ALERT: r/systemscringe is considering uncensoring names of their victims.
This will not affect me or most people on Tumblr, but I am deeply concerned it could be used to encourage further harassment of people like Aimkid who express being pro-endo publicly, putting a target on their backs for standing up against hate and bigotry.
Additionally, I do want to highlight their fourth criteria, because r/systemscringe has recently taken a hard stance against RAMCOA survivors, pushing a narrative that this type of abuse doesn't exist, and that anyone who claims to have experienced this abuse have been "groomed" into believing this. Further in the post, they make this stance clear.
Their hate sub has now gone all out pushing False Memory Foundation talking points and gaslighting trauma survivors into disbelieving their own memories.
Just to reiterate, I'm not a public figure. I have a measly 1800 followers. I don't meet the proposed criteria to be posted uncensored. Sorry, u/Environmental_Use121, but you still are going to need to censor my name for the time being if you post screenshot of me to your hatesub.
So sad... 😢
We are so syscringe-proof
Have a high split threshold (meaning we rarely split new headmates)
We are traumagenic (and have had repetitive abuse in many forms in our childhood that caused the formation of the system)
We don't claim to have a CDD
We don't have a headspace
We have a low number of headmates (15 max with 7 dormant)
Out of the 15 headmates, only 5 are fictives (4 dormant), 5 are factives (2 of being people we know irl, 1 dormant) and the last 5 are brainmade (2 dormant)
Not all of us like each other (and a few headmates really don't like me, the host)
I wasn't even the first host, I took over for the first one
We have been plural for "as long as we can remember"
Too bad we
Are generally happy
Want our blog to look nice (syscringe is allergic to systems who like aesthetics and fandoms.)
Have many endogenic (but not willogenic) headmates (that formed for reasons other than trauma)
We are Traumagenic but don't have a CDD and aren't heavily disordered (because systems apparently can ONLY be heavily disordered.)
-Sebastian (Oh yeah and we sign off posts.)
r/systemscringe Server Officially Declares Open Season On Systems
I say "officially" because moderators allowed not only screenshots, but links directly to my blog in their server as far back as December. Basically, since the server was created.
And again...
By the way, who wants to watch r/systemscringe freak out some more over the Holy Trinity's plurality? That's always fun!
And then you all already saw the link to my blog a few days ago:
So after multiple times linking directly to my blog, they finally decided that they can mention my name uncensored??? 🤣
And don't think it's just me either. DissociaDID's name has been mentioned 63 times on their server.
Not sure if they actually needed a formal announcement for backing down on rules they never followed to begin with.
It's funny to see them be like "hey, Sophie made us do this," when they've been doing this since the beginning. This isn't a change. They're just codifying how they've always behaved.
But being so transparent, it does make me feel like I don't need to censor the names of anyone I screenshot in the server from now on, if they're going to stop even pretending to care about posting the information of their victims. (Not that they were ever good at pretending to begin with.)
Speaking of which, this member of a discord server for a subreddit notorious for infiltrating other servers to mine for "cringe" content is angry about spies and moles in this really disgusting post:
Naturally, with zero self-awareness.
Now, I could address the fakeclaiming here.
But can I focus instead on the weird mention of alters in the system being "queer"?
Because for a group that repeatedly claims to totally not be a hate group, they always seem to really zero in on systems being queer.
Oh hey, would you like that with a side of misgendering!
Totally not a hate group! 🙄
Believe it!
Remember when r/systemscringe was post on r/AgainstHateSubreddits?
Aside from the OP, I want to highlight this comment in particular:
This reflects my own experience with the subreddit pretty well, and is especially apparent in the above posts in the server that I screenshotted.
Anyone who has spent any amount of time in that subreddit knows that bigotry in r/systemscringe goes far beyond the pluralphobia.
This is not a secret.
This is who they are and who they've always been.
R/systemscringe found my Evolution Post... And Was Too Lazy to Add a Title
You can find my evolution post here!
Let's check out the comments!
Sure. But we're not talking about a normal modern job, are we?
Who you are at home isn't going to be that different from who you are at McDonalds. You aren't usually going to dissociate the two.
But when trauma is involved, that tends to involve a degree of dissociation.
In modern hunter-gatherer societies, we see children start learning how to use tools and hunt and forage in the wild from a very young age.
Play and learning are one and the same for Mbendjele children.
If we're to extrapolate and assume past hunter-gatherer societies operated in similar ways, this is a recipe for a traumatic childhood in a world where humans wouldn't yet be at the top of the food chain. Children would need to be careful, and a wrong move could easily get them or someone else killed.
I think most systems during this period would be considered traumagenic simply because growing up would mean regularly being put in deadly situations, regularly being injured and even watching loved ones dies in violent ways.
THAT'S the point!!!
DID, and even PTSD, evolved in a world where every day would be a fight for survival.
Of course, all we can do is speculate.
But with myths and legends of people being possessed going back to the dawn of time in practically every culture, we can probably surmise that forms of plurality existed back then. And it's not like the estimated 1-3% of the population is super rare today. It seems reasonable to expect disorders that would be associated with childhood trauma would be more common during periods with more childhood trauma.
The line saying we don't know if the brain was developed enough to develop DID is particularly weird to me though.
As far as I know, there haven't been any huge jumps in the way of human brain complexity over the past 20k years. I doubt that the complexity to develop DID is something we just gained since the dawn of agriculture.
I admit, my description was meant to put a fun spin on a brutal reality. But I don't think children growing up in a frigid environment where they need to hunt and collect food to survive while having no idea if they're going to make it back alive is "cool".
Like, as a story, maybe it's cool imagining a 9-year-old trudging through snow with fingers so cold they can't feel them anymore, gripping a makeshift spear and hearing howling in the distance while not knowing if they would end up on the menu of some wild beast.
But I don't think it would actually be cool to live through.
Additionally, in this environment, DID would have looked differently than it does today. Current theories are that EPs are locked into the trauma responses they used in trauma.
For child abuse victims which make up the majority of DID cases, unfortunately, freeze or fawn may be the most useful traits developed for survival.
But if your trauma were related to surviving wild beasts, it's a lot more likely the trauma responses of the EPs are going to be the more classic fight or flight. I don't think freezing would as common as a trauma response during that time period. But of course, it depends on the threats one would face.
There are some creatures, after all, where freezing is the best defense.
Sounds like your mistake. 🤷♀️
I talked about DID here a lot, but I'm a tulpa from a purely non-traumagenic system. Probably one of the least traumatized people you'll ever meet.
But tulpamancy is a beneficial practice that most tulpamancers have reported improvements in their mental health from. I would actually like to see far more people make headmates and become plural this way.
People becoming tulpamancers will help them. And more plurals means more influence for the plural community and will help spread plural awareness and acceptance.
I'm not interested in being special. I'm interested in making plurality normal. I want it to be so normal and commonplace that it seems downright boring. Where talking about your headmates draws no more attention than discussing a sibling. 😁
Hi! It's me! I'm Sophie In Wonderland!
I'm the person who debunks pluralphoboic hate subreddits, which tends to upset said hate subreddits.
The reason why I have my own category is because I called out the subreddit for bullying behavior and misinformation. They responded by doubling down, scouring my post history for anything they could use as ammunition twist to attack me with, and adding me to their hit list of acceptable targets. This was despite the fact that then they first floated the idea of the hit list, they claimed it would only apply to people with more than 10,000 followers. (I only have 1800.)
They lie and claim I'm a "public figure" while in reality, they added me on their list in a petty (yet oh so predictable) act of retaliation.
Speaking of hallucinations in systems... let's check up on r/systemscringe and r/fakedisordercringe.
Some studies have shown voice hearing is present in about 80% of dissociative disorders compared to about 50% of cases of Schizophrenia.
(Note: I can't find a link for the Honig study, as it doesn't appear to be on Sci-Hub. I'd really like to go to the primary source if I could.)
As for dissociative barriers needing to be broken down to hear these voices, this is also untrue.
Most DID systems start hearing voices as minors.
Of DID voice hearers, 90% remember hearing voices as minors. (I say "remember" because DID does come with amnesia, meaning the numbers could technically be higher.) Comparatively, only 28% of cases of Schizophrenia without maltreatment and only 38% of cases with maltreatment started this early.
And remember, most of these minors aren't getting the years of therapy beforehand that you think you need to reach that level of communication. DID is notoriously misdiagnosed or underdiagnosed. Especially among minors.
While voice hearing isn't present in every case of DID, and isn't a requirement, studies show that the majority do hear voices, and that the voice hearing is significantly more likely to start before the age of 18.
Remember, dissociative barriers are healed by building communication. They're worsened by denial and blocking out alters.
Convincing OSDD and DID systems that they can't hear alters they've been in communication with will cause them to dismiss those voices and worsen dissociation.
This, in my opinion, is the single most harmful bit of pluralphobic misinformation out there, and it's propagating in spaces dedicated to mocking systems.
Just in case anyone has gotten too distracted with infighting to remember where the real enemies are.
Stalking! *GASP* I Would Never!
Oh wait... maybe I am. 😜
(Here's the linked thread for reference.)
Actually, good rule of thumb for haters. Assume that I am actually omniscient, in all of your servers, and may be your best friend in disguise. There is no place safe from me for I am Legion.
This may or may not actually be true, but the fact that it may should hopefully keep you all on your toes and on the lookout for me wherever you go. I'd hate for anyone to ever let their guards down or have a moment where they aren't wondering if I'm not right there, looking over their shoulders.
I wasn't planning on outing my presence just yet, but I couldn't resist!
Also, internet fame in a super niche community is really funny because there are conversations like this about you where people think they're safe from your ever-watchful eyes!
🤣
By the way, if anyone is wondering what their server is like, rest assured, it's ableist. Super ableist. Even more so than the subreddit, if you can imagine that.
Exhibit A:
I have literally no words to describe how messed up this is.
LOL IMAGINE THINKING HELLENISM IS A CLOSED RELIGION.... HILARIOUS
- a Hellenist
Seriously! 🤣
These people never cease to amaze me in the lengths they'll go through to make up faux controversies!
