This month has been crazy. I really try to avoid tons of appointments in the summer because we run hard the rest of the year, and this mama needs some down time. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to make it happen this month.
This morning I got up and showered H and E. Trimmed their nails and all of that stuff. DS has an excessive amount of ear wax, so the doctor wanted us to try an over the counter remedy which took some time. We also had to pick up the house and do some cleaning because we had a therapist coming by.
An in-home therapist came out to see Baby. This was a follow up to our PCIT training from late spring. We have four of these appointments scheduled. Baby is continuing with out-patient therapy too. We are going to do a sibling session this week with Baby and H.
E had to have two teeth pulled this morning, so I sat with the therapist for about 30 minutes, and then left her with DH and Baby so I could take E. There isn’t enough space in her mouth now that her adult teeth are coming in. They pulled the ones today to make more space, but I don’t really see the point since it appears they will need to pull them all and she still won’t have enough space. We’ve already been to see the orthodontist. She’s five. The bill today was over $300, and will be over $350 if the insurance ends up not covering the laughing gas.
I came home from the dentist, got E settled, and then took Ms. 6 to a cooking class she’s taking this week. She had tutoring this afternoon as well.
On my way home from dropping Ms. 6 off, I ran into Target for milk and handsoap. That’s the only place that we can get those items locally that are Feingold approved for DS’ diet. We usually end up going to three different stores each week to get everything we need. I’m thinking about trialing gluten back into his diet at some point this summer.
I have counsins in from out of town. They came by for two hours. I fed them lunch. Did three loads of laundry. Changed the sheets on our bed. I sent DS, DD, and one cousin to the local ice cream place within walking distance. DD eventually went to work.
DH washed out trash cans. They all smell like diapers so he bleached away. I washed out the stroller seat that has never been washed since we purchased it four years ago when H was a baby.
We have a PVC privacy fence around 3/4 of our yard. It’s sort of green mildewy, so I started scrubbing it today. I made it through two panels.
DH ran to the drycleaners to pick up a duvet that one of the kids had gotten dirty (we dryclean next to nothing except duvets and an occasional winter jacket), and dropped off a bunch of boxes to return to Zappos. I tried to order a pair of tennis shoes for E. I ordered the fifth pair today because the first four pairs I ordered of varying sizes haven’t fit. Hoping that the fifth time is the charm. I can’t believe we’ve had so many sizing problems.
Once Ms. 6 was done with tutoring, we had cake and ice cream and did gifts for her at our house. I threw together snacks for dinner-cheese, crackers, fruit, ham, etc. No one complained.
Baby fought bedtime despite not napping today. E took a long nap due to the laughing gas so she was up and hour past her bedtime and is asleep in her bed. DS was sort of difficult and rude all day today. I sent him to bed early only to have him lay in bed awake past his bedtime.
Best part of the day? Picking up DD from work and finding that she had made me a caramel macchiato. Yum!
Y’all, I am exhausted. Not sure I’m going to make it through bedtime, let alone the rest of summer.
