Thinking about the comparisons between Vera Draven and Clarissa Dovey.

When Jud asks Vera if she became a lawyer to take over her dad's practice, Vera says: I became a lawyer because I wanted to do great things in the world.

Look at that ambition, that desire to change the world, that desire to help people but then instead the people around her force her to do their work and solve their problems. Vera becomes a lawyer and is probably very very good at it and then gets forced into less favorable positions by misogyny.

I just wonder how much this story overlaps with Dovey. She becomes a fairy godmother and she's really really good at it. But then it seems like eventually all that is left for her is to either get married or become a teacher of entitled bratty kids. Cy? Tedros? Tedros literally starts the school for incels so yknow ughhh the similarities

And it makes me wonder, what type of law was Vera trained for before she got stuck doing whatever her dad wanted her to do. Please if you're a lawyer or know anything about law chime in. I'm dreadful at all things law but I'm really curious about this

Also, the facial differences between these are great. First we see Ian getting agitated with his brother's help and Barley knows when to back off. Then we see Ian more open to Barley's guidance as we see them more relaxed with each other's presence.
