One word: ominous

whenever you text Laito, you swear you feel someone watching you. it's like there's an extra gust of wind when you want to go to the kitchen for a snack or that a window in the dancing hall's been opened even though you're sure that Reiji locks it every evening

His texts are very sweet; as sweet as Laito can be ofc

petnames, sweet voice messages for you to wake up to, multitudes of photos that the majority don't have your consent to have been photographed and the others were not so endearing when you glue their contexts together

Gives out good morning and good night texts as well as reminds you to say them back or you'll face the consequences for not being a "good partner"

doesn't mind using both emoticons and emojis however he leans towards emoticons more because it expresses him more accurately than emojis do

but holy shit, there are times when he gets serious in the middle of texting and you're just like "??"

If you ever send a screenshot of your text convos to someone, Laito will know

other than all of those things, Laito is just an average texter when it doesn't involve anything sexual but he'll never be bland or disenchanting

he's an expert in knowing that once something is boring, it'll get difficult to get that spark lit up again

what you'll never know is that instead of you being paranoid that your phone camera is open, you should've investigated sooner that your location sharing has been enabled yet you know damn well that there's no reason for that to be

not afraid to wiretap your phone

this man right here is the only normal interaction you'll have in the manor

the sweetest, the most patient and the most understanding when compared to all of the sakamakis

but don't text him when he's angry or upset because he will spout some things that make you question whether he's truly happy to be in a relationship with you or his need for blood is being quenched because you're just one phone call away now

likes to test you. he'll often pull and push when it comes to invites because it makes me feel validated on the inside that you're willing to show how much you want to be with him or receive something from him

you HAVE to show emotion when you text Subaru or else you're going to add more doubts in his head when you're a dry texter. Don't be afraid to use exclamation marks, text in all caps, send gifs, you get the gist

Assurance. All this man needs over text is assurance. Text him how he's doing, text him some stuff that happened in your day no matter how minuscule it was, text him about a new artist you found out about and how you're going to have their music on loop; the more you include him in your life, the more giddy he feels on the inside and he absolutely BRAGS about it to the others

he overthinks a lot and really needs someone who's patient with him because if you're going on and on about your day and there's no balance between what you share and what he wants to text about, expect the dreaded "ok", "that's nice", "lol"

this can also be due to the fact that he doesn't want to seem childish nor does he know how to express his emotions like how Laito does

I wrote almost this entire thing then Tunglr wacked out and I lost it all😭, let’s try again, shall we?

Arthur and Lance text fairly... normally? Like... there are the odd spelling/autocorrect/grammar errors, but nothing too terrible, and they usually read everything before they send it to minimise mistakes. Their messages are legible and make sense. They don’t use emojis though, like... at all. Lance just never got into it, and Arthur thinks it’s childish and below him. We love him, but he’s a posh tosser no matter what au you put him in.

Leon, Percival, and Gwen are fairly similar to Arthur and Lance, except they’re slightly more laid back. Leon uses the thumbs up emoji all the fucking time, and will occasionally venture into 😡😶😐 territory when it comes to Gwaine. Gwen uses all the happy/blushy/flower/animal emojis because she’s cool like that. Percival uses things like :D instead of 😀.

Merlin never fucking looks at his phone, so fuck knows how he texts. It’s not that he leaves you on read, it’s that he goes on adventures at 3am and is either wanted by the cops for seven counts of first degree murder or is presumed missing and dead (the gang can never figure it out from the very confusing BBC news TV reports) and has left his phone in a ditch somewhere. It’s considered a miracle for Merlin to answer a message, and everyone has decided it’s just easier to call his landline (yes, he still has one of those things, because it’s the only way his mum will use a phone. She doesn’t text either) or drop round his place unexpectedly to explain the group plans to him.

Gaius will never text anyone voluntarily, he’d rather call or see them face to face. If he has to reply to a text, it’s always one or two words; it’s not that he hates you (”are you coming tonight? everyone’s excited to see you maybe :D” “No.”) he’s just... like that.

Mordred and Elyan are fairly normal as well. They don’t spend much time on their phones (Elyan is busy and Mordred would just rather be doing other things) but they can be relied on to reply at some point in the day, just maybe not immediately. They use normal abbreviations, like congrats, but nothing crazy or ridiculous.

Gwaine is the most annoying fucking texter in the world. If he’s able, he’ll replace a word with a stupid emoji, he abbreviates EVERYTHING, he’ll spam the chat, his grammar and spelling is legit terrible. Instead of saying “I’ll see you before lunch tomorrow at the pub.” it’s “👁ll c u tomoz b4 🥪 @ 🍻!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” and it’s fucking infuriating. It probably takes him longer to figure out what emojis and shortenings he can use, than if he were to just type the whole thing out. Elyan and Merlin think it’s hilarious. Lance always has to ask someone else to translate. Arthur and Leon hate it with a burning passion, and honestly? That’s the main reason he does it lol. It’s a lot of effort on his part, but it’s a sacrifice he’s willing to make, just to wind them up.

Morgana is a bit like Gaius, but less severe. Her texts are normally pretty short, but she’s prepared to have a conversation if she really has to. She types so fucking fast and never makes a mistake and no one knows how she does it. She rarely uses emojis, just maybe 😊 and ❤️ when speaking to Gwen.

Texting Zemo Headcanons

[Baron Zemo Masterlist] [Marvel Masterlist]

Pairing: Baron Zemo x Reader (no gender, race, body type given)

Rating: Teen (some suggestive HC mentioned)

A/N: Just some random HC I have for texting with Zemo. 

He prefers talking on the phone to texts because he enjoys hearing your voice. 

He likes leaving you voicemails or sending video messages for when you can't talk on the phone. He loves when this is reciprocated, too. 

He will text you he loves you in a new language every day.

He never texts when he is angry or upset for fear of saying something he will regret.

He texts you back as soon as he can. However, if it is longer than he would like, he always offers his sincerest apologies. 

He is not a double texter. He prefers sending longer texts over short bursts.

He always texts last, especially at the end of the day. He wants you to know he is there for you.

He secretly loves when you send 'good luck' texts even if he tells you there is no such thing as luck. 

His eyes always brighten with a smile when he sees a new notification from you.

He worries when you don't text back or if he expects to hear from you and doesn't. Your safety and wellbeing are of the utmost importance to him. However, he never oversteps or makes you feel suffocated. He bottles up his concerns until you finally reply, and he can breathe easier again.

He does not believe in 'selfies'. If you exchange these types of images, he will insist that they are 'self-portrait photography'.

He occasionally texts in riddles or a code that only the two of you know for added privacy.

He can be suggestive without meaning to be in the things he says.

He doesn't use emojis often, but when he does, they are always intentional and purposeful.

However, 😈 and 😏 are his favorites, and he knows just how to use them. 

If you send 💦 or 🌶 in reply to his texts, he will feign innocence and pretend he has no idea what you are implying. 

He never uses texting abbreviations.

His grammar, punctuation, and capitalization are always impeccable. 

He never uses capslock and refuses to read any texts you send in all caps. (He doesn't like to be shouted at)

He texts you photos from his missions. He likes to share his experiences with you when you can't be with him.

He loves when you text him pictures of yourself in everyday situations.

He does not trust technology enough to allow you to send him explicit photos or texts. He knows how easy it is to hack into someone's phone. (Plus, he insists he already has memorized a map of your body).

He always backs up his phone and uses multiple firewalls and virus protection programs.

He likes to keep his battery charged and never allows it below 50% if he can help it.

JJK men + texting hcs, pt.1.

JJK x gn!reader

Characters: Eso, Toji, Sukuna

Rating: sfw, Warnings: none, read under the cut :3

Eso

His texts are sure full of intentional cutesy misspellings, emojis and emoticons, plus a lot of punctuation marks. He usually sends sassy and flirty GIFs, and uses the words "fabulous", "lovely" and "gorgeous" a lot. He's very extroverted, and since the first moment, his presence is loud and eccentric, even via texts.

When you need his support, he sends a ton of positivity and always rushes to find the best solutions for you. He's always glad to help you, and usually tells you that he wishes he could be near you to give you his tighter hug, to help you feel better.

When he wants to vent to you, he usually starts with "can I talk about something that bothers me?". If you also support him and help him boost his mood, he makes sure to thank you and let you know that he was very pleased with your talk.

His memes are either too old fashioned or too cutesy, or even both.

He's very flirty and won't hesitate to make you blush with his words. He'd compliment you a lot and remind you that he loves you. He's also a gentleman and it shows everytime you talk. He always complains when you two are separated, and tells you how he wishes he could squeeze you in his arms and stay like that for hours.

His most used emojis: 💗♥️😘😗😼😏🥺💓💞💖🐝

Toji Fushiguro

He is not too talkative. Mostly answers with one or two words when you ask him something general. But if you would want to talk about something more emotional in nature or something deeper, he would actually enjoy the talk and respond with long texts on his view on the topic, and he'd be very kind to you, careful not to offend you. His most used word is "ok".

If you ever feel down, he'll want to be positive, but still would be a bit awkward, since he's not the best to comfort others in his opinion, but he still manages to make you feel better with his advice and thoughts, even without realising it.

When something bothers him, he doesn't really bring it up himself, you have to dig for it while you keep texting him. It will be a bit difficult for him to admit it, and will be replying in a very neutral tone and very short texts. But eventually, he will admit and open his heart to you if he trusts you. He will awkwardly thank you when he finishes his venting.

He doesn't really know about memes, but he subconsciously makes some amateurish ones, usually of dark humour.

His flirting skills are exceptional, he's very smooth when he plays with the words, with smugness.

He isn't really into emojis, but he could use one or two hearts when the situation requires.

Sukuna

When you meet him at first he's not so open, and talks sarcastically at you, but not with bad intentions, if he takes a liking to you, which is a very rare thing. As you two get closer, his texts are becoming a bit more detailed, and slightly poetic as well. That's a sign that he wants you in his life.

If he notices that you are down when you two text, he will feel confused on what he could say to make you feel better, since he spent so many years alone in his slumber, with the memory of hunger to destroy everything. But since he actually starts having feelings for you, he tries his best, and aims to succeed, because he can never be satisfied with something less than success.

There are moments even he feels negative emotions, probably stronger than annoyance. He finds it difficult to admit, but he does need your encouragement too sometimes. If you show him your interest, he'll be very grateful, even if in his texts, it is not so visible, because he's too embarrassed and confused to the new feelings.

He is literally just awakened again in the 21st century, 1000 years after his era, and he is abruptly new to technology and the culture of today, so he had no idea of what memes are, before you showed him. He found them so hilarious, he ended up spamming you with a ton of memes from every site he could find. His favourite type is nonsensical videos with bad flute covers.

The way he flirts is a bit possessive at first, but he mellows down as you show your character to him too. You become part in his life and that has a positive impact on his behaviour.

Since he learned using emojis, he becomes a merciless spamming machine, and his favourites are: 😂😈😛💲🤑💘😏💎

Convo in the Arc-V server led to this discussion: How the Yuboys handle not getting a text back

Yugo: Yugo is just! Excited! Wants to talk! Adhd brain! But if you distract him with something irl he will forget about waiting and instead spend like three hours working on his bike or some other menial task. He'll start doing one little thing that leads him to discovering a much Bigger thing to be done that doesn't necessarily have to be done right away, but now that he's thinking about it he Has to do it and ends up completely absorbed in something like organizing and rearranging the place he keeps all his spare duel runner parts at. His focus is 100% on Task and he forgets entirely that he was waiting on a text back until the next time he checks his phone and sees one, then he's just "Oh! Yay! :D"

Yuri: Yuri feels like the type of person who sends a message and wants a response back asap, and the whole time he has to wait he's like "Ugh why aren't they paying attention to me. I'm right here! I can see you online! Stop ignoring me!!! I hate you I hate you I hate-"

[Someone responds]

Yuri: Yaaay bestie

He stews the whole time and attempts to distract himself with other tasks, but every couple minutes he checks his phone, sees no new message, and just Loudly Sighs and gets mad all over again about having to wait. He's very not good at waiting on acknowledgement. Yuri will Force himself to do other stuff in an attempt to busy his mind, but the whole time he's bitter because he knows he's only doing whatever else as a distraction, and that knowledge is enough to make him resent the wait. When he does finally get his text back he's internally like "Well it TOOK long enough," but texts like he Didn't just spend the past couple hours hating you for ignoring him.

To sum it up: "You ignore Yuri? You ignore him like the brick wall? Oh! Oh!!! Jail for you! Jail for you for one thousand-"

[He gets a text back]

Yuri: ❤💗💕

Yuto: Yuto probably Worries when he doesn't get a text back after a certain amount of time, especially if you just disappear mid convo with no warning. "I wonder if something came up? They could just be busy... What if they're mad at me? Did I do something? I don't think I did, but... :(" He then proceeds to spend the next hour running through every event from the past week trying to figure out what he did to make you stop responding to him, and once he finishes with that, he moves on to worrying whether or not something might have happened to you instead. When he gets a response he is just Relieved all his worries turned out to be over nothing, no one is hurt or hates him, and he can happily resume conversation.

Yuya: Chaos. He's normal at first and does not stress over not getting a response asap, but once it's been like 8 hours... Where the others all find other stuff to do or worry about things going wrong or angst over being left alone, Yuya just starts spam texting to try and get a response back and will do so incessantly until he either gets a reply or just gets bored/called away to do something else.

"Yuzu did you fall asleep"

"Yuzu hewwo"

"Yuzu look at this funny pic"

"Yuzuuuuu stop ignoring me"

Yuya then proceeds to spam Yuzu's phone with this exact picture of a sad dog and then promptly forgets about it and falls asleep

And as soon as she sees 30+ unread texts from Yuya she just yells "Oh my GOD YUYA" and finally texts him back

Yuzu: There I've finally seen sad dog are you happy now

Yuya: Yes :3c

Optimus would be the kind of person to send texts that have a formal “good afternoon” or “dear (insert name)” and would sign off on all of them. Even if it’s just two words. 

Hence why he doesn’t text often, anyway. 

And only stops doing it when Ratchet tells him for the whatever-thousandth time he doesn’t need to do that,,,
