want want to know what the people of tumblr, a relatively diverse and liberal leaning community, think about the matter.
In Suessical the Musical, for a community theater production, does the Sour Kangaroo need to be played by a black woman?
Yes, she does
Yes, unless none auditioned
No, but it should t be a white person
No, it doesn’t matter
For an adult production, yes, but for a children’s production it doesn’t matter
I’m not qualified to answer / show results
I’m very open to people giving more descriptive answers in the notes if they have them as well or critiquing my phrasing or the way I’m going about asking this or anything else like that. Please reblog for more reach.

New Seussical Headcanon/Story- A jealous Feline
Hey Guys! Back from the dead briefly to bring you a little (long) thing I wrote on seuss discord (p.s join the seuss discord we’ve been having so much fun recently https://discord.gg/uMbu44Edwv ) that some of my friends on there liked a lot so i figured i’d post it here and Instagram as well. I hope you guys enjoy and please let me know what you guys think if you have any thoughts on it in the comments . Thanks so much for reading and hopefully ill start posting more soon or eventually alrightty then so basically I went through the show one day for analysis stuff to put on this blog and had started to notice something interesting. For the beginning of the show, all is relatively tame, the cat sets up a story that is bound to cause chaos and craziness to ensue, but nothing too bad happens say for the jungle creatures harassing horton. The cat, being the chaotic god he is, decides to jump in on the action and disguises himself as a reporter to help with said harassment. the rest continues on as normal as it can get, but its only when we get to alone in the universe that things start to change. We see Jojo becoming friends with Horton and finally realizing that there are more thinkers like him and hes not "aLoNe In ThE uNiVeRsE". I imagine that during this, the cat was watching this from nearby in disapointment as he believed that he was the one helping jojo out, he was the one teaching him to be a thinker, being the one at his side, being there for him, his mentor, his cat, HIS ONE TRUE FRIEND IN THE UNIVERSE. He was going to tell this story with Jojo and help jojo to learn the lessons that would make him a better and more practical thinker. jojo was supposed to watch hortons story unfold and take notes, not become a part of it. Seeing with him with horton absolutely crushes him and completely throws his plans on his head. He starts to become jealous and in this decides to make things extremely difficult for both of them, making it hard for horton so jojo cant interfere and eventually becomes too much for him to handle that he gives up on him entirely, and jojo becoming so anxious about his thinks that he would HAVE to rely on the cat again and go to him instead of hort. This goes further as the cat then gets the idea to have the clover get lost in the field, a place where it would take hort forever to find, and distract him long enough to spend time with jojo, which thanks to the crash he created as vlad vladikoff (there are some versions of seuss where the actor playing the cat is also the bird that drops the clover which is perfect for this headcanon) has now made jojo occupied with the events of the crash and having to deal with them while dealing with the war at the same time, needing some assistance since hes away from home and his family, *a guide*. The cat decides to take it a step further and make it so horton would NEVER see the clover again and help mayzie in convincing him to watch the egg so he would stop looking for a bit. As we know this results in him watching the egg much longer than anticipated, but i like to think that mayzie was gonna fulfill her promise, but the cat convinced her as Jose/renee the bartender through means of romantics to stay longer. *Break to breathe* So we're in act two now, and horton is captured and taken overseas to be sold by the cat to the circus, which you can guess who its run by. After all this, from putting jojo in the military as payback, to making horton suffer, to even doing the same to gertrude, he is ready to finally win and return everything back to the way it was, that is until we get to *it*. During Solla Sollew, he watches as all the characters sing about wanting to go to the place where breezes are warm, and people are kind, something like heaven. this makes him briefly think for a second if he made the right decision and if it's truly worth it. he brushes it off and tells himself that it is and that it's ridiculous, even for him, to think otherwise. As the cat is getting to the point where he finally sees his plan be fulfilled, the unthinkable happens, jojo refuses continuing this any longer and runs home, only to step on a mine bomb and be literally blown away to his death. The cat panics and becomes very upset seeing his creator die and in that moment uses one of his most powerful tricks to reverse time to the moment before the step and sends jojo to a realm where he would be safe and nothing could hurt him, that is he thinks, its just him and his thinks in a black abyss. The cat sighs and is happy to see him ok, but then sees something potentially even worse. He sees he creator break down and call out for Horton, probably doing so crying through his tears and emotions in the process "Horton where are you? and what should I do? im lost and im frightened and dont have a clue. You said you'd be there if i needed you to. Im thinking of you" At that moment, the cat realizes it nd what he has done. no matter how much he tries, jojo will always want horton and perhaps more than just someone there to guide him and fill his head with thinks. he needs a true friend and he knows it's not him. But at the same time that doesn't mean that he still can't be in his life. Think of it as a parent seeing their grown up child going away with their new partner and relationship. Its only by accepting youre emotions as well as the fact that things are going to change and not go your way and finding the balance in that that you truly find satisfaction and peace. Jojo will need them both for different reasons and there was never a real reason to make him decide between them. It will be much worse for him if he loses one or both. The cat knows what they have to do in that moment and as one of a few last efforts, creates one final new disguise, giving jojo what he needs. As jojo continues crying a voice calls out from behind him, one oh so familiar to him
“Hello? Hello?!”
Jojo turns around and sees him. his long lost friend. standing there in his grey outline, standing there with his arms out open. Jojo rushes to figure and lands in his arm. He notices somethinh however, the figures eyes are red and his body has a blackish and redish and whitish taint. At that moment he realizes the illusion "are you real or are you just a very large think?!" the figure sighs but gives him an answer "oh im a very large think. I would state that in ink." Jojo is surprised and a bit taken back by his response to admitting the truth, but decides to keep going along out of curiousity. "I wanna go home Horton, what should I do? I wanna go home more than I ever knew" the figure speaks and tells him all that he should've told him before in the first place "If you could see what I see in you. I see a thinker jojo, tried and true (we get an inside shot of the figure and see the cat speaking) and I dont often meet real thinkers like you. Why, you're full of great thinks! you stood up against war! Someday you'll know what you're thinking is for" Jojo begins to smile, maybe even happy tears but before he can respond the figure replys one last time "now if you wanna go home thats easy to do, just follow your hunches! They'll lead you home to Who" And at that the figure disapears and is replaced by life sized black blobs with white eyes and light that begin swarming jojo. He thinks at first that this is another game/trick from a familiar feline, as the creatures surround him and bein jumping up and down, teasing and taunting him, only saying the words "hunch". The cat reappears and offers jojo his hand in assiatnce. jojo is reluctant to do this at first, but soon sees what the figure had meant and was trying to tell him. He takes his hand and soon the creatures are no longer as chaotic as they were mere seconds ago, but are listening and seemingly almost waiting for a command. With the cat and brains in his head, horton in his heart, and feet in his shoes, he can steer himself in any direction he can choose. With this newfound confidence and hope, jojo uses his thinks to be in control and with that, the creatures create a path for him to steer and follow on, sitting on a front seat, newly created by the cat. He follows the path all the way home , reunited with his parents, and finally learns that "anythings possible" Jojo is now in control of the story and uses his ability to do good, and with this brings horton home, solves Gertrude's tail problem, and after a brief worry and moment of doubt, he is reassured through the thoughts of his friends and thinks that he can do it and thus saves his world from impending doom. At last the day is finally saved and done. Jojo turns to the feline standing behind him with happiness stretching across his face and nods "thank you" they both hug it out as the cat stretches his arm out to the sky, looking to the horizon and raising his hand. The sky turns pink and soon begins to fall as the world above shrinks to his size. There is when it happens. Among the newly placed jungle characters, he sees him. and he sees him. They run to each other and are at last reunited in the flesh. Thanks to the cat, the two worlds had been brought together and with jojos takeover of the story, had finally brought them peace. The cat was finally satisfied with his story, though he wasn't the only one. He had brought peace and happiness back to his creator and learned for and from himself that things wont always go according to plan, and that like the story, the ones you truly care about progress through life and through welcoming and accepting it, you finally start to see the beauty of it and all the wonderful craziness it'll bring. As long as he was there to see Jojo grow and be happy, that’s all he needed and could fuel him better than any story ever could. Though this had brought the end of the story, a new one was just beginning, but only this time, Gertrude, Horton, Jojo, and the Cat were ready for what was to come when they thought about Seuss.
look i know it’s a little weird to bring up a kids movie from 2012 but i really would like to see a remake for The Lorax
here are my requirements:
2D animated because bro 2D animation is beautiful and timeless and also more faithful to the original book
scrap Ted’s female love interest. she served no purpose other then to be the catalyst for him wanting to get a tree
have Ted have an alternate reason for wanting a tree, like being dissatisfied with the synthetic world around him so much so that even his own relationships with people don’t seem real
show the effects of pollution on people like having to occasionally wear oxygen masks or something
scrap every song from the 2012 soundtrack but keep Biggering and actually use it
give the Once-ler more moments before his descent into darkness where he makes some questionable choices and motivates his own prideful and greedy actions by convincing himself it’s okay
have an ambiguous ending like the original book that leaves watchers to think about the devastation that will hit the world if they don’t care about the environment instead of saying everything ends up okay and the trees come back (real life isn’t that simple)
If I could watch The Iron Giant at the same age these kids were watching The Lorax (2012) and be perfectly fine then all of these changes could have been made. Do not give me the “It’s too dark” bs.
