Every Thanksgiving I see tables set with knives facing the wrong way and I promise myself I’m going to write a post on how to set a proper table. I also see a lot of bad table manners at press dinners and other events so I’ve finally put advice for both together in a post today. You may think that table manners or knowing how to set a table don’t matter but many companies evaluate their job candidates who may entertain clients on their social skills which includes how they eat in public. I am also grateful to @zoedegivenchy for contributing her valuable advice on hostess gifts. And for including a very amusing quote. As Walter Hoving says in the book Tiffany’s Table Manners for Teenagers, once “you know the rules you can start breaking them. Don’t forget though, it takes a lot of social know how to break rules.” #tablemanners #etiquette #knivesfacetheplate (at New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkMayyLvPKx/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
