All the books I got from my book outlet haul! I am so excited for those graphic novels in there. That is definitely a genre I’ve been wanting to get into more and am so happy I found a little gateway. Also finally I’m jumping on the Dumplin’ bandwagon!

December TBR | 2018

We’re in the final stretch of the year. I’ve blown by Goodreads goal out of the water so I don’t really need to worry about rushing to finishing a bunch of books. My finals week is going to be pretty light so I’m looking to just enjoy reading. This month is going to be about finishing series, apparently.

The first series that I want to catch up is My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi:

I’ve been meaning to get all caught up on this series. I have like four volumes left and I didn’t get a chance to read any last month so hopefully I can quickly finish this off. I really love this series and now that the anime is on hiatus, it’s time to get caught up on the manga.

The second series I want to finish is His Dark Materials with The Amber Spyglass by Phillip Pullman:

I read and loved the Subtle Knife last month so I’m itching to read this one. It’s significantly longer than the other two so I’m excited to see where this story goes. I don’t really know what’s going to happen be here’s hoping I like it.

Other than that I’m hoping to get my TBR down a little. Next semester I’m taking a YA Literature class so I bought three books that I’m hoping to get done during the break so I don’t have to worry about reading them next year. Other than that, this is what I plan to read for the rest of the year.

September TBR | 2018

Despite the fact that school is kicking my ass I’m going to put three books on my TBR. God help me.

The first book that I want to read is the Towering Sky by Katharine McGee:

This is the third and final book in the thousandth floor trilogy. It’s basically futuristic Gossip Girl. It’s not like the greatest thing ever but it’s still a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see how this series concludes.

Next I want to read is The Many Lives of Stephen Leeds by Brandon Sanderson:

Because I am trash. This is a collection of all three of the Legion short stories, including the newest one “Lies of the Beholder”. If I have time I’ll listen to Legion and Skin Deep but I’m really excited to see the conclusion of this trilogy.

And finally I want to read The Black Prism by Brent Weeks:

This is for a month long read a long. I’ve tried reading this book multiple times but never got past the first few chapters. I’ve heard such good things about this book and I’m really excited to actually read it.

Those are the books that I plan to read in September. I don’t know how well that I’ll be able to read them but hopefully I can at least read Towering Sky and Legion.

June TBR | 2018

At the time of writing this I really have no idea what I want to read, so this is a bit of a shot in the dark. Also, at the time of writing this I still haven’t really spent the 180 dollars. So I may be reading something completely different. So this TBR is basically one giant shrug.

The first book I’m considering reading is Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi:

This is part of the Rick Riordan Presents series and it’s about Hindu mythology. I’m a little skeptical going into this because look at the table of contents it looks like Chokshi is really trying to be Riordan-like and I don’t know how well it’ll work. However, I’ll keep an open mind and will be interested to learn more about Hindu mythology.

The only other book I kind of want to pick up is One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus:

I’ve had this book for a while and haven’t picked it up. I’ve been kind of a contemporary mood so I’m thinking that this will be a good time to read this. Plus it’s a short audiobook which is what I’ve been feeling lately.

I may also reread Cress by Marissa Meyer. I bought the audiobook last month but I kept putting it off. Maybe the mood to reread this series will hit me again. Those are the only two books I can think of to put on my TBR list. I’ll probably be reading more than this but I have no idea what.

August TBR | 2018

So last month sucked because I was having mouth problems so I didn’t get a lot of reading done. And this month I go to college so that’s going to be difficult. However that’s not till the end of the month so I’m hoping to at least cram in a little reading. Plus I have a two hour drive from home to school. Plus packing and stuff so I’ll have some time to listen to audiobooks.

There are only two books that I want to read, the first is one that I should have read last month but didn’t and that’s the Poppy War by R. F. Kuang:

This book is based on Chinese history and it’s about a girl from a poor background getting into this elite military school. I’m about a quarter of the way through it and it’s kind of like if Jay Kristoff tried to write Name of the Wind. There’s certain plot points that are very Name of the Wind. But the pacing is so fast and the dialogue is so modern it just reminds me of a Jay Kristoff book. I was enjoying it when I read it and I’m hoping to get more of that done.

The next book I want to read is for Elliot Brooks reading along of The Shadow of What was Lost by James Islington:

I have no idea what this book is about. I think it might also be about a magic school and it’s adult fantasy. So I’m hoping to enjoy it.

Those are the books that I plan on reading this month. I’ll probably be trying to read as many books as I can this month because I can’t bring a million books to college so I need to read a lot of them. Like the rest of my Blue Exorcist books and some of the longer books I own. So, yeah!

Somewhat Impromptu 24 Hour Read-A-Thon | 2018

So, last Sunday, I decided that I wanted to do a 24 Hour Read-A-Thon. I want to keep ahead of 2018 Reading Challenge plus this month I’ve been getting a lot of graphic novels and those are perfect for reading in one day. There’s not going to be any challenges or rules, just a dedicated day to reading.

It’s just going to be from midnight Saturday, February 3rd to midnight February 4th.

The books I’m planning to read are:

Orange: Future by Ichigo Takano

Wires and Nerve: Gone Rouge by Marissa Meyer

Reread White Sand Vol. 1 to prepare for Vol. 2 by Brandon Sanderson

Get farther into And I Darken by Kiersten White, at least to a quarter the way through

Just a chill, fun thing to do. Hopefully I’ll get through all of these books and have a great time.
